Easy to use. Pizza rolls, mozzarella sticks delicious. Even kids can use. The only con is the metal wire rack is hard to get out of basket once hot. A design flaw but can work around it.

Gift was bought for a friend at work - Birthday gift. She loved it. Air fryers are always nice, especially the Ninja brand. She made some bomb chicken wings during her first time use. Got the Ninja at a discounted price on sale for about $ 80.

Finally a kitchen gadget that lives up to the hype

I've had my share of the latest and greatest kitchen gadgets that either turned out to be a fail or added so much extra work it wasn't worth it. So I resisted buying an air fryer for the longest time, as much as I wanted one. I do like the occasional fried item, but deep fryers seemed so wasteful to me and dirty as well. For a single guy, it just didn't seem to make sense. And I just didn't believe that air fryers worked that well and even if they did, what's the use of buying a gadget for just fries? When the opportunity presented itself to check out the Ninja Air Fryer, I was skeptical but having a pleasant history with some other Shark/Ninja branded products in my house, I figured it was worth a shot. I never expected to love it this much though! So easy to use that once I did my first item in it, I haven't looked at the manual since. You pick it up pretty quick - preheat, put the food in, set the timer and then give it a little shake/toss a couple of times during the cook time. Seriously, that's all there is to it; every other recipe is some remix of those steps. Fries come out golden brown and crisp outside, white and fluffy inside completely free of oil. It's definitely quicker than the oven and more efficient too, since you're not spending all that energy heating the void of air in your oven, just heating the food. And not just fries, but all kinds of fried delights. I've used it to warm up take out egg rolls and they come out like fresh ones. I've cooked sausages and hot dogs in mine and they taste like they came off a grill! Hamburgers too! In fact, I keep finding new uses for it the more I think of it. You can even use it as a food dehydrator! This came in super handy when a good harvest of Summer veggies and herbs left me with more than I knew what to do with. The timing couldn't have been better. It's very versatile as a cooking method and very precise. (And because it's so easy to clean, I'm more willing to experiment with putting new stuff into it!) Best of all, it's super clean to use; it doesn't fill the house with a fried food smell and the lining of the basket is one of the best non stick surfaces I've ever used - everything just wipes off of it. If they ever put that coating on a set of pans, I'm buying it for sure. Cleaning is so easy that you find yourself using it a lot more often. I've been using mine at least once a week since I got it. No more lining the stove with aluminum foil and airing out the kitchen. As I said, many of my previous purchases have ended up either in the back of a closet somewhere or donated to charity. Not this one though. It's out on my counter and in use regularly. I'm finding new recipes for it on Google and I'd definitely buy another one once this one wears out - which should be quite a while based on how solid it's made. If it's anything like my Shark vacuum cleaner I'll be using it for years. Trust me, this is one kitchen gadget that not only lives up to the hype but actually surpasses it.

My family enjoys how simple the instructions are to cook with the Ninja Air Fryer. The food has amazing flavor. The skin of chicken is crispy. I like to bake chicken but it doesn’t have that crisp the air fryer gives. This is one of my favorite ways to cook.

    Wife’s verdict? “Wow . . ."

Ninja Air Fryer (AF101). Wife’s verdict? “Wow . . . I’ve been trying to get my French fries close to restaurant quality, forever. The Ninja got it right on the first try.“ I need to be charitable here as I describe our previous (unsuccessful) efforts at cooking fries. Soft and soggy, or dry and cracker-like, or just burnt. We adjusted our expectations and rarely bothered to invest the effort to add fries (or similar sides) to a lunch or dinner. We’re now experimenting with other foods. The Ninja Air fryer is able to turn those “I wonder if it’s worth the effort” cooking tasks into, “Ooo, I’ve got to add this to the menu.” Success is very motivating. This is a very easy-to-operate, average noise-level, efficient (1550 watts) air-fryer. The Ninja uses a ceramic coated basket that has a ceramic coated crisper plate (optional use) and stainless steel rack to add another layer of cooking. The basket pulls out easily (the handle stays comfortable), and a simple shake or stir with tongs lets you ensure even cooking or check for doneness. Little heat is lost and you can stop fretting about heating up the kitchen or lengthening cooking time. Cooking times are always shorter than you’re accustomed to, but they get easy to predict with experience. The easy-to-use interface has a temperature setting from 105 up to 400 degrees for it’s 4 functions (Dehydrate, Reheat, Roast, Air Fry). The timer varies depending on functions, but can air-fry up to an hour, roast up to 3 hours, and dehydrate for 12 hours. It has a 14”x11” footprint and is 13” high. It should cook a 2-pound bag of fries. SUMMARY: The Ninja isn’t a small appliance. But, when you consider how flexible and useful it is substituting for an oven, while using a fraction of the energy, cooking time, setup time and cleanup time, we’ve concluded it’s earned its place on the countertop. As a fryer, all the above is still true, but the significantly lower amount of oil needed (and discarded) also makes it a healthy decision. We like the Ninja, and the expanded menu options, quite a bit. Recommended highly.
