Scratching the Itch—But It’ll Cost Ya

I had a bit of an itch to play NWN while I was on a lengthy vacation away from my computer. The idea of taking this thing on the go on the Switch was too good to resist. It’s a pretty old game, it uses turn-based combat similar to what BioWare would do with the original X-box & PC Knights of the Old Republic. You get the drill.
The mixed-to-negative reviews on this Switch port are well-known and are mostly deserved. The game is there, but its was designed for a traditional computer and mouse. Unlike Baldur’s Gate 1-2, etc. and Diablo 3, this game really does struggle to be manageable on a controller. Inventory management— critical during battle—is very tricky and darn right dangerous for your character.
In a PC environment you can (comparatively) quickly fling your mouse inside your inventory and use that item you need to stay alive or whatever. It was a bit slow on the PC, but it’s much more so on the Switch. In this, without setting a couple hot keys, you’re going to go through the tedious task of clumsily and slowly moving your cursor (a holdover of the PC world) from one cluster of inventory space to another, selecting that item, then selecting a command on top of that.
Tedious and as fraught as it was, I still was happy I was doing this on the go, untethered by a computer and chair.
If you’re big into RPGs or need to scratch that D&D itch on the go, this port could be for you. But it does perform much better on the PC environment it was made for.

I played this game years ago on a PC and decided to take a chance on the Switch version. Glad that I did! Excellent transfer to a console. This will give you hours of exploration and includes all of the content in the original. I highly recommend this, especially if you are at home for a long period of time with nothing else to do.

Another great D&D PC port. Not quite as good as Baldur's Gate, but still a great game. Fans of the original game will love this!

This was on my nephew’s Christmas list so I went online and ordered it from Best Buy. I had it shipped to my home with free shipping. It was very easy and it arrived within days. My nephew was very happy to receive this game game and loves it.

First off you have to know that I played this game back in the day on the PC. There is no better platform to play games of this nature. Of course it's hard to say no to Neverwinter Nights on the go!

The fight style is exactly like an actual d&d with the roll... Not like the other games...
