People that have owned & used Nikon camera before will like this camera. I showed the picture I took @ Susan G Komen Race 4 the Cure last weekend to people & received coment like "best pictures I've ever seen," "now I know who to call to take pictures," and so on.

Nice camera but the touch screen is really a piece of...
I understand touch screens have a lot to live up to with the iPod touch, but this touch screen leaves a lot to be desired and I wouldn't pay extra for it.
There are really no touch features and you have to hit the screen pretty hard to make it work. Nothing like I expected after seeing the commercial.
The camera itself is a good point and shoot. I paid about $70 extra for the touch screen and was reallly disappointed.
If you want a touch screen camera, check out a different make or wait a while until the technology gets better.

I bought this camera online after hearing about it. I thought Nikon was a great camera company because we had an older Nikon (4200, 4 megapixel) and it took great pictures. When I got this camera, Nikon S230, 10 megapixel, touchscreen camera I was excited. Once I took some pictures, I was not. The touch screen was cool and responded pretty good to the touch but the pictures were bad. I took a few pictures in low light and they came out very spotty or grainy but still no clear detail. I then took some in better light and they looked better but not that good. I thought it might be the display on the camera (3 inch display) but then I hooked it up to my TV to see the images there and it was the same...grainy and just very poor quality. The image detail looked very "boxey", the best I can describe it. I tried different settings and the quality was the same.

OK for the money

I felt the quality of the photos was terrible, but maybe that's because I'm used to using a Nikon SLR camera. I wanted an easy to carry camera as a quick substitute for my nice one, but this reallyhas left me disappointed. However, it's very inexpensive and very easy to use.

I got a great deal on this camera the day after Thanksgiving and I love it! The features are extensive and unless you read the instructions you will be lost. I am still finding out new things about the camera, and overall the pictures are great.

Love the touchscreen...stylish and light...just having trouble figuring out how to take pics in different lighting situations...Nikon pic transfer software is quick and easy

Was going to buy the Canon 10MP 1200, but got lured in by the tough screen on the Nikon. I have had two Nikon digitals before and had no problems. As other reviewers have said, pix quality is poor, esp shots of people. Fixtured items seemed to fair ok. Am returning my purchase and am going with the highly recommneded Canon.

Do Not Buy This Camera

Bought the camera online and got the discount. Still not worth the trouble of the poor picture quality. A point and shoot camera is supposed to point and shoot, not adjust settings and then point and shoot and hope you get the picture the way you want it. If you have kids and they move around and dont sit still for long photo ops this is not the camera for you. I returned it and have bought the Sony Cybershot. Hopefully 2nd time will be the charm.
