This is my first slr camera and I love it. It's so easy to use and easy to switch out the lens. Videos come out really nice and the sound is clear. Awesome choice.

This camera has been outstanding. I purchased so I had something better than a small point and shoot camera to take pictures at my daughters' college graduation. The picture quality is outstanding. I did buy a e-book on the camera and it really showed me some great things to do with the setting to even improve the pictures. Don't be afraid to take it off the auto settings and try all the features.

If you are looking for a camera to start out learning photography then the D3100 is your camera. Perfect photos in auto mode as well in all the manual modes. Nikon has built a great camera at a great price.

After many years of resisting digital SLR (I used the same Pentax manual for 30 years) I finally broke down and purchased the Nikon 3100 after weeks of researching what I needed. I will admit to feeling a bit overwhelmed since my only digital up to now has been a pocket-sized point-and-shoot, but Nikon included several DVD's and an excellent User's Manual and I'm learning fast. The picture quality is phenomenal, and I'm looking forward to mastering this wonderful camera!

I am loving my new camera. I use it daily for work. The photos that I have taken have been featured on several websites. They have been viewed by millions, and they have received rave reviews. I had to teach myself how to use the device by watching you tube videos. The instruction manual was not very helpful. The salesperson was just that. He was only interested in selling me as many products as possible. That is not what I am used to at BestBuy.

Not too big, bulky or expensive and still produces quality images for the beginning photographer or working amateur professional.

I bought this camera to take my daughters senior pictures. It was about the same amount of money to get this camera and take them myself as it would be to hire someone. The pictures turned out great and we had a wonderful time taking pictures. I am in no way a professional but with ideas from pinterest and this camera made it easy to make her pictures look expensive :)

took many 35mm pictures 30 years ago. got sick of phone camera and point and shoot. the camera is great to restart. even bought adapter so I can use all my old Konica lenses. using manual settings, results are just as good as auto settings. I rember watching the frame coun on my old camera, worrying about film cost and develpment costs. no more. love it.
