Everything at a very convenient price. Don’t worry about changing lenses, this 120X 3000mm is amazing. I took amazing pictures of the moon, wild life and I am waiting for the right positioning of Jupiter and Saturn to take pictures.

This camera is great. Especially for wildlife and moon shots. I have both the P900 and P1000

It is awesome camera, it brings so close the objects, that it makes you wonder the reality, about the distance of the moon from us..

I hesitated for years to upgrade from my P900 to the P1000 because of the expense but now I'm glad I did. This camera is faster and has far greater telephoto capability plus raw technology.

OK, first off lets make a clear defining line between DSLRs and Point and shoot cameras. This is in comparison to other Point and Shoot cameras, DSLR's in a professional setting will yield much better pictures. Having said that, for a high power zoom camera, point and shoot there really isn't as good as the P1000. A few points to keep in mind. 1. the battery doesn't last long. you will have to buy more for all day shooting. 2. the app is very slow to connect and to transfer pictures. I use an apple dongle to transfer the SD card memory to my iPad so that I can edit on the fly 3. it's heavy. I use to take one hand over-head shots of car engines and now I have to use both hands because my wrist isn't strong enough to hold it steady Now unto the good/cool stuff... 1. the zoom!! the normal optical zoom lets me see inside craters of the moon. With image stabilization it's no problem to zoom in without a tripod, it can be done, you can rest your elbow on a table or lean against a wall. 2. macro shots... if you flip the macro shot on, you can take pictures of the watch movements and things like that, very clear and sharp. 3. portraits have excellent color rendering, even in halogen lights. 4. normal photos are quite unbelievable. many people think I didn't take some of the photos I've taken because of how great they look in comparison to the lighting conditions where they were taken. 5. it accepts 512gb SD cards... yes, I tried in my previous Sony and that caps at 128gb, the P1000 doesnt' mind. 6. I used to prefer using the flip lcd screen as a viewfinder, but with this camera, I've found it easier to use the normal viewfinder and rarely use the lcd screen 7. the bird setting lets you catch birds mid flight I don't know what else great to say, but it's all great!

I read many, many reviews for the P1000. I almost did NOT buy based on the reviews. From what I read the negatives for this camera are; small sensor size; problems with auto focus at 3000mm zoom; heavy (3#); expensive; not a professional grade camera. What I found was GREAT pictures and video with the ability to zoom to 3000mm! The auto focus at max can be tricky but you are seldom at max, you can use manual focus if needed. The lens is a little slow, but the stabilization adds a stop or two. This camera is made for the bright outdoors. Heavy, a little, but what a great lens. Small sensor, yes, that is how they get the 3000mm but the results are excellent. (Side note: this is really a ~530mm lens with a crop multiple of~ 5.6) Will you use this camera every day? Probably not but if you want amazing zoom photos and video there is nothing better in the price range. I have taken many great pictures and video of things I had not dreamed of because of the zoom capability. I would not recommend this camera to everyone but for those that want the ultimate in zoom capability this camera can not be beat. I am more than pleased with the P1000!

In day light will shoot pictures in raw format that can be converted to 50 megabytes TIFFs. As good as my full frame camera. The zoom has no comparison. It is strong and wonderful. Good pictures. So far my only downer is that it appears to focus too slow in action zooms. Still working on that. Also compared to my 50mm f1.2 and my 70 to 200mm fixed 2.8 it requires more light for the pictures. Not a drawback when you consider you are comparing a $1,000 dollar camera and lens to an $8,000 dollar set of camera and lenses.

My wife and I each bought this camera (so we have 2 of them) the day it was available. You name it, you can shoot it. The camera is a bit heavier than our Nikon 5600's but well worth it so do your wrist exercises! The sharpness is incredible. The only drawback is that the battery(At this point) has to be charged while it is in the camera, making it a little harder to carry a back up. Hopefully this will be corrected soon. I highly, highly recommend this camera!!

Love this camera, but it is very heavy. Much easier to use when you have it on a tripod. I need to purchase a better quality tripod, with the weight it moves just enough that it makes pictures blurry with my current tripod. I love having the camera and zoom lens together and not having to change lenses when I want to take zoom pictures. I was disappointed that this camera did not come with a case, for the price I think it should have. I purchased it to take pictures of the moon, Saturn & Jupiter and wildlife where I live. The moon shots are great, but because of the tripod issues Ive not been able to get a clear picture yet of Saturn or Jupiter.
