I started cooking in this ninja flip in order to test and review this toaster and now I’m hooked. There is so much to love about it. A couple quick things I’ve learned of note. When unboxing, there are several things inside the toaster wrapped in plastic wrap. Make sure you remove the plastic wrap. Secondly, the black metal tray, it says to leave it under the basket when you are cooking in the basket, this is because your food will drip moisture or pieces will fall into the bottom burners and smoke and burn up. It also suggests which oils to cook with in the manual to prevent less smoke too. Follow the directions and this isn’t a problem.
There are 8 different cooking modes that are easy to scroll through with the press of the mode button. Each are preset for you and you can then add or subtract time/slices, and temp/shade depending on what your cooking and how much. It has cooked all of my food so perfectly even. Currently I have salmon air frying with garlic potato wedges. It does suggest and I concur, spray the basket first to prevent your food from sticking. Frozen pizzas come out perfectly even and it preheats in a matter of seconds. No waiting to warm up when you’re hungry! When you’re done cooking, the fan stays on to cool it down and the toaster will read “HOT” until it has cooled so you don’t put anything on it or burn yourself.
Lastly, besides it working great, it also looks good. The stainless steel matches our appliances. It’s not tall and in a pinch if you need extra counter space, it’s designed to be able to “flip” up and give you extra counter space and the crumbs don’t fall out of it all over your counter. I’m not sure how much I’ll use this feature, but convenient that it can.
Overall, this Ninja flip toaster air fryer works great, looks great, and I am thrilled to cook more in my Ninja!

One of the best features of the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer is the Flip up option, which greatly reduces the countertop footprint, freeing up valuable space for cooking when you need it. The LCD display even displays “FLIP” when the oven is cool enough to safely rotate into its vertical position. The display will also display “HOT” after turning off the oven, reminding everyone not to touch to prevent burns until it cools enough to be safe to touch.
The Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer comes complete with a non-stick baking pan and mesh air fryer basket. Both pans measure roughly 10 x 12 inches, and there’s plenty of room for cooking casserole dishes and the like. Obviously, it’s not tall enough for cooking large food items like a whole chicken for example. But for everything else, the Ninja Flip does an excellent job of cooking, toasting, and air frying, and bakes quickly as a convection oven. The well-labeled control buttons are easy to see and use. The Temp and Time buttons also function as Shade and Slices when making toast. I toasted some English muffins at a medium shade setting number and they came out perfectly toasted. I also used the air fryer mode to reheat leftover pizza and about four minutes was all I needed for perfect crisp crust and hot toppings, much better than using a microwave oven in my opinion. Preheating the Ninja oven is super fast as well.
Ninja added some subtle but really welcome features, one being that the door can be opened just slightly to allow the oven to cool quickly without having the door wide open. On the back of the oven, there are clips to organize and stow the electrical cord. The infrared heating elements are protected by vented covers to prevent damage. The interior light makes it easy to check on your food as it cooks. Lastly, the crumb tray on the bottom of the oven is easily removed for cleaning. I was impressed also with the solid build…shipping weight was something like 40 pounds!
I have always been impressed with all kitchen products from Ninja. I personally own some of their frying pans, air fryers, and a coffee maker. The Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer meets my high expectations as another high-quality cookware item from Ninja.

Great toaster oven / air fryer overall

Great toaster oven / air fryer overall.
This toaster oven can be stored vertically, but after using it make sure it says FLIP insuring it has cooled down enough to be safe to move vertically. Hence the name Ninja FLIP Toaster Oven and Air Fryer.
The toaster oven is about 16” tall when in its flipped back state, it literally can be tilted back to save some storage space on a countertop. It even has extra feet on the back of it that lifts it off the back and I like how the feet have some grooves to manage the power cord. In my kitchen, it is too tall to fit under my kitchen cabinet. However, I believe this would fit under most peoples' countertops. It is too bad, as this would have saved me some counterspace, and it looks really nice from the bottom when stored upwards. Still, I like this toaster oven enough that it isn't a deal breaker for me.
This toaster oven/air fryer comes with an air fry basket, sheet pan, wire rack (must be used at all times, it holds the other accessories), and a crumb tray that can be easily pulled out for cleaning out.
Usage steps are essentially: you turn the entire unit on, select one of the 8 available modes: Air Fry, Air Roast, Bake, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, Dehydrate. Depending on the mode you choose you can set the actual oven temperature, it will preheat for some modes, and then you select how much time you want it to go for. We really liked using it for reheating leftover pizza quickly in the oven’s pizza mode.
Air frying was pretty good for us for things like fries and vegetables. It crisps very well using the air frying basket.
While of course you can obviously do things like toast bread, we find we have to run the toaster twice to get as toasted as we like, even at full toasting settings. Wish it just got toasted darker, setting it just once.
Overall, if you have the counterspace for this, and want something that can also air-fry this is a great buy for the money.

The Ninja Flip Air Fryer and Toaster Oven is almost TOO good, based not just on the 8-in-one functionality, but the lightning speed at which it does everything. The “flip-up” wasn’t what I expected and honestly feared; I *thought* that meant that it used a swivel to flip up and out of the way, which for me could be a bad thing. I have a cat that has claimed the entire house as her own, including countertops. If it was on a swivel, I feared that she could knock it from the storage position and have it crash down to the cooking position, but that is not the case. The Ninja Flip has rubber feet for both positions, so you have to purposefully flip it down where it sets securely on the counter, and when you’re ready to get it out of the way, you flip it up and it rests on the four rubber feet and is very secure in that position as well.
The 8 functions include Air Fry, Air Roast, Bake, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, and Dehydrate. So far, I have just used the Air Fry and Pizza functions which work great, and I wanted to get an initial review posted as I feel these are going to be among the most heavily used functions. The controls couldn’t be simpler to use; you have the power button on the far left, you then use the Mode button to switch between the 8 functions, then use the Temp and Time buttons to set those, and hit start. The final button turns on the light so you can see how what you’re preparing is doing, and believe me, you’re going to want to do this your first few cooks at least.
I first tried a frozen pizza, as you can see in the photos. When you turn it on, it defaults to 20 minutes and 350 degrees, which I then set to the 425 degrees that the box suggested. It also suggested a cooking time of 15-18 minutes, so I left it at the default 20 minute setting and kept an eye on it every few minutes. As you can see from the picture, there was just over 11 and a half minutes remaining and the pizza was done! 8 and a half minutes cut the cooking time in half, and it was perfect! Oh, the other thing I need to mention is the pre-heat time; once you hit Start, it goes into pre-heat mode and lets you know when it hits the temperature. It took just under a minute and a half for this to get to 425 degrees, which I think is incredible.
I have also used the Air Fry function for Pagoda pot-stickers which didn’t have cooking instructions for air frying, they suggest pan frying 10 to 11 minutes. These were air fried perfection in 6 minutes. Finally, I did some tater tots which the directions say to bake in the oven for 15 minutes, flip them, then cook another 10 to 15 minutes. I cooked them for 10 minutes, shook the basket, and 5 minutes after that, they were perfectly cooked.
In short, the Ninja Flip is going to save you a lot of time, besides saving the counter space when not in use. My only warning is to check what you’re cooking and keep a notebook on the REAL cooking time using the Ninja for the things you prepare often, otherwise I’m afraid you’re going to burn your food. The Ninja Flip is perfect for a single guy like myself where the smaller fry basket size isn’t an issue, and counter space is a premium in my small kitchen. It’s easy to use, super fast, easy to clean, and stores out of the way when not in use. I enthusiastically recommend the Ninja Flip and give it my highest rating.

One of the best toaster ovens/air fryers I’ve used

If you’re looking for a small toaster oven – air fryer that does a good job and can fit in a tight space, the Flip just might be what you’re looking for. I think it does an outstanding job. I’ve owned many toaster ovens over the years, and I have reviewed several for TIN too. The Flip is one of the best and the most unique design.
I’m not going to relist everything it does, how it cooks and what all comes with it. That’s what the product description is for. I’ll be discussing how well it worked for me and my family.
It’s common for any new appliance that cooks, especially a toaster over or air fryer, to emit an odor they first time they are used. In fact, most manufacturers state this in the instruction manual. Heat it up the first time without food in it, is recommended. However, my Flip had a very strong odor on its first empty run. I’m not sure exactly how to describe the odor, but it took me several times over a few days of heating it up and letting it air out before I cooked anything in it. I almost sent it back because of this. Once the odor was gone, it was gone for good.
My wife and I cooked several things it that most people commonly cook or reheat in one.
Here’s the cooking list: Tater tots and crowns, hash brown patties, French fries, sliced potatoes that are like fries, biscuits, cookies, garlic bread, garlic bread with cheese, toast, open faced sandwiches, and homemade pizza.
Here’s the reheated list: Fried Chicken, takeout pizza, fried and grilled fish, fried and grilled pork chops and a couple of hamburger patties I had grilled the day before.
It did a good job on everything I put it. But from what can tell from how some of the tots and bread cooked, it gets a little hotter in the back corners. Not enough to be a deal breaker. See photos.
With its size being a big part of the Flip’s appeal, other things that I like is the button layout and feel of them when pressed. The display is invisible unless the unit is on. Operation is dead simple for selecting cooking modes. Just press the Mode button to cycle through the cooking modes. Forward or reverse to get to the one you want quicker. Time, Temperature, Start/Stop and Light are the rest of the buttons. The light is a nice feature that you didn’t know you needed it until you have it. Display read “Hot” until the unit cools off after use.
I like that it pre-heats very fast too. It’s also quieter than any other toaster oven / air fryer that I’ve ever used. I like how the door opens, and it looks good!
Build quality feel sold and everything appears to fit together well. I didn’t notice any slop or gaps where pieces went together. Its rubber feet keep it from sliding around too.
The only things that I didn’t care for was the afore mentioned smell issue. The loud beep that can be annoying. It’s a Ninja thing. I have other Ninja products that have the same identical loud beep. Deep pans could have a problem with air flow reaching down in them, depending on what you might be cooking in them.
Conclusion: The Flip does what it says it will and does it very good.

Great Space-Saving Oven w/One Hitch

I already am a convert to the joys of owning a toaster oven. I have a great one now that I love but I had been looking for one with a bit more cooking area but without the added bulk that normally comes with such an increase and what do you know, the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven comes through!
I can't tell you how much time and energy I have saved by doing most of my cooking with a toaster oven. It heats faster, cooks faster, and doesn't bake the entire house while running. I have two, yes two, regular ovens in my kitchen and I have NEVER used the big one under my stove top, and only use the smaller one under my microwave for baking big items. Virtually everything else is done in my toaster oven.
Like I said, I loved my previous oven but I've been wanting a bit more space for about the last year now, because I have either had to do cooking in batches or just scaling down recipes, when I'd rather just have some leftovers. You can see in the picture of the respective baking trays that the Ninja has a much nicer and larger surface area to work with.
Also in the pictures you can see how a baking test with the Ninja compares to a batch done in my regular oven. I have never tried to do cookies just in my toaster oven, but after this test, I will be doing my cookies ONLY in my toaster oven! The bake was faster and more consistent across the baking tray than the larger regular oven.
This thing heats up wicked fast. I started both ovens at the same time and the Ninja hit the proper baking temp just before my regular oven hit 200 degrees. The first batch of cookies was almost done before the bigger oven hit the proper temperature. That's also because the Ninja also bakes even faster than my other toaster oven. And that is the one catch I mention in the title of this review; I'm going to have to learn all new baking times for all the things I make. I had it down to a science before and new I have to learn a whole new advanced quantum version of that science.
I actually don't care about flipping the Ninja Toaster Oven up to save counter space, because I have tons of that and the toaster oven just shows a bunch more stainless steel with smudges and fingerprints (the bane of my existence). I was even worried about having a device such as a toaster oven flip up or even being so close to walls and cabinets, but the Ninja Flip has some great thermals on it and it puts out less heat than my previous toaster oven does. It's actually very impressive.
I only have one other little quibble with the Ninja Flip, and that is that I wish that the handle on the left side could be swapped to the other side. I'm left handed and normally have a utensil or my oven mitt on that hand and open the door with my right hand. I can't do that without it being awkward now. Having the option to move the handle or putting a handle on both sides would make this thing absolutely perfect.
I can't wait to try out all the other modes with the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer, but it's going to be fun, tasty, and fast doing so!

We love it! It's the best compramise between a microwave and the oven. It crisps food that would be dried out in a microwave, but cooks much quicker than the oven and doesn't heat up the house. I like the front opening design better than the round bucket styles. This one makes it so we don't have to toss things around half way through cooking. Love it!

Right off the bat I am liking this unit. It doesn't take up that much space when it is flipped up so it frees up valuable counter space (I have a very small kitchen).
My old air fryer had a hot spot in the back so I had to rotate the food to get it evenly cooked most of the time. Cooking french fries and toasting were a issue. With this unit it handled everything I threw at it. Catfish nuggets, steak fries, pizza bagels were cooked evenly without issue.
So it takes 60 seconds to pre-heat which is awesome. If you ever used a air fryer before you will appreciate that. It is 17 inch tall when it is flipped up for storage. A cool thing it does it tells you when it is cool enough to flip up. The display will say hot and once it has cooled down enough it will display the word flip so you know it is cool enough to stow away.
Temp range is between 85 degrees to 450 degrees. I like that the unit has insulation on the door which my other units did not have. Three heating elements on the bottom and the top and the fan in the back for circulation. I suggest wrapping the drip tray in foil for easy cleanup. If you use the pan you will have to flip the food so that you get even cooking with your food.
If you want to start eating healthier I have no problem recommending picking this up.

The Ninga Flip was a product I was very reluctant to add to my kitchen. Family members said: We'll get this to you as a gift. I said: "No...No...and NO! I'm 85 and do not need a new 'trick' kitchen device,"
I was ignored and received one. I was wrong. The 'Flip' is a device that I use almost every day whether a large or small meal, toast or bagel, bake or broil. It is my 'go to' appliance. And, I now (maybe to the annoyance stage) recommend the 'Flip' without reservation. I recommend to the extent of inviting individuals over to make a 'meal' and try it.
It does, in every respect, what is designed to do. It is 'No Trick".

The Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer is a versatile and stylish multi-functional toaster oven and more...I only had it for about a week, so I didn’t have that much time to try all its features thoroughly but enough to appreciate a great toaster oven that does it all - roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel, air-fry and even dehydrate.
Overall build quality is decent, though the outer sheet metal feels kind of thin and can bend in and out. Despite being well packed in form-fitting styrofoam and double box, mine has a ding on the top panel towards the back. The stainless steel finish is very stylish, modern looking, and the control panel is well laid out and intuitive. Moreover there is also an interior light that can be turned on and off to check on your food progress, and it also automatically turns on about 20 seconds before cooking time is over - a very nice touch. Ninja was brilliantly able to cram so much technology in quite a compact package, and the ingenious idea to “flip” it up and out of the way to give back countertop space when not in-use.
The OvenCrisp Technology works as advertised with internal fans that circulate the hot air at variable speeds to provide faster, more even cooking and crisping. My bread toast and bagels come out just right every morning. I would recommend turning down the shade setting one notch on your first try just to make sure you don’t over-toast until you get a better feel for it. I’ve also cooked some frozen sweet french fries and came out great, better than some restaurant fries and only took 20 minutes. I also cooked some Salmon lightly dipped in egg/flour and Panco bread crumbs and it came out great, cooked at 350 F in 10 minutes. It would have taken a lot longer to preheat the range oven and cook the same fish, and would have consumed a lot more electricity in the process.
Even when toasting bagels the outer panels will get hot to the touch, so do leave enough space all around for airflow and cooling, especially when using the broiler/air fryer oven functions, the sides and back will get very hot to the touch. This Ninja will display “Hot” for a while it’s cooling, then will display “FLIP”, when it’s cooled down enough for you to flip it up on its back for more countertop space.
All in all, if you don’t mind frying smaller portions than you would in a full-size oven and want to get it done more quickly, less greasy and with less energy consumption and more countertop space when you’re done, this Ninja could be a great addition to your kitchen.
