Ninja Sizzle Pro XL 20-Inch Indoor Griddle + Grill is Great for Quick and Easy Mess-free Indoor Parties Packaging: Safe and strongly packaged, the grill was not complicated to unbox or set up. Taking the product box out of the shipping box was a two-person job. It did not require any complicated installation. Two cooktops were packed separately—one in the grill and the other outside. They needed to be taken out extra carefully since ceramic is breakable. There were two kinds of paperwork in the box: the manual and the warranty card information. Looks: There are two cooktop options: a slotted grill and a flat griddle. These ceramic tops are quite heavy and sturdy. The buttons in the front are pretty self-explanatory. In addition to the power button, there is a button to set the mode, a smart dial for temperature, and a button for the time. I appreciate that the display is a big neon timer that is visible from a distance. There is a sticker with cooking information, which is really helpful for quick reference. These are details that make this grill user-friendly. The slotted cover (ventilated lid) is light with a lot of slots. There is, however, no option to cover the slots if the recipe needs a higher temperature and less air supply. It is fit for indoor grilling but is likely to need ventilation. It is advisable to set the unit up near or on top of your traditional stove and turn the fan on. You do not want fire alarms going off. There are recommendations about avoiding certain types of oil to avoid smoke. I used the permissible kind but still had lots of smoke. Manual: The manual is my favorite thing in the box. The graphics are bright, and the food looks tasty. The first page clearly shows options for commonly cooked foods with curt and clear instructions on temperature and cooking time. Providing recipes is not unexpected, but that pretty cheat sheet camera is a breeze to set up and use. There was a small peel-off sticker on the cook top with tips for reducing smoke and splattering. I am not sure if this was an afterthought. This information could probably go into the book instead of separate paper. I am pretty sure I will lose it if I do not stick it in the book. Performance: The ceramic cooktop successfully delivered the promise of “edge-to-edge” heat. Although I did not use 500°F heat at this time, there were no cold spots. The surface took a little time to preheat. While the display indicates when the preheat is complete, a sticker in front of the grill makes it very clear what to expect. I simply loved the placement of stickers to make the cooking process easier for inexperienced grill-masters. The grill reached my desired temperature of 350°F in 7 minutes and seemed to stay there. The surface is big, although the unit itself is not overtly chunky. You could easily fit four ribeyes or two medium tortillas or ten standard burger patties at a time. The grill/girdle is extremely versatile. It is good for a quick weekday meal as well as an indoor party. Also, the presence of grill AND girdle means that this one unit has everything covered from an elaborate breakfast to a fancy dinner. Clean up: We ended up with quite a bit of post-cooking mess. The grease catch tray under the grill was able to catch the grease and the burnt bits. Because the cooktops are ceramic, the surface was super easy to clean. All I needed to do was take a wet paper towel and wipe down the cooktop. The manual asks for soapy water to loosen the scraps, but since the unit is new, there were no leftover burnt debris. The lid is detachable, light, and easy to clean. Storage: In order to stow away this unit, I would have really liked a way to stack the cooktops. The grill is not small enough for a normal kitchen countertop or even the cabinets. Users would probably store it in a pantry, basement, or garage. A stackable option would have made it so much easier to store. It would probably increase the height of the unit by a few inches, which might not be a big problem. Nutshell: Without the charcoal taste, it is probably not a replacement for the real deal. The Ninja Sizzle Pro XL 20-Inch Indoor Griddle + Grill is a good indoor alternative that will feed a big family or gathering. It is mess-free, easy to use, and has an excellent manual and support for novice as well as pro grill-masters.

This indoor grill is amazing! I couldn’t tell I was grilling indoors when I tasted the steak I cooked on it. I’m so happy I made this purchase!

Oh my I am a Ninja nut for their products, this grill is the best

Gets a star for looks and design, because it is a great design and as with almost all things Ninja, looks great. Other than that, based on all the other reviews I've seen, I almost wonder if I got a faulty unit, because my heating is all over the place. I've had more even heating on $50 budget griddles. Might return and replace if I can ever get to the closest BB again. If better the second time, will definitely update my review.

Effortless cleanup with nonstick, mostly dishwasher-safe components and the built-in removable grease-trap. However the parts are quite large, so I couldn’t fit them inside my dishwasher. Durable build quality and thoughtful design for compact storage. Cons: Not entirely "smokeless" with very greasy foods or at max temperatures. Certain high smoke point oils are not recommended (e.g., olive oil), which may limit some recipes. Can take up significant counter space. Lid clearance might be an issue under some cabinets. Slight temperature discrepancies between set and actual surface readings at the edges. Preheat time may seem a little long (around 7-8 minutes on average), especially when I was quite hungry and wanted a quick meal For individuals and families who desire the convenience of indoor grilling and the versatility of a large griddle, the Ninja Sizzle Pro XL offers exceptional value.
