I have been looking for this to add to my collection and found it for $9.99. Great deal for this classic zombie movie.

The color version isn’t as good as the classic b&w

not so good to watch. didnt like it at all. not my favorite.

The menu for this DVD is nonexistent and it loads like a bootleg copy made on some random person's computer. In addition, the film itself is horrible quality (again, it looks bootleg). There are weird periods where it cuts to a black screen (the counter is still ticking, so the disc is still actually playing), and then cuts back into the film, cutting out pieces of it. I'm incredibly dissatisfied with the product as a whole and will be returning it.

Even those who dislike zombies films recognize the name Night of the Living Dead, which basically reinvented the zombie genre at the same time Sergio Leone was reinventing the western (which would, in turn, led to Italian studios churning out both types of pictures as though they were pizzas for a while). A woman and her brother go to their father's grave when they are accosted by an unknown assailant. The brother dies protecting his sister, who escapes by finding refuge in a seemingly abandoned house. She then finds her only assistance in the form of both a drifter and a small group (a family of three and two sweethearts) hiding in the house's basement. As the group board up the house and contemplate/debate strategy, the assailant, they realize, is only one of many that are trying to get into the house. They eventually discover where these murderers are coming from and the reason for their bloodlust. This film, released in the hot (in more ways than one) year of 1968, tapped into the ziegiest of people's feelings for authority and society in general. The black and white photography adds to the grittiness of the film and its ending is not what you'd expect.

I cannot gush enough over this movie. Insanely creepy, this low-budget gem is still the standard by which you must compare all other zombie flicks. And it hasn't aged a bit...the black and white footage just adds to the genuine feel of the film. And, unlike many films today, this one is truly horrific from start to finish...no winks, nudges or easy outs here, just creeping dread and some subtle social commentary, to boot. Even aside from the zombie genre, it's one of the best horror movies ever!

The One That Started It All! NOTLD, from the godfather of zombie films, George A. Romero. There's nothing like it. I would recommend this classic B&W horror film to any and all die hard horror fans. This film just proves that it does not have to be insanely bloody to be good. Signed, HVYMTLHORROR

Well, i am a total George A. Romero fan and this movie is his great first film. I bought this and wow, it is great. It is nothing special, it is just simply the movie. I've watched it A Lot and i LOVE IT!!!!. If you are just looking for the movie itself, this is what i suggest.

George A. Romero's quintessential classic still holds up as the ultimate zombie-fearing experience. This is a must for film collectors.
