We depend on our flash when we are out of the studio, and after going through two other Nikon flashes, this is the only one that did not overheat and kept up with me. It has worked out so well that I purchased a second one as a backup.

This flash is noticeably more powerful than my smaller speedlight. Kills the batteries. Battery compartment and batteries are extremely hot after about 45 mins of shooting. Replacing batteries very quickly the days.

The SB5000 is absolutely the best flash that Nikon has ever made! I especially love the built in fan that will keep the unit from overheating during heavy use. You can feel confident that this Speedlight will prove to be reliable and dependable for as long as you own it.

Best flash for compatibility for all Nikon bodies. It is expensive there are some great 3rd party options for half the price. Not quite powerful enough to overpower the sun for outdoor portraits but great for fill flash. Expensive but it insures compatibility.

I finally pulled the trigger on the sb5000, it's a consistent flash in regards to color and power. Another added feature, you can still use the Nikon radio setup in addition to a 3rd party radio transmitter, the Nikon will be using the last 3 groups in the menu, while the hotshot attached transmitter uses the first 3. This is convenient when using existing multiple strobes

noise is almost impossible to hear and easy to use.

A good flash with much improved user interface. After getting this flash, I have relegated my trusty SB800s to slave duty

Flash recharges very fast. Easy to use and customize settings. Can be used in the hot shoe or off camera using the built in camera flash as a master trigger. Flash is very flexible as it allows you to tilt and rotate. The flash is the flagship and largest model, so it does add weight to the camera.

I gave this flash a three star rating only because I had to go and return it to get one that worked. The first one I received was obviously returned by someone because there was nothing in the box, other than the instructions and the speed light. All the other accessories were missing. However, the staff at Best Buy are really nice. They did a good job cheerfully refunding my money and re-ordering the speed light. When the new one arrived, everything was perfect! I’m really enjoying learning to take flash pictures once again. This SB-5000 works extremely well with my new Nikon Z7Iii

This is the best flash unit that Nikon has ever produced! It’s easy to use with no complicated menu system. The flash is compact and powerful, and the color the light throws is beautiful. This flash was definitely made for professionals wanting the very best.

This flash is fantastic. I already had the SB-900 flash and this new upgraded flash works just as good. Though the price is a bit high it is still a great flash.
