    Precision Flexibility and Surprising Versatility

I went hard into BBQ during Covid with a couple of smokers because the price of food skyrocketed and some of our favorite smokehouses shut down and we couldn't eat out anyways. The one thing I missed was the ability to get cooking quickly without having to light up the charcoal. To get one of my ceramic grills up to temps, it can take 30 mins with a chimney or torch and when you're tight on time with hungry kids, especially during the work week, that means I often just made burgers in my kitchen instead of grilling outside. The FlexFlame uses propane but has some electronics to get you cooking with precision quickly. Just turn on the propane, set your temperature range (number of burners), close the lid and you can get to prepping or bringing out food. The grill will beep and show you the temp and there's a convection fan to help move air and keep everything cooking evenly. This also allows you to put in some wood chips into the smoke drawer to get that smoke on your food. Since I already have ceramic smokers, I focused on the cast iron griddle. As mentioned my main focus was to be able to make Philly Cheesesteaks, Smash Burgers, hot dogs and brunch/breakfast so I also bought the full carbon steel griddle plate. It is an expensive accessory but it is extremely high quality, fits perfectly into the FlexFlame grill and has a built in grease drain that allows you to clean and push grease and food scraps into the drain, which then flow into the drain pan under the FlexFlame Grill. I was super happy with the results, it only took about 5 mins to get up to 375-400 and I was cooking both cheesesteaks and hot dogs on the large griddle. Very uniform temperatures and cook quality, just rolled the hot dogs with gloved hands and let the ribeye for cheesteaks cook before I put velveeta and american cheese on, while toasting rolls on the top shelf. I'll make more on the griddle over the summer and even try smoking food like ribs, brisket, pork shoulder as I'm curious how much propane is used for longer low and slow cooks. If it uses less propane than charcoal, I may do more smoking on the FlexFlame and save the ceramic grill for the longer low and slow cooks. The FlexFlame unit itself is extremely high quality, it has a 10 year limited warranty and the firebox is really well made. Double-walled stainless steel to help keep temps, very solid side tables, great feeling handles and knobs. The stand components didn't feel as high quality, I think the stand metal and the electronics may be the first things to go. Speaking of which, the electronics seem really exposed, just a bunch of wires going into the control unit which is likely the first failure component with the electronic starter, convection fan control, temp control and smoke box smoldering. Putting the grill was very easy overall, I watched the 6 minute video from the 2 BBQ dads from FlexFlame and just paused as I went. Make sure to READ the subtitles in the video as you go, don't just go by the narration as there's important stuff in the subtitles too, like EMPTYING the fire box before you lift it. The only part that I thought was a bit questionable was putting the control panel in. That process can definitely be improved, you have to kind of slide in this little plastic holder, then screw the control box into the side table while it hangs at a weird angle and one of the screws is almost completely hidden. Its a bit of an adventure but I got it done. That's also the only part where you really need to use their extra long screwdriver, which is handy to keep around too. I used an impact with long bit for most of the screws and that sped things up. Overall its not any harder than putting together furniture for your kids, but you'll definitely want help to lift the fire box onto the base. I can't wait to try smoking some food but I think it'll be smash burgers tomorrow. Maybe I'll do some St. Louis style spare ribs this weekend. A few other things you'll need if you've never grilled before is an outdoor power source with extension cord, the cord under the FlexFlame is only like 4 inches. You'll also need a propane tank, the first time you need to "buy" the tank + gas, so it'll cost you like $60-70. After that, you may want to keep a spare so that's another $60-70 to make sure you never run out of propane during a cook. Then after that you can just fill the empty one for $20 or so. You'll also want some quality tools for grilling if you don't have some already. And as I mentioned the accessories that go with the FlexFlame will also cost you some money, like the griddle plates or pizza stones. Definitely going to try to do pizza too as that uses a ton of charcoal in my ceramic grills.

    MAKES SMOKING MEAT EASY

The Ninja FlexFlame Electric and Propane Grill has charged everything I’ve come to know about grilling or smoking meat. It has 5 different cooking styles in this on grill, but to accomplish all 5 you’ll need to buy so accessories. My main focus for this little gem was cooking high quality meat for my family. Setup for the Ninja FlexFlame requires at a minimum 2 people. I would not recommend trying this put this grill together alone. The main reason is that it has quite a bit of weight to it. Other then that its quite easy to assemble. The instructions are detailed and it’s boxed with all the required tools and the hardware is packaged in order of when use them. Make sure to have an extension cord, because one will be needed to plug in this grill. It took be about 30 minutes to fully assemble this grill. Not only does the Ninja FlexFlame come with well laid out assembly instructions, it also comes with instructions on how to use it. Inside this booklet you find how to grill, smoke, bake and other things. It explains how to use each feature and what temps to set the grill at for the best possible results. They also added in a few recipes that I’m sure I’ll try over the course of using this grill. My impression of the Ninja FlexFlame is this, I think it truly is the future of grilling and smoking meat. For my first use, I put on a nice sized tomahawk streak. I wanted to smoke it and then reverse sear it. I’m glad this grill has a digital temperature gauge built into it so that you can see in real time what the temps are under the lid. I wanted to smoke this meat at a low temp before the sear and ended up having to adjust the temps down to keep the cooking temps down. I suggest using an internal meat thermometer. Once I had my meat at the temp internally that I wanted, then I removed the tomahawk and set the grill to 600 degrees which it easily reached and was able to put a really good sear on my steak. Just note that there are two sides to the grates on the grill and the flat side is used for searing. I cooked some ribeye steaks a few days after the tomahawk and taking what I learned from my initial cook I was able to smoke them to almost perfection and without using an internal probe. I was able to set the temp on the grill at a temp a little lower than what I wanted and noticed that grill actually climbed to the temp I wanted and stabilized. Using my desired wood pellets, the perfect amount of smoke was infused into the steaks and everyone was thoroughly pleased with the flavor. I have used this grill for multiple times now and with each use I have come to realize how easy the Ninja has made grilling and smoking. Not only does the meat come out tasting great it also cooks in less time which for me is an added bonus. What I like about the Ninja FlexFlame is how easily you can prepare a good piece of meat without and how well it does. I also like how versatile it is. What I dislike how I had to chase the temps in the beginning and that for the price, all of the accessories aren’t included. Other than that, this is an amazing grill and I highly recommend this grill for a grill that virtually does it all.

It will take a little time to put the grill together if done without help, but it's not hard to do. The base is assembled first and the top unit is a fully assembled unit. Called a neighbor to assist putting the top section onto the base. Smaller parts are segregated by their step in the assembly process, making it easier to put together. The included screwdriver is pretty long and rightfully so. The grill is easy to use. I've used it to grill steaks and to do a 9-hr smoke. The only issue with using the smoke feature, it doesn't have a large pellet capacity. I found that it was necessary to add pellets approximately every 30-minutes. Smoked a pork butt and it was delicious. The grill doesn't have an organic thermometer, so I recommend getting one at the store. Looking forward to roasting something next!

Great grill and smoker. Does as advertised, smokes really well and works as a basic propane grill really well. I havent tried all the pizza and extra stuff on it yet but for the basic functions most people are gonna be looking at this unit for, itll get the job done well. The nice thing is its kind of an ez mode for smoking and grilling with the precise temperature controls

I have been a huge fan of Ninja products ever since the release of the Foodi. They are incredibly innovative products. The Ninja Foodi for instance ingeniously combined a pressure cooker with an air fryer resulting in what quickly became an essential kitchen appliance in my home. The Ninja Creami was a whole new creative take on ice cream making. With the Ninja FlexFlame, Ninja had it’s sites on the backyard grill. The Ninja innovative twist here is that the FlexFlame grill has multiple personalities, because it’s also a smoker and a griddle and a roaster and a pizza oven. Plus, it’s powered by propane but it’s also electric to power the FlexFlame’s Cyclonic convection fan. I think this level of outdoor cooking flexibility in one product is brilliant. However, some of this flexibility comes at an additional cost as add-ons from Ninja. The griddle is available is 2 sizes a full and a half size version. For pizza, you’ll need the pizza stone. I do wish these were included with the FlexFlame to enjoy all the cooking options right out of the box. I already had a pizza stone but I did order the half griddle. Upon arrival I was surprised by the size of the FlexFlame box. You’ll need some help to maneuver it, unpack it, and to assemble it. I have assembled plenty of grills in my life and I frankly dreaded assembling the FlexFlame. To my relief it was quite painless. The manual offers concise step by step instructions and all parts and hardware are clearly labeled. Ninja has an entertaining assembly video online which I recommend. It’s great to see each step completed so you know you’re doing it right. My assembly time with assistance was roughly 90 minutes. The FlexFlame is nicely made and looks great. The grills dimensions are about 4 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 2 feet deep and weighs about 130 pounds. The grilling area is 544 square inches so plenty of room to feed a large gathering since there is room for about 18 burgers or 4 racks of ribs. I like the extra storage area next to the propane tank area for some of my Ninja grilling accessories. The two large side tables are convenient but I do wish they were collapsible when not in use. This would significantly reduce the FlexFlame’s overall footprint in the event that storage space is a concern. For maneuverability the FlexFlame is on a great set of lockable casters. With assembly out of the way I was ready to start cooking. I always wanted a pizza oven so I thought that was a great place to begin. Just fire up the FlexFlame and put it on the pizza setting and crank the temp to 600 degrees. Once at temp, I ran let it go an additional 15 minutes to insure the pizza stone was hot. On went the pizza, and only 5 minutes later it was done to delicious perfection. I was impressed! This pizza was seriously restaurant quality on my very first attempt. How about the taste of a wood fired pizza? Just add pellets to the hopper and hit the woodfire flavor button. Oh my! Next on the menu was baby back ribs. I did 2 racks, 4 would have fit. I just followed the guide that came with the FlexFlame and did low and slow at 250 degrees and done in under 4 hours to tender juicy perfection. I off course used the woodfire smoker multiple times throughout. Like more smoke just use the smoker more often. I was concerned that maybe I’d need to keep moving the ribs to avoid burning but the Cyclonic convection fan distributes heat evenly so there is less concern of hot spots. I’ve grilled chicken wings, burgers, and steaks. Again I used the quick start guide as a reference for cooking times. The Cyclonicheat-iq also speeds up cooking times all around and results in crispy food on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. As mentioned earlier the griddle isn’t included but it is a great add-on which I’ve enjoyed for breakfast cooking of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. I’ve also done fajitas and smash burgers. I just love the flexibility of the FlexFlame. I should point out that the convection fan is somewhat noisy with a low hum. Perhaps a bit annoying if you’re socializing in its vicinity while cooking. There is one feature that is sadly missing in the FlexFlame and that is temperature probes with remote app monitoring. Ninja includes this feature on some their other grill products. I bet this feature appears on a future version of the FlexFlame. The FlexFlame is yet another revolutionary Ninja product which takes the barbecue grill to a new level of multifunctional outdoor cooking. I am really looking forward to using the FlexFlame for entertaining family and friends for the upcoming summer holidays. Highly recommended.

I was so excited about this product. While assembly instructions were super easy to follow I am disappointed in the unit itself. It worked well the first time, the grilled meats cane out great. It was easy to start the unit and use it. However, during the second time of use, less than 10 seconds into use, the electrical panel caught on fire. I had to unplug it and shut off the LP as I was scared it will blow up on me i returned it. Not buying again, this grill scared me.

Ninja has been absolute beasts for the past couple years as they’ve put out more and more game changing small appliances. It has easily become a favorite brand in our household, and now that they have moved into full size grills, our family is even more in love. We are a grilling and smoking family as it is and knowing how great Ninja is, we had high expectations for this new FlexFlame electric and propane grill, and boy it has not been a disappointment. We often joke now when the time comes to decide dinner each night, the saying is “okay, which Ninja product are we going to use to cook tonight,” as our go to has usually been the air fryer, but now with this grill it is our new go to. The Ninja FlexFlame grill was pretty straightforward to assemble, it took two to three of us to move the grill around due to its weight, and then two of us to assemble it, but the instructions were easy to follow and we even found that the unboxing and assembly videos right on Ninja’s website were a great resource as well. It was interesting to see how this combination of electric and propane compares to our standard propane only grill. Besides it being fascinating to see it in action, we can certainly tell a difference in the taste and cooking quality of our food, especially with the smoke flavoring added to it, something that is definitely missing with just a propane grill. Our chicken breasts all had a unique flavor to them that we enjoyed, despite using the same seasoning/marinating option we usually use, the smoker added to it just elevated it. We all agree the cyclonic air fan is another huge game changer for this grill, it definitely seems like everything is heated more evenly compared to our standard grill. We have not had the chance yet, but we can tell once we start making pizzas in this, we will not be able to stop, we can tell the roasting of the top will be great. And a huge plus is how quickly the cyclonic air fan stops when you open the top so you do not get a face full of smoke or hot air. We also noticed we can hear the grill making small adjustments with the flame and fan as it works to keep the grill perfectly heated, it is such an upgrade from a standard gas or charcoal grill. The grill also seems to be built very well! I know many may be intimidated or turned off by the higher price point, but I can comfortably say that this grill feels very well built and like it will last longer than many grills that are on the market. I consider it a very good investment considering how many different meals you can cook on it, as well as how many other smaller kitchen appliances and outdoor appliances this can replace. I am thrilled I will not need to invest in a separate smoker, a separate pizza oven, a separate griddle, the possibilities are truly endless with this machine and I look forward to all the meals our family will have from it.

I have used Ninja Air Fryers before so I knew going in the product quality was going to be great and I still was not prepared for what I was in store for. Before I talk about how the grills work and cooks, let us talk about assembling the grill. The instructions state it will take about an hour to complete assembly. I would say it took me about 90 minutes to assemble. And you will need a second person to help you place the grill box on the top of the base. One great feature is Ninja has the BILT app available to provide 3-D videos and audio to correctly install the grill. While the grill does offer paper instructions, having the BILT app made the assembly so easy. Now with the grill assembled, it’s time to test it out! So, the grill has four settings: Grill/Pizza – between 450 - 600 degrees 2-Zone - between 350 – 500 degrees Roast/Bake – between 300 – 450 degrees Low and Slow – between 200 – 300 degrees Now, while the grill uses propane, the grill is electric as well, so you will need an extension cord to plug it in and start the grill. The grill also comes with wood pellets to use to add woodfire flavor in the pellet box on the right side of the grill. You need to pre-heat the grill to your desired temperature and then start the wood pellet. Now actually using the grill, I placed some flanken ribs on the grill. While the grill said ten minutes, I knew the flanken ribs were very thin and ten minutes would be too much. I cooked the ribs for eight minutes…and eight minutes was still too much. They were perfect for well done, but I prefer the meat to be closer to medium, so the next time I use it for thin sliced meat, I will go six minutes. The Ninja FlexFlame Outdoor Cooking System is an amazing grill! Now there are some additional accessories that can be purchased with the grill and can enhance your experience. The accessories are: - Full and half griddle - Artisan Pizza Stone - Grill Basket for vegetables - Stainless Steel Grates At this point, I’m more than happy with what the grill offers. While the price is higher than most grills, the quality of the grill and everything it offers is worth it.

    Versatile and Modern Gas Grill

The Ninja Flex flame is a mix between gas grill, convection oven, and smoker kind of all in one. You get all the great features of having a gas grill but you’re also introduced to the precision of a digital dial that adjusts your flame to the perfect setting for what you’re cooking, all of which is capable of infusing smoky flavor. --Performance I’m impressed. The convection fan that circulates the air evenly inside helps the grill get up to temperature very quickly and also provides a more even cooking while still delivering everything you love about a gas grill. For something like burgers, I would set the grill to the hottest setting of 600 degrees and allow the grates to get hot to get the best grill marks. Then I would bring temperature down to 400, allow even cooking of these 1/2 inch burgers which came out perfectly cooked and were delicious. Next I wanted to give the smoker a try so we went with some pork ribs that I wanted to smoke at a lower temperature but also not take all afternoon to cook and eat. We did a dry rub and placed the ribs directly on the grate. Pellets were easy to load and only took a few minutes to begin smoking. I did notice mine caught fire, but I simply blew out the flames and the smoke was rolling. I’m not sure how often that happens as this is my first experience with smoke pellets, but it didn’t affect the smoke flavor. I used a thermometer to monitor the temperature and basted with some bold and spicy barbecue sauce about 10 mintues before reaching temperature, getting a nice sticky glaze on the outside. The convection fan I believe maximizes the heat and smoke being generated and really infuses the smoke flavor while evenly cooking the meat on all sides. --Features The digital dial is useful to get the temperature setting you want and to know when your grill is ready for whatever your throwing at it. I was a bit apprehensive about having to plug in my grill, but honestly, the time I save with the convection fan, and likely the gas too, It’ll likely pay for the dedicated outdoor extension cable I purchased for it in the long run. What is also great is each setting utilizes a different set of burners, depending on the setting. While the higher temperature setting may use all three; front, middle, and rear burners, other settings may only require one. As mentioned, the smoke box located on the side has a nice spring-loaded lid that you can pour pellets in. The pellet cage is removable so you can empty ashes. Another removable item is the drip tray, which you can buy disposable foil traps that will make clean-up much easier. You can always make a liner out of foil, but I always recommend a few layers in case you have holes. You can also accessorize by visiting Ninja’s website where you can get an extended roasting rack, pizza stone, or a full size or half griddle that replaces the grates for flat top cooking of pancakes, smash burgers, or my favorite, a good potato hash. It was also nice to see full swivel casters with front locking wheels. Not only does it make this grill easy to move in and out of my garage which is where I choose to store mine, it’s also nice knowing it won’t roll away with the wheels locked. --Assembly I’m incredibly impressed with assembly. Ninja has partnered with BILT, which is an app that provides 3D models of each step, reading the steps out loud, and easily replay, move forward, and back steps. Paired with the BILT app, was very clearly labeled parts, very well packed screws. The screws came in one of those screw strips, but instead of having one pouch with 30 of the same screw, each step had “pouch of screws” and you literally worked your way down the strip as you went through each step. It was one of the easiest and stress free assemblies I have ever done. Be sure to fully unpack the box, including the few boxes inside the lid, and underneath the cook box, but everything was there and precisely labeled. While I’m sure this type of packaging comes at an additional cost to the consumer, in my opinion, it is well worth it. I think Ninja should advertise how easily this grill assembles. To be honest, the hardest part of assembly, was getting my wife to help me lift the main box onto the frame, and removing the stickers! Seriously, some of the stickers where kind of a pain when compared to assembly. --Final Thoughts I think it’s worth mentioning that Ninja offers a 10 year limited warranty. Which means they believe in the durability of this product. Everything seems very well made and high quality. I have a feeling while people may be apprehensive at first with the electric outlet, once they try it, hear about it, see it, they’ll be believers that this is the modern outdoor grill that makes delicious food.

    Feature Rich "Hybrid" Grill

I referred to this as a "hybrid" grill because this is the first grill I ever saw that needs to be plugged in. Not only does this power the igniter, but the grill has a temperature control and a built in circulating fan. For someone like myself who is not a "grill master," so to speak, the electronic controls and dials (that will activate one, two, or three gas burners) do help ensure a consistent temperature when grilling. To begin, if there is anything in the product advertisement that says "some assembly required," consider that an accurate statement. It took me about 1.5 hours or so to fully assemble this grill. Be sure to have a second person available as well (to help mount the grill box itself to the pedestal). I must say, however, I was really surprised by how well the grill was packaged, how clear the written directions were, and the attention to detail that was put into the packaging. (As an example, the screws/nuts for each step were sealed in their own little plastic compartment in a long bag and were well labeled (with each little compartment being sealed to the next in order). The build quality was also impressive. I have had numerous stainless steel gas grills before and even expensive grills (that cost more than this one) always felt somewhat flimsy. That is not the case with this grill... Once assembled, it was very sturdy (and the documentation states the grill can withstand 40 mph winds). As already mentioned, you must have an outlet nearby (and an outdoor rated extension cord) to plug in the grill as it has a blower fan, igniter, and electronic temperature control. Luckily for me, I had an outlet relatively close to where I wanted to place the grill. If you do not have an outlet nearby, this grill would be a non-starter for you (no pun intended). As far as cooking is concerned, make sure the grill is plugged in, turn on the gas, and then use the main dial to ignite the grill. You set the grill to a particular temperature range, which will change the number of burners operating from three to two to one. Then set the target temperature on the other dial. The grill seems to heat up pretty fast and, as far as I know, it maintains a steady temperature. The inclusion of the fan is a really nice feature as it helps circulate the air within the grill box to support even cooking. If you like a "smoky" flavor to your grill, there is a compartment on the side of the grill in which you put wood chips (sold by Shark Ninja, of course), ignite them, and then let the grill do its thing. In conclusion, I have had a lot of gas grills over the years and this one is definitely one of the nicest, yet nowhere near the most expensive I have owned. It is a very sturdy grill and it cooks great. The only "ding" I have is that it must be plugged in to use it. Being tethered to a power cord does limit the utility of the grill somewhat, yet the tradeoff is a much better and straightforward grilling experience.

I have lots of other grills, but this one is special. Let's get into this. The build l quality on this grill is actually pretty good and should be able to sustain most weather conditions. I plan on leaving this grill outside in a covered area, and where I live it gets windy but this should hold up. The grill looks good with stainless steel, and the bottom area appears to be very strong. It's very heavy, so make sure when you're putting it together, it's close to the area where you're gonna be using it. It does have wheels but again this is on the heavier side. This is a two person girl when maneuvering or lifting so be careful with that. Quality of the food that comes out of this grill is decent, food gets well done or medium or rare however, you decide to cook it. I'm typically using a charcoal grill so this is different for me, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I think the price might be the only thing that is concerning to a lot of people because you can get a grill for much less. It'll do the same thing if not more. The cooking area is not as big as I thought it was gonna be, but it is enough to fit lots of meat and vegetables. It is considered a five in one, but most of these things I can do on a basic charcoal grill. In the end, I think the price might be the only thing that hurts this grill for me, but it does cook food very well.

I judge devices by numerous factors, including how complicated they are to put together (should such an effort be required). This unit couldn’t have been easier to put together. Included with the screws and nuts were the tools necessary to complete the task. The steps outlined in the instruction manual were very easy to follow; the only challenge was lifting the grill section onto the grill stand. Ninja strongly recommends having a second person to help when lifting the grilling/hood unit – which turned out to be fairly heavy – thus, having a second person was the right call. This is the first grill I’ve owned that required an electrical outlet to work, but it made perfect sense once I started using the system. Ninja recommends using an outdoor-rated power cord to power the unit, and I’m using a 12-gauge extension cable. The Ninja FlexFlame system is considered a 5-in-One system. You can grill, smoke, roast, griddle (if you purchase the required add-on accessories, and pizza maker. Further, it offers Cyclonic Air & CyclonicHeat-IQ – which is another way of saying that is has convective cooking. The Cyclonic Air pushes high-volume air around the interior of the cooking grill, akin to an Air Fryer or Convection Oven. I should note that leaving the grill hood open turns off the convection oven, while closing the lid turns the convection blower back on. This grill has two cooking dials on the right side of the unit that let you select the kind of cooking you’d like to do. The first control dial is the Burner Dial. In addition to being the ignitor for the pilot, it also has settings for the following: • Grill/Pizza: this turns on all three burners and has a temperature range of 450- 600 degrees. • 2-Zone: this turns on two of the three burners and offers a temperature range of 350–500 degrees. • Low & slow: This offers a temperature range of 200–300 degrees. • Roast/Bake: This offers a temperature range of 300 – 450 degrees. Which option you select dictates which burners are turned on. The grill illuminates active burners for your viewing pleasure. Next to the Burner Dial is the Temperature Control Dial. As the name implies, it lets you select the desired temperature by rotating the dial clockwise or counterclockwise. For example, 2-Zone will only let you select temperatures between 250-500 degrees. Below the temperature dial is the WoodFire Flavor button that activates the smoker. Essentially, place pellets into the pellet box, then press the WoodFire Flavor button to cook the pellets in the pellet box. – which is located on the right side of grill top. Two small bags of pellets are included with the grill. I should note that I picked up a small metal griddle for cooking. The first food I cooked was Prime Rib patties. I set the Burner Dial to Grill/Pizza, set the temperature to 600 degrees. Once it reached that temperature, I placed the burgers on the griddle and cooked them for 10 minutes, flipping them at the 5-minute mark. I added some black pepper and jalapeño seasoning before starting. I found the meat a bit more cooked than I like, but I wasn’t sure how long to cook them with the hood closed and convection running. I’ll drop the time back to 8 minutes the next time I cook them. In spite of being more well done that I prefer, they were well liked by everyone. I cooked salmon the next night. I cheated by regularly lifting the hood to see how it was cooking because I didn’t want to overcook it. That’s not criticism of the grill, just me admitting that I need to get used to using a convection oven. It’s a variable until I get used to the convection features of this grill. I’ve been needing a grill since moving to Arizona. I knew that this grill would be different from what I’m used to, but in general I’m really quite happy with it. As such, I’m giving it 5 stars.

Let me start off by saying that the Ninja flexplane Electric and propane grill has some of the best assembly instructions I have ever seen. I am no stranger to incredibly poorly written assembly instructions and other technical documents, but this was so refreshing. Even someone who has never put anything together before would easily be able to do this. It even has the hardware parts organized by step instead of type, so it is just incredibly easy, and that was incredibly refreshing. Moving on, the cooking system is fantastic. Gavin the ability to control the temperature and circulate the air gives you considerably more precise cooking outdoors. Cold spots are a thing of the past, but this will take some getting used to. My old propane grill was excellent, but nothing compared to this grill. I was worried at first and started off grilling at 350°, which provided great results, but nothing was crispy. I was just worried about burning things with the extra heat concentration. Being able to smoke meats using considerably less smoking material is also great. A handful versus 20 lb bag makes for a lot of savings. And with the air circulation, the smoke flavor is perfect. Anyway, once you get used to cooking everything you are already used to, you will get better results. With this. I will say that it is odd to have an electric plug for a grill, but it is well worth it.
