I bought a Nikon Z fc camera a few years ago when It first came out and hoped that Nikon would eventually make a similarly retro-inspired full frame version. And that came to pass with the release of the Nikon Z f. It is just what I had been waiting for. A subset of reviewers complain that the camera is lacking a built-in grip (making it hard to hold especially with bigger lenses) and for some reason Nikon does not sell its add-on grip anywhere but Japan. However, since I mainly use this camera either handheld with smaller prime lenses or on a tripod with bigger lenses, this is not a problem for me (despite being a relatively small person). It is significantly bigger than the Z fc but I think it is worth it to get a full frame retro-styled camera with all the latest internal bells and whistles of Nikon's mirrorless cameras.

All around, a superb camera. Probably the best bang for buck system out there. It's a bit hefty though, and the EVF leaves a bit to be desired. If you prefer an optical viewfinder, and don't want to squint towards a small screen, that may be a deal breaker, as it was for me.

This camera, its amazing continued firmware updates, form factor (you can add a grip for very cheap if you need it), and features... make this camera one I want to keep picking up and keep snapping pictures.

Love the retro design. Well-built and feels great on the hands. Definitely get a third party grip if you use big lenses. Eye autofocus is well improved compared to my Z6. I use a manual focus Voigtlander lens and it pairs perfectly with this camera.

Love the camera and quality of pics. Also great quality of build, but feels a bit heavier in the hands than I expected. Het a Small Grip otherwise there is no grip.

I guess this is one of the best looking retro camera in the market today for a full frame size sensor. Perfect for lowlight, fast moving and any general photographic requirement I wanted to buy this from BestBuy specifically to have the HANDS ON experience. My local Bestbuy had one display

Couldn't decide between the ZF or the Fuji XT5, after comparing the image files I chose the ZF. Love it, the look, the function and especially the images.

After getting into photography in the ‘70s. The styling , feel and control placements are much appreciated. I purchased the S 28 - 120 and the combo make outstanding photos. Very pleased with the purchase.

This camera feels like an analog Nikon Fm series. Imagine putting modern electronics inside an old, more ergonomic, and much smaller film camera. I use it with a Voigtlander 40mm lens, and it’s a dream come true.

When paired with native f2.8 or better lens this camera can do it all. Takes great videos and stills. Recommend purchasing external flash.

Upgrading to the ZF from an old F mount Nikon helped respur my interest in photography/videography. Paired with a small prime lens it’s great for carrying around town.

So clean and shoots such great photos. It’s user friendly and compatible with every Nikon Z lens and F lens with the converter. I swear by this camera

Love the camera so far... selling my Fuji x100V, (which is a great camera), to be completely Nikon with this complimenting my Z8.

The experience of shooting with this camera is amazing. If you are someone who enjoys shooting manual mode and really taking control of your camera, this is an excellent choice. If you are possibly interested in Fujifilm, this provides a full frame alternative that is worth checking out.
