Great camera. Upgraded from the D800. So far I’m happy with what this camera offers.

I’ve shot Nikons for early two decades. This is my first mirrorless camera after switching over from DSLRs. Like many who make the switch, I was skeptical. However, it’s a powerful full frame camera and compact, yet familiar in the hands an particularly when it comes to button placement and functionality.

I upgraded from the D750, the 40whatever MP sensor is incredible. the ability to overshoot your subject and crop in is astounding. the lightweight and durability and quality is unmatched. Keep in mind that the memory card is a little pricey and then finding a reader for that memory card is pricey as well.

I purchased this as a gift for my wife. She really enjoys the camera. Lots to learn but a great camera to use. Very high end.

Bought this camera as a replacement for my Nikon DSLR. Couldn't be happier, very intuitive to use, really like the EVF.

Overall, a good start for NIkon. This is a direct competitor to the Sony A7R III. My biggest concern with the Z7 is it's Auto Focus performance. Even with v2.0 firmware, I still feel it lags behind that of Sony still, but is slightly improved over previous firmware versions, so there is still room for improvement. If you own a lot of Nikon lenses (F-Mount) then this is a good choice. If you don't, maybe consider the Sony (or if you only have a few lenses or not much money invested in Nikon lenses). Or if you want better low-light performance, get the Z6 instead. The people who will benefit from the Z7 the most are those who are printing and need the high resolution. There is noticeable noise starting around ISO 3200 just as an FYI, based on my experience. IBIS is nice (just had mine serviced under the recall, so if you get one, make sure to check to see yours is not affected by the IBIS issue). Overall, I would recommend the camera. Grip is nice (one thing that Sony still struggles with that NIkon/Canon got right the first time). Plenty of customizable buttons Touch screen is nice but I don't use it for taking pictures (only for navigating menus mainly). Get it while you can while it's on sale. Don't forget you'll need XQD cards (supposedly the Z6 and Z7 will be compatible with CFExpress cards too when available via firmware update). As a side note, only the 15B batteries can be charged in-camera. 15/15A batteries will still work ,but CANNOT be charged in the camera via USB.

I am a professional photographer for over 9 years now. I have been shooting with the Nikon D3s, and the Nikon D3x. Shooting with the Z7 is a joy! The auto focus is spot on, and manual focus is fine as well. I looked at Sony, Canon, Panasonic mirror less cameras and I decided to go with the Z7. I also purchased the 24 70 2.8 s to go along with the Z and I must say it is the best lens I have ever used next to my Leica Sumicron f2. I am so very happy with my purchase!

I got to check this camera out tonight at Bedford. The evf blows Sony out of the water and the camera felt better.
