Love this product! Plays the current games but without the costly 3D feature. Also missed the clamshell and was happy to have it back! A huge improvement from the original 2DS! Only issue is the floppy top screen and the sensitivity, or lack of, of the power button.

I was so excited when I saw this purple New 2DS XL. I have an older 3DS and it is great, but I never use the 3D feature. This unit is WAY lighter than it's 3D counterpart. If you don't need the 3D feature, this is definitely the handheld DS system for you.

Bought this for my 5year olds birthday as we were taking the train 3 hours to NYC. He loved it and the battery lasted the whole way and then some on a full charge. Recommend over the 3DS as it’s cheaper and can still play 3DS games (not in 3D).

Great portable device to play all the new 3DS games and even older ones like Pokemon Yellow. The backlit screen is a major improvement from the older new 3DS XL, and the screen is a bit wider too. Great product overall.

I was looking to buy the 3DS XL, but quickly learned that it is no longer in production. I decided to give this model a shot over purchasing a pre-owned 3DS. I couldn't be happier. Nice screen size, controls are the Nintendo norm, and I realized that I do not miss having the 3D option. My only gripe is the battery life. It lasts about a day and a half or so. However, it is understandable due to the size of the screen. Other than that, definitely satisfied with my purchase.

If you are looking for a portable device so your kid will stop wanting to play on your phone. And you don’t want to break the bank then I suggest this product.

I love my DS. I got it for one specific game and was introduced to the world of Nintendo. So now I have a switch and my DS. The DS has huge library and Nintendo still offers sales on games and birthday sales. So now I am catching up on all of the DS versions of the Zelda games that I missed. A great buy and easy to bring with you anywhere. Also great for kids, keeps my niece busy when she visit. And we both love the color purple!! So lucky to buy it at the time. And the Best Buy staff in gaming department was questioning my choice of buying it because of the Nintendo switch being the newer system. I am very happy I still chose the DS and ignored the staff.

I had to sell my 3DS XL years ago to pay bills. I needed to play my favorite Zelda games. Plus Animal Crossing. I can not afford a switch. This works just fine for me.

I purchased a Nintendo 2 DS XL for my son. He loves it. States that it is well made, light and easy to play. He is using it right now.

It was hard to find a DS for our four year daughter right now. Glad we found this one and she loves it. This gives her an opportunity to play games and she can operate it easily. I like the size being a little smaller and lighter than the 3ds. I feel it is a much size for her to use and she is happy it is purple. Great product and love that Mario kart was loaded on it. I was happy to see this one came with an adaptor to charge it, since my son's 3DS did not.

True to form for Nintendo, the 2DS XL is a user-friendly, cost-conscious handheld with a solid durable design and an amazing roster of great titles. The battery life is pretty impressive considering how much this system does and how bright and crisp the displays are. The stylus is stored inside the body of the console when not in use, making it very difficult to misplace. The library classic NES, SNES, N64, and Gameboy titles available in the Nintendo eShop make this a must-have handheld for anyone with long commutes. Just make sure you pick up some extra storage if you plan to pick up a lot of these digital titles.

My son is 8 and loves this. Portable, affordable and great game selection. Plus if you get Mario kart 7. Recommend getting a carrying case.

So much better than the 3DS that I had. It is light weight and stays charged longer. I love the screen resolution it has too. Worth the buy!

It’s really slim and is really good to play on everything is well informed and the tutorial makes it easy to use for first time buyers.

Awesome handheld and plenty of games for it either downloaded it cartridge. Good screens compact and small to fit in a purse or bookbag

My son loves the Nintendo 2DSXL with this large screen. He had an older version, but this is much easier on the eyes.
