    A must get

The game has very good graphics but a little bit shaky at times. The frame rate at the title screen seems to struggle a little bit but does not affect the game play all that much. The game is very long. If you don't want to sit there for hours just trying to beat the game, then this might not be the game for you. The game get to be very intense as the level progresses. It might be very frustrating to reach the end of the game with over 19 chapters. Do not expect to breeze through the first few chapters as well. If you are not familiar with the blocking mechanics, this game might prove to be impossible even on the first few levels. The game has lots to offer with realistic combos and not the repetitive play that you would expect in these kinds of games. The newly added Rachel character adds a little bit fun to the game. However, her moves are slow and her chapters are limited. Thank god she is not all that fun to begin with anyways. If you need a challenge and are into these types of games, this game is the right game for you.

    Incredible game BUT..........

Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing game, extremely fun and the graphics are superb......the story line is great, the weapons the combos, this is one of the best games in my collection, BUT....this game GETS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT SOMETIMES. The enemies gang up on you, and on top of that, the camera just does not help!!!! You have to be fighting a lot of enemies and moving the camera at the same time, because if you dont, believe me, you'll be looking at half you body and half the wall sometimes....that is how bad the camera is. Sometimes I have been fighting enemies without even them appearing on the screen unless I move the camera to them.....it feels as if you are a reporter with a camera and you have to follow all the action with your camera. Also, this game is so difficult that it without a strategy guide, you will be stuck on one level for a long long time, there are a lot of caves, paths, passages, ect...and it gets confusing sometimes.....BUT I highliy recommend this game WITH the strategy game guide.....and without it!

this is a great title. the graphics in this game have been up graded from the original xbox game to look sharper. the story in the game is intresting as well.the gameplay is great too, not confusing at all. and the length of the game has been extended from the original to include a new character that you play as named rachel. the only thing I hate about this game is that it is really really hard. I would have thought that the difficulty would have been brought down a bit so that casual gamers can get through the game as well. but it is just as hard as the original xbox game. all in all it is a good title. the inclusion of rachel makes the game longer and the graphics in this game look sweet. I recommend this game to everybody, but especially hardcore gamers who like a challenge. even though it is a hard game, it is still worth picking up and trying to play.

So far, this has to be the best game on the PS3. Superb graphics, excellent plot with some twists. Lots of options(weapons and accesories), strategy needed.(can't just hack and slash your way through) Downloadable content, and more. The environments are well done, good lighting. The only dislike I have, if any, is the camera is sometimes a bit annoying, but even that can be tweaked. Game has an online scoring system you can use to compare yourself to users all over the world. If you own a PS3, do yourself a favor and get this one.

This is one of the best PS3 games so far. The game play is very engaging. There are so many cool levels to play. The bosses can be tough to beat. The weoponery is awesome. Ryu has so many cool moves to kill the enemy. There are so many levels to explore. The graphics are great. The way he fights, jumps, and flies from buiding to cliffs is truely amazing. I highly reccomend this game for purchasing. Its so fun to play. I loved it!

This game is an insane ninja style fighting game with awesome graphics. I don't know why I didn't buy this game sooner!! I originally had the demo from Playstation Online and couldn't even stop playing that! And what's even better is that the game itself is just as good throughout the entire game. I will admit that there are quite a few hard parts, for me at-least, but I still kept playing. Even in the demo, biginning of the game, the boss was hard. I won't tell you anything about him except that he comes back in the end! But a great benefit is the abilities and the supplies you have. I always use my different weapons. Their just so much fun to PWN people with! Any way, I strongly recommend this game for people who appreaciate good graphics and fast paced sword play against ninjas. Get this Game!

Now, this is an action game! From the opening cinematic to the the last boss, this game will give you an intense gameplay experience with fine tuned controls and engrossing gameplay. The only problem I would say this game has is its steep learning curve. This game is difficult to get the hang of and will leave you frustrated but wanting to come back for more. Once you have mastered the timing of your characters moves, this becomes a very enjoyable experience. As a side note, I noticed that this version of Ninja Gaiden plays much better than the older Xbox version that came out a few years ago. I'm not sure if it is less difficult or the controls have been more finely tuned, but this is a much better experience this time around.

    Prepare to be frustrated

I had never played a Ninja Gaiden game and I was told before buying this that the game would be difficult. I never thought that it would be this hard. The gameplay is awesome but I die at least a few times every chapter. Making it through a level to the boss is the hardest part, IMO. A lot of emphasis is put on blocking, counterattacks, and combos. This is not a button masher. The bosses are tough, but not so tough that you don't want to play the game anymore. This is a very satisfying game to play, albeit hard.

This game is great if you like tough action games like devil may cry and god of war, though this focuses on defense over evasion more than those two. The enemies are nicely varied and distinct with few points of repetitiveness or frustration. There are some camera problems, but those are easy to anticipate and rare. Ryu (pronounced Ree-U) handles like a high-priced sports car and you'll love getting him to slice through enemy ninja. This translates into the platforming too, jumping from ledge to ledge is quite a thrill, though I would expect a ninja to be more subtle, but video-games are supposed to be fun not authentic. The new high definition is good, very pretty, but the textures lack the details of Resistance and other games originally made for the higher resolution, but if you want 1080P content, this is the best game in town that I can think of. On the downside, I said this game was hard, but it is worth restating; if you are the easily-frustrated type, this might not be the game for you. It's possible I suck, but the complaints of this game's difficulty have been fairly wide-spread, and many other games (like devil may cry 3) were supposed to be difficult but I had no problems with it, so the likelihood of me sucking is minimal. The bosses have a specific method of defense and you must use a certain method for defeating them; if you don't, you die, which can be very frustrating. This zeniths at the fight with ghost Doku and drops like a rock after that, which is very jarring since there are three or so boss fights after that, but they are push-overs, including the final boss. The plot isn't bad, just not very clear, it's mostly about revenge but some moments will make you scratch your head. This game might not be for everyone, if you don't like gore, violence, or action, you should find something else; but everybody else will love this, just be careful about the teeth-grinding.

Lives Up To The Ninja Gaiden History

If you played this game on the original XBox and loved it, Ninja Gaiden Sigma will bring back all the memories and then some. It's 95% the same as far as story, weapons, etc., but it's updated and looks 10000 times better. The graphics on the XBox one were some of the best I'd seen at the time, but the Sigma graphics simply blow them away. The music is the same for the most part, and I still think it's a good soundtrack. As far as people complaining it's too hard, I disagree. Maybe it's because I've beaten the game multiple times on the XBox, but it's not THAT bad. A lot of the bosses are tough the first time through, but not to the point where you'll want to quit or anything. It's challenging enough to where you might get frustrated a couple times, but not enough to where you'll want to quit. All in all, this is a great game. As I said, the camera angles can be annoying every once in a while, but if you learn how to use the controller to adjust your cameras (it's easy to do), then it's a lot better. If you like the original Ninja Gaidens, definitely buy this. The only people I wouldn't recommend this for are people like like Oblivion-like games with wide open lands and many options. This game is straight through with only one way to go, but it doesn't seem confining. Other than that, this is a great buy.

One of the best action adventures made to-date

This is one of the best action adventures I have ever played. The gameplay and controls are smooth and complex without being cumbersome. The combos are amazing to behold and combat flows effortlessly. With multiple difficulties and tons of unlockables this game has great replay value and plenty of depth of content to explore. Overall a great action game, and if you've never play any of the Ninja series before, this one is worth getting, if only as a rental. Gameplay - 5 Replay - 4 Sound - 4 Graphics - 5 Multiplayer - N/A Overall - 5 stars

    Great Game, Difficult But Great

This is a great game! If you are up to a challenge and love action / button masher games this is perfect. it is difficult, if you are a average gamer you will die many times (like me). But overall the graphics are wonderful especially on a HDTV. The new techniques you learn along the way keep the game varied. the only problem i had with it was the camera. I have played a lot of game with worse camera control but this one did get annoying on occasion. but it was infrequent and not long lasted.

If you haven't played the Xbox version of this game, this is a must have for the PS3....and even if you have played it....the graphics are revamped with a lot of extras thrown in! Beautiful cut scenes with very engaging gameplay. Like older games, the difficulty level of this game is directly related to how good the player gets at learning to control the main character. This is not a "button masher" type of game though trash mobs can be killed that way. A welcome addition to any PS3 collection!!!

    Definitive version of Ninja Gaiden

If you are a fan of the Ninja Gaiden series and own a PS3 stop reading right now and go buy Ninja Gaiden Sigma. If not, the game is still an excellent purchase. The game plays at a silky smooth 60 FPS even at 1080p. The gameplay is some of the best that currently exists for an action game. Length will probably run between 10-15 hours on your first play through. My final piece of advice: the block button is your friend.

Its a really good game. The graphics of the game is very impressive. There are lots of options like weapons, moves, characters etc. New users might find it bit difficult but after you get the hang of it, its really fun. The camera in the game is annoying and you have to keep adjusting it using the R1 and R3 button. The last thing that I would like to say is if you own a PS3 then you gotta have this game...

Get your ninja on with this rediculously good game as soon as you can. I think its well know that this game can be on the quite difficult side, but when you can clear a room full of baddie ninjas with some of the sickest combos and special techniques I've ever seen in a game or movie you will feel like a true gaming god. I just beat this game today and I feel like I must be the most tallented dude with 2 thumbs that ever picked up the sixaxis. The unlockables after beating the game make you just want to keep playing too. Now lets just say what needs to be said. Rachael needs to go. I hated her levels. She's slow and clunky and I found myself just trying to get her levels done with so I could be a ninja again. The game is not called Hunter Gaiden. Even so, Racheal didn't ruin the game for me her levels were quick enough and in limited enough supply. Now go get this game...quick like a ninja!

This has got to be the closest thing to being a ninja without actually being one. Ryu uses almost everything around him to pull off some of the most amazing attacks I've ever seen! The girl (Racheal I think is the name) is bad as well. Yes she is VERY hot, but she'll smash a fiend in half. The weapons are insane and the graphics are off the charts along with the sound. The entire flow of the game is very smooth which also adds to the enjoyment factor. Don't sleep on this one!
