Is it possible to call a blender cool? YEAH!

As I have decided to start eating healthier, okay I'm stopping fast food but hey its a start, I though I would begin to start by making my own smoothies. Considering my old blender that I had had since, well a long time, it was best to look to the future. Enter the Ninja Chef CT800. Not only does it solve the smoothie problem it is also preprogrammed for full on frozen drinks (including those ones you might enjoy on the beach) soup, ice cream, yes ice cream!!, salsa and dressings to mention a few. It has a lot of features and comes with a recipe book to get you started. A few things about this, it is what I would consider commercial grade. This is a solid piece of equipment without any exaggeration. Once it was unboxed I placed it on the counter to move things out of my way. Went to pick it up and it was if I were superman and it was kryptonite. Little did I know that it has suction cups that hold it in place! whew! Thought I had lost my super powers for a second. A gentle tilt and the cups released. One of the "cool factors" with this is the animated display when you turn the device on. With that, the display is easy to read in various lighting settings. Although it has many preprogrammed settings you still can switch over to manual and go from there. The dial easily adjusts your speed and has a visual indicator. So I've tried a couple recipes (salsa and broccoli cheese soup) and they are pretty good. I'll need to put a little more kick in the salsa :). Other features that are very handy include a countdown timer that will shut the blender off automatically and the best in my opinion is the cleaning feature!! Fill with water up the the clean line, add a few drops of detergent, put the lid on and press the clean button. When it's done it shuts off, rinse the container and let dry. Done! I have to say this is a pretty slick and cool blender even though it is much more than a blender.

An intelligent beast of a blender, but a bit loud

There are 10 intelligent (IQ) modes: Flour, Frozen Drink, Extract, Smoothie, Soup, Ice Cream, Puree, Dip/Salsa, Dressing, and Nut Butter.
Cleaning mode: probably my favorite! While the pitcher, lid, and cap are dishwasher safe, I much prefer to use “cleaning mode” to clean the pitcher. The blades cannot be removed and this mode cleans everything in 30 seconds!
Soup mode: I thought it was overkill for the IQ soup mode to operate for 1.5 minutes. The results convinced me otherwise. Butternut squash soup was perfect! The machine seemed to sense the resistance of the contents and pulsed until the chunks of sautéed squash were small before going into “puree” and then to “warp” speed.
I am looking forward to trying the other modes.
The 72 oz pitcher is large enough for almost any job. The tamping rod is just long enough to move the contents, but not long enough to ever touch the blades. I suggest a long, slim silicone spatula to help get everything from the bottom of the pitcher without damaging the blades, which are VERY sharp.
The only down side to this blender is the noise. Do not use the blender if anyone in the house is trying to sleep. I would even go so far as to recommend hearing protection if you use it in a confined space.
Notwithstanding the noise, the capacity, power, speed, and intelligent modes make this a top-notch product.

Industrial Strength Consumer Blender

The Ninja Chef is a real workhorse, an "industrial strength" unit made for consumer/home use. I tried the The Ninja Chef with hot, cooked salsa, and it blended my food in seconds. I also made my favorite lemon vinaigrette salad dressing; this requires a blender to emulsify the ingredients, something a hand whisk or stick blender cannot do well. The Ninja Chef was up to the task.
You can set the blender speed manually, or use the IQ function to sense the viscosity of the food in the blender. The sturdy plastic pitcher has clear markings for hot and cold foods. The Ninja Chef comes with a long plastic pusher to help get foods closer to the blades--this is much safer than using a spoon or spatula that the blades can damage, or vice-versa.
Pros:
72-oz pitcher is large, compared to other blenders.
The pitcher locks into the base, protecting the motor and blades.
Latches lock the pitcher lid.
Strong motor.
Easy to rinse and clean.
Suction cups hold the base in position.
Cons:
Tall base makes it too tall to store on some countertops--it does not fit under some cabinets with the pitcher in place.

Let me open with WOW! I have been wanting a blender with robust features for quite sometimes now and I am elated to report, “I got it with Ninja!” The blender was easy to assemble. Upon initial start of the blender, I was really impressed with its “IQ” settings which offers a great variety. The performance of this blender did not disappoint in any form or fashion. I love smoothies, as a result, I tried a smoothie that consists of a variety of fruits and berries and to my delight everything blended well, and the taste was delicious. Needless to say, this is a new “staple” in my home that will get plenty of usage!

Powerful, Smart and Excellent Blender

The Ninja Chef - 72-Oz. Blender is very impressive. It is absolutely solid and has the power and feel of a professional unit. It is well-designed and gave me confidence in using it, since I'm new to making my own smoothies and health-drinks. Because of this, I found the IQ modes especially useful: just put in the ingredients, choose the setting, push the button and let it do all the work - changing modes, pulsing and accelerating as needed. Boom, it stops and I've got a completely smooth drink.
There are a number of added attachments you can get for it, and I'm already considering them.
Bottom-line, this is a powerful, solid, smart and impressive blender that feels like something that would be found in a much higher price range.

This blender does exactly what I hoped it would, and then some. I did a lot of research on high tech expensive fancy blenders. I just could not bring myself to spend 500 dollars on a blender. Maybe if you spend that much money in a year on take out smoothies, soups, etc it is worth it. But for a normal family such as mine I think the 200 dollar price range is plenty for a nice blender. But what I got with this Ninja was much more.
I had a normal blender, magic bullet and even nutri bullet. In all of my previous blenders I simply could not get them to blend my ice drinks smoothly. All I wanted was no ice chunks. I could not get it right. So I had a co-worker tell me that they just shelled out big money for a Vitamix blender and that it blended their drinks perfectly with no ice chunks. I was jealous. But I also did not want to spend that much like I stated earlier. Then after a lot of research I found out that this Ninja blender was comparable to those high end blenders but at a fraction of the cost.
After trying this blender out once, I am sold! I immediately loaded it up with ice, a scoop of my mocha coffee drink, and milk. I then turned the dial to "ice drink" and hit the start button. It automatically sets a timer and then blends at variable speeds. It beeps when it is done. Then out came the most perfect iced mocha drink that I have ever blended at home. I was in love! I no longer need to go to the golden arches for my beloved mocha frappe, which is why i bought the powder mix to begin with. i just didn't have a blender up to the task.
The automatic settings are awesome! You just move the dial then push start, it reminds me of the push to start on my car! There is a manual feature of course but I have yet to use it since the auto settings cover pretty much everything.
Cleaning it is super easy as well. You just put some dish soap in it and some warm or hot water and hit the clean button. It then blends at variable speeds and all you have to do is rinse it. Awesome!
I cannot say enough about this blender and I guarantee it is as good as those expensive high end blenders. If you search some comparisons online you will see how the power on this Ninja is only slightly less powerful than the expensive competitors but at less than half the price.

I love this blender, it is just a beast. It will go through any type or texture of food with ease. We’ve used it for smoothies, dough for bread, and making salsa. Smoothies are fast and silky smooth.
This thing is loud, but for how good it is, it’s a trade off I’m ok with.
The one thing that I really like, is the cleaning mode. After use, just put in warm water, some dish soap, and hit the button. After about 60 seconds, it finishes. Pop off the lid pour out the soapy water, rinse and you are clean.
Everything about this blender is awesome, no negatives that I can think of. I’d recommend this to anyone who needs a blender. So much power!

This Ninja Chef 72 Ounce blender is a beast. It blends through frozen ingredients to make a smoothie with ease showing off its 1500 watts of raw power. The Auto IQ programming and digital user interface is very user friendly. I can't wait to use it to make some salsa and soup. I really appreciate the clean function on this unit. It makes the cleanup a breeze. This unit also comes with a push stick for when the item you are blending needs a little help getting down into the well designed blades.

Blender with Function Over Form

This blender works much better than any other blenders I have used. Hence, the functionality of the blender is fantastic. On the other hand, what makes the blender work so great also has associated negatives - mainly the large size and the noise. Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
The best thing about this blender is just how well it works. I have used it to make shakes and smoothies and have already learned that it mixes better than most blenders. For example, I made a smoothie with mostly fruit (very little liquid). Other blenders would require much more liquid in order to get the ingredients swirling and finely blended. This blender, because the base is so wide, can move the ingredients around without much liquid. In fact, the smoothie ended up almost like a sorbet, and had no chunks in it. This is important because my youngest son will not eat chunky smoothies. Another example is how we used the blender to make a shake. The first shake we added a lot of milk and it was kind of runny. The second time, I literally just added ice cream and cookies and the blender was able to blend it together in very little time without having to add any milk. Pretty impressive. Another nice thing about the blender is how large the pitcher is. It can hold and process a lot at once, which is great for making soups or processing vegetables from the garden.
On the negative side, the only things I would say that I don't like about this blender are its size and the amount of noise it makes. First, the size of the blender is pretty large. That means it takes up a lot of storage and is too big to be left on our counter when not using. With that said, the reason it is large is because it is very stable (suctions to counter), has a powerful motor, and because it can hold a large amount of ingredients. The second negative is the sound. While using the blender, my wife and kids started using hearing protection. My wife mentioned that it sounded like a jet engine. While I agree that it is louder than other blenders I used, I wouldn't say that it is that much louder. Plus, I assume some of the noise is generated because it has a more powerful motor.
Overall, the blender works great despite the size of the base and noise. If you are also looking for function over form, then I would highly recommend this blender.

I was really excited to get this blender because I love making smoothies every morning. I recently was thinking of creating my own home smoothie bar and I now have the perfect blender for my station! When I say this is by far the most solid blender I've ever come across for home use I mean it. There may be bigger and better models, but for the price this thing is hands down the best I've ever owned. It replaced a kitchen aid blender if that tells you anything. The blender container itself is super solid, and easy to clean. There's a nice lock down latch or a hole in the middle to prod at food that is stuck. The blender portion locks into the base and honestly is one of my favorite parts of the blending process. Locking it down just FEELS good. The blender itself has a bunch of different "IQ" settings for different items. I personally haven't tried all that they have to offer, I only have used the smoothie setting so far. The smoothie setting does a great job, but it blends it for over 30 seconds, which imo is overkill. It does a great job breaking up the ice in the beginning but about halfway through the process could be considered completed. With that in mind I either just shut it off early or switch to manual blend. There is a cleaning function as well that works really well to clean the inside of the blender. The display itself is very slick and easy to use. The only thing I did notice is the blender tends to give off a burnt smell when blending for a while. I'm not sure if that's because it's new and breaking in or if it'll always smell like that, but it is something i noticed. To be honest though it didn't bother me enough to rate this blender any lower. The smoothies come out delicious every time and that's all I care about. All in all I am very pleased with this blender and would recommend it to anyone looking for a very solid blender that almost feels like a borderline professional smoothie machine. This thing is a BEAST and I look forward to many more great smoothies!

Up to this point, I have been using an Oster multi-speed blender. It always "did the trick" but never really created a consistent smoothie. This Ninja blender does all that and more. I can now put rolled oats into my smoothies and have them come out virtually texture-free.
My wife used it to make a summer squash soup last week, and it handled that with ease. I was able to make a nice small batch of homemade peanut butter with it as well. All of the custom IQ settings work well and seem to handle everything I've thrown at it thus far. The clean feature is really nice and super simple. If there was anything negative to say about this blender is that it is loud, but all blenders with this power are noisy (even the much more expensive ones). I'm looking forward to adding the single serve cups to make blending drinks much simpler.

I have to say I love this blender! I use it daily for my green shakes and also frozen drinks from time to time as well. My last blender it was a process to get everything blended to the right consistency and it took a lot of time to get it perfect. But with the Ninja it honestly makes blending though my green veggies, ice fruit and pretty much everything else if thrown at it with ease. Great addition to my kitchenware you wont be disappointed especially with the different speeds and settings.

I've liked Ninja blenders for quite some time because they're pretty heavy duty machines that do a great job but at a consumers price point. This one is another example. If you're looking for a blender to knock out some smoothies or frozen drinks, it'll take care of it. Looking for something to make for dinner? There's a pretty nice recipe book with a lot of suggestions. I, personally, really like it. My favorite thing is definitely the "auto wash" setting. Just needs a little bit of warm water and it cleans itself! My biggest gripe with most blenders is definitely cleaning up when you're done, so this is a super positive for me.
So, bottom line, if you want a GOOD blender and this is in your budget, I'd recommend it. It does a lot of things (possibly replacing your food processor as well) and is a breeze to clean up.

This blender is by far the best I've ever had. The presets are timed perfectly. The display menu is clean and clear. There is a pulse button to add a few more spins to your mix if needed, but I haven't really needed to use it.
It is simple to disassemble and clean. It is also heavy enough to run without having to hold it down.
The included recipe book was a welcome treat, as I had no idea that is was possible to make some ice cream and sorbet treats in a blender.

This blender makes the smoothest smoothies I mean not a cup of ice in it when you blend it. And the IQ blending system works perfectly with no guesswork. I love how you have the access at the top when you can drop fruit in as you make a smoothie or any kind of blended drink. It almost stole the show at my last Friday night party people were Amazed by it. Ninja has just set the bar very high and I love it. Well worth looking into

I like the size of the blender. 72oz is a lot. The blender is big enough to make smoothies for 3 and chop up everything to make it smooth. It is also good for blending up a pot of soup. You no longer have to do it in batches. Just one and done. Awesome! With all the features it can be very versatile, but still do the basics. This one has earned a spot in my kitchen.
