Has a bit of the Halloween feel to it. Never listened to them before and it was ok.

If you've hears any rescent Avenged sevenfold, such as there self titles, or City of Evil. you may think you know what your getting yourself into. the answer to that assumption is you are and your not. what your Gonna hear is a Tribute to Rev, Avenged Sevenfolds past drummer. This Album Is quite frankly there most emotional album yet, taking you through the twists and turns as previous albums, but with more anger, more sorrow, and more Mike Portney. Im not going to Spoil anything for Fans or Lovers of Avenged, but i will say that you wont be wasting your money at all, and you'll definatly hear 5 of there best songs ever on the latter half of the album, partly because of the roll Mike Portney Played as Lead drummer. For those that didnt know, Mike is the lead Drummer of Progressive metal band Dream Theater. Avenged invited him to play in rev's place, and he immediatly accepted. Because of this, The 3 progressive Metal songs found on this album Were given some Great Assistance, making there Final song of there album there best crack at the Genre yet! However, there is one downfall the Nightmare album... If your a new comer to avenged sevenfold, i cannot recomend this album for you until you've checked out previous albums. This album, unless heard after there previous albums, will throw you off and give you a distaste for there Outstanding music. If your New, Do yourself a Favor and check out there older music first.

i cried when i listened to the whole thing for the first time. not gonna lie. after having suffered my own tragic loss a month ago, i think the guys really tuned into what they were feeling when they wrote this and they were able to reach out in ways that far surpass their grasp in earlier albums. this album is a culmination of all of the years that the band has been together and you can hear it in every one of the tracks. it sounds like a solid combination of every one of their prior albums with lyrics that remind me of the power of city of evil and the verbal arrangement of their self titled album while the instrumental work is something that is just as raw and passionate as waking the fallen and sounding the seventh trumpet. there's no way you can call yourself a fan and not own this cd.

This is now my favorite album by Avenged Sevenfold, if not one of the best albums I have ever heard. The lyrics are amazing and Syn and Zacky delivers some of the best guitar work I have ever heard. Johny Christ does amazing on bass as always and Mike Portnoy delivers the drums of a god. Buy this album! I guarantee you won't regret it. RIP Jimmy. A7X for life!!!

My review is titled what it is in tribute to Jimmy. This CD is everything I could have expected and more, especially after losing The Rev. I absolutely adore these boys, and respect them for doing what they are by putting this out and touring it. The CD is amazing, So Far Away, written by Synyster Gates is heartbreaking. And Fiction (with lyrics sung by Rev himself) will bring tears to your eyes.

Most likely the best avenged sevenfold album of their career. This is the last album and unfortunately not with their original drummer THE REV. I am just wondering why the genre is "pop" ? That is a best buy failure...

im a hard hair band follower and miss the days of the big rock bands but this album is a good album if your into rock music i enjoy title track the most tho

THIS IS A7X MOST MATURE ALBUM!!!!!! THE MUSIC AND LYRICS ATRE PARALYZING!!!!! THERE IS ONE SONG "FICTION" THAT I BELIEV JIMMY IS SINGING BACKUPS VOCALS ON. SEVENFOLD DID AN AMAZING JOB IN PAYING TRIBUTE TO JIMMY. THEY HAVE ALL GROWN AS MUSICIANS AND IT DEFINATELY SHOWS ON THIS ALBUM. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!
