    Awesome blender, awesome price

I had a simple Oster blender for as long as I could remember. I thought it was great because it was inexpensive, but came with a ton of blending options (buttons). But once it got to the point where my morning smoothie would take almost 20 minutes to blend, and required a lot of 'spooning' intervention, I decided it was time for a change. Enter the Ninja. I saw this in the aisle while perusing my local BestBuy and instantly searched the item online for reviews. Reviews said "Great product," and I took it home with me that afternoon. I've been extremely happy ever since. I have not put anything in the blender that it couldn't make mush out of. I've made frozen drinks, almost solid drinks, extremely liquid-y drinks, and everything in between. It takes almost no time to get a good blend (if you're spending more than 1 minute blending anything, you're doing it wrong). Cleanup is pretty simple: so long as you didn't blend up anything super sticky, you simply fill the blender with water and a drop of dish soap, run it for 15 seconds or so, then rinse. I also put it through my dishwasher once weekly, which is perfectly safe to do. The only caution I would give anyone is that the blades are insanely sharp. When I tried (first, before reading directions--silly me) to wash the blade portion by hand, I managed to cut myself quite easily. Needless to say, I stick with the blended hot water with soap method to clean typically. But the blade being insanely sharp is also a good thing: it makes for good smoothie making!

I cook on a daily basis and I also make alot of milkshakes for my family. I've had 2 different Hamilton Beach milkshake makers and this thing blows them away! It EASILY makes shakes slushees, smoothies, health drinks, and whatever else you wish to create. Some may not like the noise it makes but most of us men will enjoy the roar of it's powerful motor. We wouldn't want our Lamborghini to sound like a Cadillac. The thing sounds powerful. period. I just turned 47 and decided to treat myself by buying this blender. My rationale for this particular purchase was "I want to get something well made so I'll never have to buy another in my lifetime". WOW! I hit a homerun on this one. It does everything well and I'm only scratching the surface of what this blender can do. The 1000 watts this model has under the hood is more than enough power to liquify virtually any food item. NO STUBBORN LUMPS THAT MOST BLENDERS ALMOST ALWAYS REQUIRE EXTRA BLENDING TIME TO BREAK DOWN. It's amazingly efficient and thorough. It has 3 distinct speeds plus a PULSE button for precise blending. Did i mention you'll never need a separate food processor once you buy this machine? This blender/food processor will not disappoint. I'd imagine the most demanding chef would find this useful in their own kitchen. This blender works every bit as well as claimed and then some. What you see in their tv ads is ABSOLUTELY what this beast can do. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this blender to ANYONE.

If you are looking for a blender that makes great green smoothies, pass on this one. The blender does seem powerful (quite loud as well), and if you just want to make things like margaritas or smoothies with prepackaged powders and softer unfrozen fruits, this may do the job. You will likely have to peel anything you throw in because it will not fully process skins and leaves. If you want a blender to get started on the green scene (kale, spinach, leafy greens, fresh fruits/veg and herbs) you should pass on this one unless you enjoy chewing tiny bits of ingredients after it is served. I did try the blending and straining technique, but that takes forever and wastes so much you may as well use a juicer. I just bit the bullet and ordered a Vitamix, because for the purpose of everyday fresh green smoothies and raw vegan recipes, there are really only two choices out there; Vitamix or Blendtec (with Vitamix getting the slight edge on pulverizing leafy greens). Hope this helps for those looking to utilize a blender for these reasons!

Almost too much to handle (but totally worth it)

I was hesitant to buy this blender mainly because the name "Ninja" invoked feelings of made-for-TV quality products. But finally I relented and gave it a shot, mostly because the 1000watt motor is the best thing out there for the price (and much lower priced than similar models). Well we LOVE this blender! The 1000watt motor makes short work of ANYTHING you put in the blender. The 6 blades are super-sharp, actually mincing and cutting instead of just smashing into pulp, but they're still very easy to clean. All the parts lock into each other, so you can actually carry the whole blender by the handle. No more worrying about the lid flying off either! (It takes a minute to get the locks right the first time, but once you do it's no problem at all.) I would call this the Dyson of blenders. But the best part is, you don't have to pay extra for all that quality! We've been using the heck out of it and it shows no signs of slowing down. The trickiest part has been having it NOT over-blend stuff and we've had to tweak our recipies a bit. if they make a model that has a lower slow speed I'd be all over that!

I generally don't get excited about cooking appliances, but this blender is the exception. It has four pieces; the cap, blender blade tower, container, and the base. They are incredibly easy to use and clean since the tower comes out of the container. I just wash it out every time I blend something and I'm done! 2 minutes at most. The blender has yet to get stuck on anything (I put in mostly ice, fruits, yogurt, and peanut butter). Best of all is the little drink guide that comes with the blender. It has tons of tasty recipes. My roommate actually compared our apartment to a Nuvibe (local smoothy place) since I have been making smoothies so often. The only hitch I have had with the blender was this; I couldn't get it to work for 10 minutes (thank you google) since I had put the lid on incorrectly. Yes, this was in the instructions that I had thrown away and there are little arrows that show this needs to be put on the right way. I accept full responsibility of my own idiothood. In all other ways the blender has proven its worth is bronze, or some other minor metal. I love it.

I did not have high expectations for this blender because of the price but it appeared that it had a lot of features for the price. Compared to similar blenders the thing that I liked the most was the multiple blades on the main shaft. I got tired of blending everything at the bottom of the blender and having to stop and scoop it all out and move it down to re blend. Then, when consumer reports ranked it on par with the Vita mix I decided to buy it. They were not wrong. It has a lot of power and blends everything well the first time. Some have complained that it does not blend as smooth as others and maybe that is true but I'm not making anything that would require a perfectly smooth texture. I just want my shakes to blend up and then be able to pour it out. It crushes ice into powder if you want it to and doesn't seem to be struggling to do so. It is all plastic which makes me wonder if a glass jar wouldn't have been better but time will tell if it is durable. Overall, i highly recommend it and would buy it again.

I bought this Ninja blender because it seemed like a good value for the money, and I thought the multiple blade system would work well for making homemade sauces and condiments (my personal hobby). Unfortunately, the blender seems to push the liquids out and away from the blades, up against the container, instead of pulling them in toward the blades where they can be pureed into a smooth consistency. Each time I turn it on, the liquids literally shoot out and up away from the blades, all over the inside of the container. The end result is that it takes an extremely long time to make any kind of reasonably smooth sauce, and they are never as smooth or consistent as with a tradition single blade blender. However, this Ninja is great for turning ice cubes into snowcones.

I was impressed with the durability, power and how fast it blends. While putting it together, operating during and afterwards, you have to pay attention to what you are doing. If not you will leave yourself open to cutting yourself with the multiple blades it has. Pay attention to when stuffing your blender; it's easy to slice you fingers if you go too deep. I don't even bother washing the blades by hand; I just place it on the top shelf of my dishwasher. I really stress safety. The other drawback is that if the liquid is to high, the liquid will leak a little bit from the little plastic covered spout located one of the top corners. Not a big issue; just have a paper towel handy. Overall this blender does the job. It replaced my 22 year old Hamilton Beach. I hope I will get another 22+.

I drink 6-10 smoothies each week. I had to replace my old (very good) blender with something. I researched the options and choose a Ninja. I had a model in mind when I walked into the best buy. It was out of stock. I bought this one instead. It was a little cheaper but I thought it was the model I wanted with out the accessories, I planed on buying a single serve cup, by its self at a later date. I later found out that this model doesn't support a single serve cup. If I would have know that, I would have ordered the one off line that I wanted in the first place, it was a Ninja too. Don't get me wrong, I love this blinder. It does just what I expect a blender to do. It makes great smoothies with frozen fruit and ice. I especially like the pour spout on the top. It makes for easy, no mess serving of your drink.

I needed a new blender and had a gift certificate. I bought this after reading reviews. its pretty, its powerful and for the most part does exactly as advertised. it will really work for just about anything you need it to do. just dont expect miracles necessarily. I love making smoothies and margaritas. I haven't made other food items or ice cream but I hear it does well with that. ice pieces are a little bit bigger than I'd like and some ingredients it doesn't blend fine enough but its a minor gripe for the price I paid. Could a basic blender do more...maybe but mylast basic blender wasnt as good as this one. love the flat button face that is easy to clean..its all easy to clean! the ton of blades makes it a bit hard to load up and they are super sharp so be careful but overall I'd completely recommend this blender if you can get it for under $99 like I did.

We bought the blender on a recommendation from a friend. We've burnt out many other lesser blenders from daily smoothies for the family and summer frozen drink concoctions. I do not like purchasing appliances for my wife for the holidays but this has turned into her favorite gift (admittedly I didn't buy her any jewelry). Used daily now for 3 months and not a hiccup. This blender full of Ninjas is awesome. Clean it right after use so nothing gets stuck to the blades so you don't have to fight the ninjas to give them a bath. We simply make our smoothies and then fill full of warm water and a bit of ivory soap, blend and rinse. This usually takes care of it for the next day. BTW, my first test was to jam the thing full of ice. It made snow without a moment of complaining. Waldo

My wife loves this blender. It's a very nice upgrade from the $30 style that your grandma has. The three blades make short work of your food. It's a bit awkward to put the lid on, take it off, rotate the container into place, etc., but once you get accustomed to that, it's not too bad. It's mostly easy to clean, but the major exception to that is the lid. I'm honestly surprised that a food processing device has so many tight corners and crevices. Most process equipment is required to have curved corners, etc., so that food won't get stuck and bacteria begin to grow. We've had this for over a month, and it doesn't appear to be an issue yet, but we'll see how it goes after a year.

I've had this for about a month now and it really does the job well. The offset triple blades work so much better than having the blades at the bottom. They prevent you having to open the lid and pushing down stuff on the side because it doesn't mix on other blenders. No problem at all chopping ice along with the drink. The pulse and two speeds are all you need. Easy clean and easy maintenance. Not sure about the longevity yet as the directions state to do pulses to chop the ice and then run it on one of the speeds for 30 seconds. Near the end of the 30 seconds you get that electric smell like it is overheating. No issues yet, but just a little concerning. Maybe just because it is new. All in all, very good value for the money.

I have to agree with the other reviewer who said it takes a bit of extra time to make a smoothie that is truly smooth due to the food being pushed against the sides. That said, I notice looking through the included recipe ideas booklet that they allow several minutes to make certain recipes, so maybe I am just impatient. The top is easy but I can imagine an elderly person may have some trouble as you do need to push pretty firmly on the locking mechanism, and on the release button as well. I like that it has a pour spout in the lid too. The blender feels really sturdy to me and I feel like it will last many years, unlike cheaper blenders I have owned. Very easy to take apart for cleaning also.

I did a lot of research and picked this blender, and was able to buy this on sale at Best Buy. My wife is on chemo and we have switched our eating habits to more fruit and vegetables. Making smoothies is a great way to get your fruit and vegetables. What makes this blender better than most is the blades go all the way to the top of the container. It could cut up a two by four. In fact be very careful of the very sharp blades when handling. Also it is very easy to use and clean. I highly recommend the product.

I bought the Ninja because my old blender always left lumps, no matter how long it ran or at what speed. The Ninja does a far better job in relatively little time. Smoothies have the right consistency, even when ice cubes and frozen fruit are in the mix. I was concerned about ruggedness at this price point, but this blender seems to handle regular use without problems. The unit is noisy, but who cares? It doesn't run for long. My only real complaint is clean up. The novel blade design requires complicated interlocks for safety, and this makes cleaning and drying of the lid and container (especially the hollow container handle) more difficult.

I was hesitant in buying this blender, since I was considering more expensive blenders, however, I'm glad I didn't!! This thing has done everything my more expensive blender did before, and at 1/8th of the cost. I should note that it does have a couple things that are a tad annoying, in that when you put the item in the dishwasher, there are some gaps in the bottom of the holder that lets water (and junk) sneak in, so after you take it out you gotta kinda power wash the holes in the bottom to get the stuff out. Oh, and it's a little loud, but other then that, It's great! I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase.

I literally ruined about $40 in protein powder and fruit. This thing is incapable of producing a smooth consistency, and worse, whips so much air into the mixture, that smoothies come out like liquid foam. Just awful. I quickly realized how terrible it was and immediately ordered the KitchenAid 5-speed blender, but needed something until it came in. I'd of been better off stirring my shakes with a spoon. To add insult to injury, the lid stuck on and broke when I was trying to remove it. Just to make myself feel better, I tried the ice to snow thing and it worked well, so unless you're opening a snowball stand, I'd stay away.

I bought this blender online on a day when Best Buy had it on sale for $80 which was $20 less than anyone else. Then I was able to pick it up almost immediately from a nearby BB store. Smooth transaction! So far I have only used this blender for crushing ice and making fresh fruit smoothies and frozen drinks. It performs these tasks very well and far better than either of the 2 blenders I previously owned. I prefer using my food processor or stick blender for other food prep chores. So I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I haven't experienced much variety of usage with it.

I had a Cuisinart that used to get jammed up making smoothies; just juice, ice, frozen fruit and some yogurt, maybe a banana too. I decided to upgrade to the ninja cause there was a good deal on it from Best Buy. Boy am I happy I made the switch. Making the exact same smoothies always results in perfectly blended smoothies. Every now and then i smell the motor burning which is why i didn't give this 5 stars but it doesn't seem like something I am too worried about. Just that off smell. Also the top has this nice spout that doesn't make a big of a mess as the cuisinart. Very good blender so far.
