This is my 3rd Nikon SLR camera and the best so far. I also own a Nikon N80 (film) and D70 (digital). I've had my D7000 camera for a couple months now and it's been a joy to use in multiple settings. I have experimented with the auto and scene modes which are handy when you're in a hurry, as well as the manual controls and settings when I want full control of the exposure. The D7000 feels great in my hands and uses all my current Nikon lenses and gear. I particulary love the 18-200mm lens that came with this kit and rarely take it off the camera now. Two big thumbs up!

After craigslisting my Sony NEX, I ping-ponged between Nikon and Canon for months. I read reviews, pixel-peeped photos, read more reviews...drove myself bonkers. I finally spoke with a fromer co-worker who owns a D7000, and that sold me.
The D7000 is perfect for what I shoot (old buildings, landscapes, kids). The weight and balance is perfect. Don't let all of the dials and buttons wig you out; hit up youtube for some instuctionals vids and go!

D7000 is a good SLR camera for semi-pro photographers.
