I use it almost on a daily basis. I can sautee, pressure cook, and keep warm most of my dishes. It brings an extra rubber band for the lead. Very convenient.

We have other Ninja products (blender and coffeemaker) so I know they make good quality products. This fast/slow cooker is no exception and the best cooker we have out of two other brands we have. It has a couple of features that the others don’t, such as the fast release and the display. It also has a timer and a automatic warming setting that kicks in when food’s ready. It is easy to operate and for once I can follow the instruction manual better than the other ones I have. It comes with a grill to steam vegetables but it is relatively small so we don’t really use it. It does get warm to the touch but not hot. Word of warning: the RED safety pin on the lid (see picture) gets really hot so avoid touching it, which is something I did and could not find a warning in the manual for it. It comes with a small booklet that has several quick recipes which is what we started with. It also comes with a nice First time use instructions paper which I highly recommend to follow. It’s very useful.

I have been in the market for a instant cooker for a good 6 months or so, which all of the positive reviews of how quick and easy an pressure cooker can deliver foods that generally take a longer time to achieve tenderness. I hadn't heard too much about Ninja's instant cooker, but based on my experience with other Ninja products, I thought it should be able to do the job. The Ninja Instant Cooker did the job and did it well. I thought give the Ninja a try with something easy, so I went with a barbecue pulled pork. The idea came from one of the recipes that came with the unit. I am however a person who likes to dabble outside recipes, so I risked it with some of my own creation, generating ideas from other instant cooker pulled pork recipes and did it ever come out perfect. The recipe and instructions that came with the Ninja was useful, from sauteing the meat to setting the time in temp. There isn't really much else to do, place your food and desired seasonings and sauces, lock on the lid, press the pressure cooking option, set to one of the 5 temperature settings and set the timer based on what you are cooking. There is a guide that comes along that gives you a good base line of timing and how to release the pressure (natural or quick). This pulled pork which generally take hours in a slow cooker, took less than an hour of cooking. The pulled pork just broke apart with ease. It did not come out dry and tasted wonderful. Also, after removing the food, there was no burnt stains on the non stick pot and clean up was a breeze. The only drawback to choosing a Ninja over any other brand is the lack of recipes. Ninja provides just a few along with a baseline guide for a few foods, but there is not much out there on the web. Most of what you see on the web is for a different brand and be cautious when referring to recipes specifically for other brands as the heat setting options are not the same. Ninja has a 5 heating options from low to high, vs other brands may have a setting for the food type. Does meat setting on one brand equate to high on the Ninja? Nothing out there that helps with that based on cook times, I don't think they equate. A recipe for pulled pork on another brand says cooking time with "meat" heat setting for 90 mins. Vs Ninja's recipe for pulled pork on high heat had a cooking time of 45 mins. That's a big variance in cooking time, so be cautious as it does seem that the Ninja brand instant cooker does cook faster. Hey, that's a good thing right? Like other brands that I have researched, the pot tends to have a slight curved bottom. There have been reviews on other branded items that when sauteing, the oil just runs to the outer sides of the pot. When pouring the oil into the Ninja, you can tell there is a slight curve to the bottom of the pot, but it didn't run all of the oil off to the side. I had no problem with the saute heating option other than not knowing how long it takes to heat up. It does take a few mins, so one could probably do it quicker on the stove. Other than that, I can't complain. This Ninja instant cooker does the job and does it well.

Like similar pots, the Ninja Instant Cooker covers multiple functions: Sear/Sautee, Pressure, Slow Cook and Steam. The main uses are steam and slow coo. Sear/Sautee can be used on the same dish after pressure cook to complete a dish, without using a different pan, and steam for side of vegetables. While comparing different models, the main distinguishing points, for me are: - The controls are very simple to use: The first row is the time, the second, either pressure or temperature depending on the mode. Then there is a simple mode selector, and at the bottom the power, start and keep warm. All is logically designed. The timer numbers are a nice light blue color, simple to read. There is no dizzying array of pre-set options like in other brands. - The pot is ceramic coated so it's easy to clean. - The cover is well designed. There are no latches to mess with. It will lock automatically when under pressure, and stays locked. Opens with one hand, without any force once it's done. - Pressure cookers use a silicone ring to seal the cover. Because the silicone absorbs the flavors, it comes with an extra ring, of a different color, to separate between savory and sweet dishes. What to keep in mind: - This model does not make yoghurt. - While the controls are refreshingly simple, there is no delay start function. - While removing the silicone ring is simple, it takes a minimal effort to put it back. It seems the process could've been simpler. - The pot, steam rack and silicone ring are dishwasher safe, but the lid is not. The first dish we cooked with this was a beef roast for four. It took 90 minutes in pressure cooking. When it was done, it kept the pot warm until ready to serve, and the meat was cooked through and tender. The cooker comes with an extensive cooking chart, which came in very handy, and 10 sample recipes.

What's in the box ----------------- 10-Recipe book with cooking charts 6-Quart ceramic-coated nonstick pot Extra silicone ring Ninja 6-Quart Instant Cooker Stainless-steel steam rack Pros ---- 1. Almost identical to the 6qt instant pot which means its a sturdy one. 2. Extra Silicone ring is provided free of cost 3. Simple Operation unlike the instant pot 4. Non-stick pot instead of stainless steel one. Cons ---- 1. No Yogurt function Detailed Review --------------- I like the really simple interface of Saute, Pressure, Slow cook and Steam. We cook a lot of Indian food and hence we have the instant pot and this one. Personally i like the Ninja, because it is simple. If you like to cook Mexican or Indian food this is the one for you. You can cook Beans, Indian Dal etc in a Jiffy. I used to be using a traditional cooker and now i only use either the instant pot or the Ninja. I only use 3 modes out of the 4, i use Saute, Pressure and Steam. First step is to saute the veggies and then pressure cook either with beans or pulses depending on what you are making. I have not tried cooking chicken but i would think that it will work the same way. The Non-stick pot instead of the stainless steel makes sure that the food does not stick on to the bottom. Also it is important to note that this is ceramic coated and not regular Teflon/non-stick. So it is safer than the regular non-stick cookware. Overall i like this product! Go get it!!

Ninja 6-Quart Instant cooker to be a very worthwhile purchase. I am very impressed with the stainless steel and cooking insert. It is easy to clean and heavy duty as well. My wife cooking everything on the cooker including rice. Everything came out cooked and tasted really good. The included recipe book is really good to try out new recipes. The Digital control panel is easy to use and offers convenient control for five built-in cooking functions: Pressure cook, Slow cook, Steam, Sear/Sauté as well as dual pressure levels (high and low), and keep warm settings. Five sear/saute settings allowing you control from Low to High from sauteing to searing. 1000W of power enabled fast and efficient cooking. It is Dishwasher-safe design with a nonstick interior allows easy cleaning. In addition, there is the ability to steam and the Slow Cook function offers the flexibility of multiple cook times and 3 temperature settings that yield tender, flavorful results. Whether you prefer to be more hands-on while you cook or you want to set it and leave it, the Ninja Instant Cooker will help you to make meals in a flash in one ceramic-coated nonstick pot. I highly recommend Ninja 6 Quart Instant cooker to everyone.

Have heard a lot about instant cookers but didn’t really know what they were until we (my wife) decided we needed one. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. About the size of a regular crock pot standing on end. My wife expressed concern that they had a tendency to “blow up” but Ninja must know this is a common concern because there are very simple instructions attached to a tag on the handle for testing the pressure build up and release. We did the water test and all went well. I jumped a bit when I first turned the “vent” knob on the top of the unit. The steam comes out very forcefully but not in an unsafe manner. There is a LOT of steam so I placed the cooker under our range hood while it depressurized. There was a recipe for risotto carbonara in the instructions so we tried it. Cooked the bacon and onion in the pot on sear for a few minutes, added risotto and chicken stock, closed the lid set it to “pressure” and 10 minutes later it was done. After a 10 minute cooling off period we added the rest of the ingredients and it was amazing. 25 minutes total prep and cook time. After cooking, the pot automatically switched to “keep warm” and there was plenty for 3 adults and 6 children. The nonstick pot liner cleaned effortlessly. It sears, steams, pressure cooks, slow cooks and I’m sure I’m missing something else. I think that it will be some time before we use our crock pot again as the Ninja does it all.

Pressure cooking speeds food prep as well as helps retain vitamins and flavor. I love using pressure cookers for quick meals, but this NINJA Instant Cooker is easier and almost fool proof. I made my first dish, brown rice by following the book. It was so simple and fast. The best part, no mess. The ceramic lined pot cleans up as well as teflon. The pot also has markings for quick measuring or when filling with stock or other ingredient. But, it does one better, it can be used like a slow cooker or steamer, AND has a smart timer and KEEP WARM function. Along those lines you can also sear meats as the heat settings go from 1 - 5. Cool feature: they supplied a separate gasket so you can use one for spicy food and the other for sweet treats without cross contaminating your flavors!

I am glad that I decided to buy this. Immediately it became apparent that I no longer needed my slow cooker, steamer or rice cooker. It also acts as a "fifth burner" to my stove top. I am happy with everything I have prepared so far. Boiled eggs turned out perfect.

I purchased this as a random gift for my wife to surprise her because she's been really wanting one. She was looking at some of the less expensive models but I decided to do what I always do and buy the best I can, I am glad I did because this is a very well built device. The buttons all have a very good feeling of durability to them and they are placed well for intuitive use, a good thing when you're just hungry and want some food! HA! I really like the very legible and crisp inverted LCD display, it's easy to read from across the kitchen at a glance. The possibilities of what you can do with this cooker are endless, it's like the microwave of crockpots. HAHA! Cool device, well built, easy to use... what else you want? So food, much recommend!

The Ninja instant cooker does all the functions well. It is a great convenience for fast meals and a good complement to other kitchen appliances. The only drawback is you have to be careful that it seals correctly. That can be a bit tricky and have had a couple delayed meals due to incorrect seal.
