Excellent Japanese yakuza/gangster films. Great story and good action in all three films.

This Volume of Nikkatsu films differs quite a bit from Vol.1, with the first being a set of cool Japanese crime films, and the second being an equally cool set of Japanese crime/comedies - most of the set lying heavily on the comedic side. This really is more of a treat, as Arrow Video followed up Nikkatsu Diamond Guys Vol.1 with another bombshell of Japanese crime with the Outlaw VIP set and the Battles Without Honor And Humanity set, another set of pure Japanese crime cinema would seem redundant. Yes, I do realize that for fans like myself there is no such thing as too much, but I do enjoy change - and here is a pleasant change in tone and character. While we still have stories that revolve around acts of ill repute, they are also drenched in some of the greatest humor I've ever seen. Not only that, but I don't think I've seen too many Japanese films of this caliber and style - and I have seen A LOT of Japanese cinema. For fans of the Volume 1, or just for fans of world cinema, this set should be purchased and watched repeatedly. Highly recommended!

Another great crime film collection from Japan and released by Arrow Release. I think these collections are very well worth it.
