Purchased to take photos of little league baseball of my grandson. The 70-200 f2.8 is awesome but wanted some additional reach. 100-400 f5.6 did just that and paired well with the z9.

Comfortable, maneuverable and reactive! I love this lens! I am using it to photograph sports like football & basketball. It is my first Z mount, I’ve been using the adapter for my F mount lenses. I can finally appreciate the quality & clarity of Z6ii during the action shots.

Great lens. Bought for taking photos of wildlife in the trip to Alaska. Also great for shooting pictures for bird outside my house window LoL. It's a bit pricy but it's worth it if you use it frequently.

Hadn’t had much of an opportunity to use this lens on my z711, but it is definitely has a top quality feel,
I was looking for a compact zoom for travel and this will fit the bill for me.

High quality optics and smooth feel when zooming. Currently using with the Nikon z7ii and getting great photos. Appreciate the tripod mount on the lens as the additional optics add some weight.

Great lens. Fast, smooth and sharp. Great for sports and travel. I've wanted this lens for months and put it on my BestBuy's alert list. Bought as soon as I was alerted. Latest word is that Nikon has temporarily stopped shipping them because the demand was overwhelming.

Bought this and returned it the second day after I barely try it on. I asked the guy at the counter when I picked up whether I'll get full refund if I do this and he said yes. Turned out to exist a 400 dollar restock fee.

I recently rented this lens and a Z9 for a Safari in Tanzania. I used a polarizer and the 1.4x tele-converter with the lens and got some amazing wildlife photos, including a leopard snoozing high up in a tree and the Kings of Namiri Plains two weeks before other lions overthrew them. I left all other cameras and lenses at home with the exception of my phone. The lens was great for photos and maybe even more impressive for videos. My main camera is a Z6 with the 24-200 and 14-30. I’ve used Nikon cameras from the D200 through the D850. The combo of the Z9 and 100-400 blew my current setup out of the water. A lot of that was likely the camera, but I was amazed at how many keepers I had vs the other setup. The only negative is the size and weight are cumbersome to travel with, but it packs a lot of power in a relatively small package similar in size to the 70-200s of old and new. I plan to purchase this lens soon to use with my Z6 and potentially a Z9 or rumored Z8 in the future.
