Saw this in theaters and loved it so much, I had to have it for my home movie collection. Think it's a fantastic movie, and of course, Tom Hanks is wonderful. The star of the show is Helena Zengel, who I thought was phenomenal! She played a fantastic, complicated character, and was great. You can't help but feel what she goes through.

Picture transferred from 4K source is natural and beautiful. Dialog driven but nice Atmos atmospherics throughout - audio not demo worthy but fits the movie. Great story, acting, and from a genre sadly lacking these days.

Pretty good movie. The UHD picture is quite good, as is the Dolby Atmos soundtrack. It is worth watching.

Excellent action adventure. Great cast, great plot lines.

Perfect post civil war tale filled with adventures

Love Tom Hanks,seems to step up to any role that he plays. The little German actress is incredible. This movie is acted and directed to the max. Enjoyed this movie so much that we had to own. Best Buy to the rescue with a smooth delivery.

Storytelling before radio or TV shows how rugged life was

The acting by Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel are the main draws here as well as some beautiful scenery. The story is set in Texas during Reconstruction after the Civil War with Hanks character agreeing to deliver a young girl, Johanna, to her family after she is orphaned. Picture and sound quality are incredible.

I really enjoyed the movie. Tom Hanks was really good playing this different kind of role for him. The ending was a surprise to me which I hadn't anticipated,

This revisionist Western offers Tom Hanks doing what Tom Hanks does best: creating a compassionate and believable character it's impossible not to root for. He plays Capt. Jefferson Kidd, a Civil War veteran who carries the news from town to town as kind of a traveling newspaper. He is imposed upon by the US cavalry to escort a young girl rescued from Indian captivity to family in one of the towns on his circuit. Along the way, while avoiding the dangers of a frontier absent law and order, the two learn to communicate and trust each other, forming a father-surrogate daughter relationship that feels genuine. Director Paul Greengrass usually tells modern stories ("United 93," "Captain Phillips") about global events that are ripped from the headlines. Here he tells an ambling tale of a man and girl delivering those headlines. Worth a watch.

Love this story of a young girl who was raised by Native American and found alone by Captain Kidd [Tom Hanks]. Don't want to give too much away. Original story.

Excellent family movie that hits home. Tom does it again by stellar performance and mood swing challenges throughout movie. Highly recommended for cozy night watching.

A great story, flawless performances, and absolutely gorgeous cinematography. One of Tom Hanks’ best films in a career that continuously churns out hits.

I found it slow, but the story came together, plus very will acted and the photography was beautiful. Really brings the era to life as you watch. Would watch again…

Amazing movie. We don't have a 4K player, but it seems that was the only copy 4k/Blue-ray/Digital, available. so that is what we bought and it was totally worth it
