This device provides the best soups ever, it makes the best smoothies we've ever had, and I've got to admit it's one of the coolest appliances out there. I think where it shines most is where it makes soup. Pea soup? Best ever! Hearty vegetable? Best ever! It seems to take a decent amount of punishment, just be sure that you do not immerse the blender itself in water, because the heating elements inside would not do well. It doesn't seem to be hurt by a little bit of splashing. The cleaning process that they provide works fairly well, but a nice longer handle brush works best, with a wee bit of dish detergent. The blender is made of heavy glass, and though I haven't waited, I would guess it's about 10 lbs. Heavy glass is best, the plastic nonsense that they put out there for other blenders is just worthless. Glass was a number one requirement for us. This thing gets hot when it makes soup! Use oven mitts to avoid scalding steam. Just follow the directions, that's all you need to do.

This blender is awesome. It pulverizes everything. I love it. Its loud but perfect.

I am obsessed with this thing! I use it everyday to make protein smoothies, And it shows no signs of slowing down. The fact that it cleans itself is beyond amazing. Saves me a few hours of scrubbing. The heating function works really well when making soup and I have made many frozen drinks. It chops ice with ease! I seriously can’t get enough of this blender it’s a beast!

Have only used it for cold drinks and smoothies...have not used the hot function. Since all powerful blenders are expensive this seems like a good value. Only "complaint" is the heater element is in the base of the actual glass container. This makes it heavy. Also you must pay attention to not submerging the container in water when cleaning, or it will damage the hearing element, So far, so good!

its a bit loud but besides that its wonderful. I love making ice cream in it.

I love it! I bought it while only thinking about frozen-drink-making capabilities, so the heating element inside was a surprise to me. However, I love all the extra features that I wasn't expecting. Especially the clean button! It makes life so much easier if your are anything like me and hate the cleanup part of cooking more than anything else.
