I have always loved the 35mm g lens. This is a huge improvement especially when paired with the z6. They definitely belong together. It's very light weight. The autofocus and great and so silent compared to the the g lens with the ftz adapter. I have to admit the price is not so friendly right now and this is the most expensive lens I have ever purchased but i am sure it will last me many years. The bokeh on this lens is fantastic. It's would i would imagine a 1.4 works like. I purchased this for when I travel because I like to capture a bit more for when I take landscape pictures. I would not recommend this if you are looking to take portraits. If you're just starting photography then maybe look into getting the 50mm. It's a lot more budget friendly.

I was hesitant to purchase this lens because of online reviews. I finally bit the bullet because I needed something that was wider and lighter than my 50mm S lens for a recent trip. It’s IMO the perfect travel prime lens. Great for all occasions during my travel. My images are sharp, just as you expect from an S lens. I regret not purchasing this lens sooner.

Already have the NIKKOR AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G for my previous DSLR, so wanted to get the same prime when I switched to Z-mount system. I think the focal length, aperture, minimum shooting distance, and low light capability is good for most uses. Examples are handmade Colombian bags shot with the Nikon Z 35 mm f/1.8 under basic lighting set up.

Great lens. Amazing picture quality and pairs well with my Z6ii. 35mm isn’t my favorite focal length but since I had jumped ship from canon, I only had 1 lens to go with my Z6ii. So when this lens was on sale and the others weren’t, I opted to buy it. I have been very happy with what this lens can do.

Important Lens for Nikon Mirrorless System

This was one of the first lenses released for the launch of Nikon's full-frame mirrorless system and it's a workhorse. The focal length and speed are a nice combination for indoor spaces with natural light. It's also fast enough for outdoor/nighttime with edge-to-edge clarity. The quality of build and coatings strike a nice balance with the size and the price. It's about clarity and performance more than getting an extra 2/3 stop of light from a heavy f1.4 that may not deliver a better image.

This has been an excellent lens for everything from portraits to landscapes. It is very sharp, quick to focus, and is great to give a sense of environment when shooting portraits. Build quality seems strong, and is a good size and doesn't feel too small like other lenses I've used.

This lens is one of the best four Z lenses. Great color capture, sharpness and dynamic range. Hard to beat the focal point utility of the 35mm as well. Highly Recommended! A must have in a Z shooter's bag.

Beautiful sharp lens!!! I do event photography and this lens has been so essential for shows with no flash and low light. Captures the whole moment and paired with a Z7 i can crop and still have a lot of details.

This native Nikon S lens to my Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera is an awesome addition to my gear. It is sharp, edge to edge and gives beautiful bokeh @ f/1.8. I purchased this for videography and so far I am happy with my purchase. Best Buy offered it for pickup within a couple of days and the experience was very smooth and flawless.

This is an amazing lens that really boasts some amazing capabilities. This is one of my favorite lenses for landscapes as it is wide enough to capture anything. However, it is also amazing at portraits with beautiful bokeh.

This is a top quality 35mm 1.8 lens, but it also works almost magically with Nikon's Z models to help create a nearly 3D look to the photos. Although any FX 35 1.8 will work well on the new Z cameras (FTZ adaptor required for non-S lenses), this lens was made to go with them (no adaptor required) and it shows.
