Like other reviewers, I was a bit skeptical because this router is so cheap - really thought it wasn't going to be too good, but we're on a tight budget so I tried it out. I paid over $100 for a Linksys router that died after 1 1/2 years. I'll never buy another Linksys again, but I'm a netgear fan for life. This router was so easy to hook up, laptops connected instantly with no problem - highly recommend

I was looking for a wireless router, when I found this. It stated all of the speeds and flashy flashy blah blah blah. I even bought a Netgear Desktop/Laptop wireless USB adapter, (which hasn't failed me). I bought this after I got Verizon, and the (ofcourse) Radioshack employees convinced us to go for it. I later found out the modem was already wireless. =P
Well it doesn't seem to work with all wireless devices except for Xbox 360's. Go for Linksys.

My son recently purchased the Roku for me...Unfortunately, I use a modem for my internet service...In order to use my Roku, I needed a router and I wanted it to be wired to my pc...A Best Buy associate suggested this item...The price was up my alley and it works beautifully...I have been using it for a month now without any problems..I got what I wanted....Just love it...Recommend it highly...

This router works. The lights on the front are bright, but I have it in a cabinet, so it does not bother me. Incidentally, the signal is strong from inside the cabinet (my apartment is ~900 sq ft and coverage is good throughout). Wirelessly, I am using Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, as well as iPhones. Wired, I am feeding a Tivo HD, a Samsung BD player, and an Apple TV. All work great. Paid $40 for mine.

Contrary to what others have said here, I had NO problems with setting this router up. It seemed straightforward to me. Just insert the CD-ROM and follow the directions and in a few minutes, you're up and running. My only complaint is that the router is made of a lightweight plastic that required me to tape it down to prevent it from sliding all over from the weight of the cables. Also, you have the ability to mount as horizontally as shown or it comes with brackets to enable you to mount this vertically which is what I did to save desk space.

I had difficulties setting my netgear up and running at the initial stages, due to my strong firewall. No sooner had my firewall turned off, my connection went through and am now able to roam with my labtop any where in my apartment, with strong signals.I would definitely recommend this cost effective gagnet to any house hold.
The price is good and my signal strength excellent.Am indeed satisfied.

It works with all my games. Hard wired to XBOX360. Wireless with Wii and DS. Set-up could be easier. No removable antenna, but strength is good.

Works with Windows 7

This router was easy to set-up. However the directions tell you to hook everything up first and then put in the CD, and the CD takes you through the wire hook-up steps. I'd recommend just putting in the CD before you do anything. It's Windows 7 compatable and is detactable immediately by the operating system assuming that your device is set-up already to receive a wireless signal.

I got this so my Nintendo wii could access the 'net, and it works great! It was easy to set up, and the wii found it with no problem. The computer works like usual, and when people with laptop computers visit me, they can use my internet too on their own computer. A lot of value for the price. So far in the 3 weeks I've been using, it has never dropped the connection at all.

Works as intended, setup is a breeze. Insert disk into main computer (the computer you use with your cable/dsl modem) follow directions word to word. Wireless works automatically with any secondary computers with a wireless card rather integrated or not longs you run the Wireless Network Wizard (Windows XP) distance reaches 1st floor on the other side of the house from the 2nd floor.

Not very reliable, cannot go more than a couple days without having to reset. At times will have to reset couple times a day. Not sure if it is just not strong enough with a signal or what. Would not recommend

I purchased this product 11/30/2009. I couldn't believe how easy it was to use. I plugged it in and my laptop and my desk top worked immediately. I didn't need to use the install disc at all.
I'm not computer savy and so I really appreciate the easy set up of this system.

After addressing setup difficulty, this router has been reliable. Range left a little to be desired, but manages to cover our 1400ft-sq space. Be advised that older cordless appliances, namely 900mhz phones, will interfere with the signal enough to terminate the connection while the phone is in use..Newer phones in the ghz ranges are wireless router friendly.
The provided setup disc does not address all setup issues and required a driver download to resolve on an XP computer.

I bought this wireless router last week and it is quite awesome actually!! I haven't had any problems with it so far. I always get an excellent connection. Even when I am 30 feet away, I still have an 80 percent or higher connection. The signal does drop periodically but that only lasts for a second and then it's back working again. I think it was designed to do this because when I was looking at it's properties through my wireless card's menu, it had a designated reset time. So basically it resets every so often. I don't know why but it's intentional so don't worry. I think it is for security purposes. I also recommend having an Intel Pro Wireless card for your PC (or something better if you can afford it). It has a nice, sleek white color with blinking green lights that don't overpower a room. It has the latest security options available so you can set a name and password to your network. The WPA2 protection assures maximum privacy and protection when using your network. I'd definitely recommend getting this. I only paid 40 bucks for it and it is awesome!! It supports a maximum speed of 54 mb/s which is perfect for today's wireless devices. It is also backwards compatible with the older a/b wireless protocols. BUY THIS!!

Good Product But Big Problems

I bought this product so i could make a wireless network for my xbox 360 and let me tell you that this product gave me so many problems. It took 4 hours to install because the software was not installing right. Then the Router only seems to give me an open NAT is when i unplug it then plug it back in. I cant play xbox unless i reset the connection every single time. if you are looking for a regular household router then get this one but DO NOT GET FOR GAMING!
