Good But Could Be Better
Gabriel Posted
Easy set up. Picture is good although I still cannot read license plates going by. I had a hard time setting the sensitivity using the slider button. It kept reverting back to High Sensitivity even though I saved it. I selected the appropriate areas not to record then used the Vehicle, Person, Motion and Face for my settings depending on camera location and that seemed to set my sensitivity. The previous Night Owl system I had lasted 10 years. Hope I can get at least 5 years out of this one before I have to replace it. I do recommend.

Definitely worth buying!

Needed to upgrade our old camera system after 8 years. These night owl cameras are everything we were looking for and more! The spotlights are a very nice feature that our previous system did not have. We also really like that they say Smile, you're being recorded, great way to keep unwanted visitors away from your home. Would recommend this system to anyone looking to add some extra security and peace of mind.

Hi Denise, we’re very sorry to hear about your experience—that definitely sounds frustrating.
Since this order and delivery were handled through Best Buy and their delivery partner, the claim will need to be processed directly through their support team. We recommend reaching back out to Best Buy and asking to escalate your case, especially if you have confirmation from the delivery service that the package was delivered to the wrong location.
We understand how important this is and hope they’re able to resolve it for you as quickly as possible. If you do receive the system and need any help getting it set up, our support team is always here to help. - Rated 1 out of 5 stars
NOT RECOMMENDED. Find whatever less expensive.

the only good one star earned is for ease of installation and app setup; everything else is a headache. There is no easy way to contact a customer service. the referred troubleshooting "guide" online is a mere 9 QnA. I have not been able to find a phone number or email. the cameras inside are completely different from what was shown in the box picture. The app settings go back to default after saving multiple times. The cameras are supposed to be Color night vision, to date I have not find a way to make them work, not in the app, nor in the device directly. the "smart" id in the cameras shoot a thousand notifications at night for parked vehicles on my driveway, and another bizillion notifications during the day. then mix in another thousand notifications for "person detected" when a branch moves. Lowered sensitivity risking the false negatives incidents ,but still get "person detected" for nothing. I checked everywhere and no way to filter those out. Trying to review regular non-alerts playtime is triky, not an easy thing. loading alerts and trying to view previous ones cause a massive alert load, time consuming task an i end up being discouraged. OVERALL it is a PAIN, TIME WASTE, ANNOYING. Do not wish even my worst enemy to go thru this horrible experience.

A lot of notification for things that don't matter
Randy Posted
The motion‑detection on this model needs serious improvement. It consistently misidentifies pets and everyday objects as people, my dog and cat trigger “Human detected” alerts every time they walk outside, and even items like a workout bench or kid toys get flagged as human activity. I’ve had to rearrange things just to avoid a constant stream of inaccurate notifications. Accessing video playback also isn’t straightforward. You’ll need to download an additional app to view saved footage, which feels unnecessary and inconvenient. The spotlight is another frustration. It activates for every bit of movement, day or night, with no reliable way to limit when it turns on. Overall, the hardware has potential, but the detection accuracy and software experience make it hard to recommend in its current state.

System worked fine for a few months then something happened and it now says the hard drive is not connected. Other than that the camera quality is great.

Product looks cheap and low quanlity. The app requires you to allow location permission. I don't know the purpose but I want to have the option to disable it and I couldn't find a way to disable it. I was going to replace a older Samsung product to update to 4K but I ended up regretting it.

Thank you for the feedback and sorry to hear you think our system looks cheap. We manufacture our products with materials that withstand years of being outside in the elements, so we unfortunately cannot speak individual personal preferences for aesthetics. The products match exactly with the imagery so we apologize if there was any confusion on what you were receiving. With regard to location service that is at your discretion so you'd need to navigate to your privacy settings to turn on/off that if you have changed your mind. That process would depend on your type of phone/OS but for most it is found under settings>applications>Location services. Please let us know if we may provide any further support. Thanks, Night Owl SP Digital Support Team

We’re sorry to hear that the video quality did not meet your expectations. By default, the display resolution is set to Standard definition indicated by the SD icon when viewing a camera. Full high resolution video can be seen by tapping on the SD to change to HD resolution. This does increase network bandwidth needed to transmit the higher resolution which is why the default is set to SD which has lower network bandwidth usage. Please reach out to our support team at 1-866-390-1303.
