I bought two of this for my kids, they really love it! Compared to previous 3DS, this new model has huge upgrade in many points. Screen is better, 3D is now more clear, and the processor is upgraded to show faster performance. Overall, this is a solid machine!

Enjoying my new 3ds xl! The face recognition 3d is definitely an improvement, although it still gets tiring after a bit and I have to switch back to 2d. It's great having the c-stick also and not having to fight the camera angle during boss fights or puzzles.

Picked up 2, one in each color for both my kids. Replaced older version for my older son. Both boys love the new model with bigger screens and faster action. Activated parental control so we can monitor their usage. So far very happy with the product

Even if you already own a previous iteration of the 3DS, this is definitely worth a purchase. The face tracking 3D works great, and the addition of the C-Stick along with amiibo support for future titles makes this a must have for all your 3DS needs.

Great product the 3d works even better than the normal 3ds. Also the Cstick is amazing for controlling the camera and playing SSB 3ds. I'm really enjoying this new console. The resolution and loading time are way better definitely worth the upgrade.

    Great Improvements over the 3DS

The New 3DS XL is in short awesome! There are so many new features that make it overall superior. Nintendo finally made the switch to microSD cards which saves space in overall design as well as moving to the more common standard. The addition of the ZL and ZR shoulder buttons is very nice and is quite helpful in games that implement them such as SSB4 3DS. The C-Stick is also a wonderful addition and will become even more handy as time goes on. The feature however that stands out the most is the improvement in 3D technology. With a slightly faster processor and the front facing camera being used to track head movement, the 3D picture is nearly flawless! Great product!

This is the first Nintendo product I've owned since my first Nintendo 64, so I'm not familiar with how it compares to the other DS's or gameboy or anything like that but I love it! I think the 3D makes it look amazing and it's really easy to use!

This is a worthy upgrade for the 3ds family. Absolutely gorgeous on the outside. Runs quick and without flaw. New c-stick adds a lot to gameplay experience. 3d is now always on for mine, but face tracking is affected by light source. Get one now

The new 3ds is great so far. The graphics seem much more smooth than on my old 3ds. There's also the larger screen size and longer battery life. However, I have yet to find use for some of the new 3ds' other features, such as the c-stick and amiibo support. The placement of the stylus slot (on the bottom of the device) is also skeptical, as styluses have often gotten loose in my experience.

I had a 3ds before I got this one. But the difference is pretty amazing. The new 3d feature works surprisingly well and makes it usable. Also it's faster overall loading games and such. If you have a 3ds (not xl) I would recommend the upgrade.

I never used the 3d on the old 3ds. It was difficult to keep in the sweet spot. Now I use it most of the time. C stick although small is very responsive. Only downside is NO CHARGER so make sure to pick one up if you don't already have one!

I upgraded from the 3DS XL and this one has a couple of nice upgrades and additions. 1. It's easier to keep games in focus in 3D. I believe the system tracks your head position while you're playing and adjusts the focus accordingly. 2. There's an extra thumb stick that is utilized by newer games and a few older ones that were compatible with the circle pad pro. 3. There's more memory in the new unit which may reduce load times and will be necessary to play some of the more recourse intensive games being released, such as Xenoblade Chronicles. 4. Has built in amiibo support. I think you have to buy a peripheral if you want to amiibos with the older systems. It's an excellent system and worth buying if you really like playing games in 3D or are interested in some of the more intense titles being released.

I love my 3DS. I decided to upgrade to the new 3DS XL for the larger screen and adaptive 3D. The adaptive 3D is a noticeable improvement when I'm using the game in the expected way - sitting with it in my lap, in reasonable lighting, even in a jostling environment as a passenger in a car. Haven't tried it out yet on a subway, but on the whole I'm very happy with it. I'd be giving it five starts, except... The $199.99 package does not include an AC adapter or power cord OF ANY KIND. This seems ridiculous - a USB cable at the least would have easily fit in the box and not significantly impacted the price. It does use the same adapter as all the modern DSes - so your DSi, 3DS, and older 3DS XL adapters will work, for example. But if you don't already own a compatible DS, or you want to avoid having to time-share one adapter among DSes, you will need to buy some way to power the thing in additional to the unit itself. Very, very annoying - and it could have been stated in MUCH larger type on the box that no sort of powering option AT ALL is included. There is only a statement in small type in the middle of all the text on the back of the box that no AC adapter is included. There is no indication that the unit is unusable UNLESS you purchase or already own some sort of additional cable or adapter. So yeah, I'd recommend it to someone who was contemplating DSes, but I would also warn them about the missing critical piece.

while it weirded me out that the c-stick doesnt feel like it's moving, i quickly got over it because it is in fact very responsive. the 3d face tracking is great for when i do want to view my games in 3d, definitely easier on the eyes. i upgraded from a 3ds ll to an n3ds xl so the size difference is also more comfortable. my only disappointments would be that there's only one place to put a decorative charm or strap (because i bought it mostly for my wife to use since it has the built in NFC reader and i bought her Happy Home Designer, along with a few packs of amiibo cards) and that there are only 2 color options for it. my wife also would prefer that the larger size would come with faceplates, seeing as how the smaller n3ds size will soon be available in the US, but that's just being nitpicky.

I had the original 3DS and decided to upgrade. I like the bigger screen. The 3D effect is much easier to use due to the new head tracking technology and the extra button, once I became used to it, works rather well. I'm glad I upgraded.

I skipped the original 3DS due to lack of games at launch, later when there were games I wanted I didn't have the disposable income. When I finally had enough money for a 3DS and a few games the NEW 3DS was announced, so I waited and got this one. I had played a few games briefly on my friend's original 3DS out of curiosity and was disappointed with the 3D. The NEW 3DS's 3D is actually impressive for the most part, not mind blowing, but it actually DOES work. There is also the addition of a new analog disk above the buttons on the right side of the unit, but currently there's only two games that actually use it, still, a nice addition.

I had a 3DS XL for over two years and I upgraded to this after my old one was showing its age inside and out, and I highly recommend it! It is much faster, feels better in your hands, but the 3D is where you see the most improvement!

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she gives it an A+. Bonus was that her favorite color is red. It's easy to set up, screen is a great size...works perfect. My only one suggestion would be to include a basic game.
