This lens is fantastic! I haven't had an opportunity to try it out on anything really good yet, but just a quick test, it can read a license plate two blocks away. The autofocus is very smooth and quiet.

I took some great pictures on my daughter's 2016 high school graduation! Pictures where so clear and beautiful! Im not a professional photographer, But i know i need a good zoom-lens, this Nikon 200-500mm did the job perfectly.

This was purchased for my 13 year old, who has a great love for wildlife photography. The images she has captured have been amazing. It is heavy but she never complains about the weight.

I really enjoy using this lens. Initially I thought I would have to always use it on a tripod. However with the image stabilization and some practice, I can get some great shots of wildlife hand-held. The images are really sharp.
When used on my D500, it effectively gives another 1.5 times on the zoom. Just wonderful with wildlife. I have also got some amazing shots of the moon with this lens.
Yesterday I saw some photos by another photographer when he used this lens on a D500 with a star tracker, 360 image stack, special software to get a great photo of the Orion and Horsehead Nebulas. I was amazed that this lens could also be used with astro photography.

This is a great lens for amateurs. And it can take great pictures without a tripod. It takes a little time to get accustomed to the weight but this certainly is not an issue when one sees the results.

I bought this for my husband to do the bird and wild animal photography, he is very satisfied with this lense and it serves his long distance photography purpose.

We originally wanted to buy a Tamron type lens to save a little bit of money but decided to go with this lens and we are so glad that we did. It is a bit heavy but that is ok because it takes amazing photos.

I bought the lense to get closer pictures of my daughter’s field hockey games and was not disappointed. Attached to Nikon D750 I was able to get clear close pictures of the action with no blur.

One of my best lenses. It takes beautiful pictures. A Little heavy but VR technology can still take perfect picture. Much easier to operate with the tripod or the monopod.

Great fro slower moving targets. Difficult without a monopod to capture sports activity as I am chopping off peopl'es heads because I cant move the heavy lens that quickly. Downfall would be the weight
Great lens for capturing birds and other wildlife.

I am impressed with the quality of this lens for the price. It’s larger and heavier than my 70-200 2.8 but is worth the effort. It really handles the light well, and colors pop. I’ve needed to keep it mounted to my monopod but believe I’ll get used to handling the weight with more use. I’ve used it so far to photograph backyard birds and squirrels but plan to use it for my son’s tennis as well. I’ve used it on my Nikon Z6 and D500. Both cameras love this lens. This isn’t a technical review, just the opinion of an eager amateur who is picky about final photo quality.

This 200-500 Telephoto Lens with Nikons Vibration Reduction is the best Lens out there for Wildlife & Bird Photography. With aperature settings at f5.6 it lets plenty of light into the camera.

I have only had the chance to use the lens twice as it is January in Iowa and not much out there to photograph. I did get a couple nice eagle shots though. Looking forward to using it more.
