this is a great title. the graphics in this game are really cool, especially since the graphics have been updated from the original version, into the 3D realm. the gameplay is like the final fantasy of old, to say, turn based gameplay. but that is not a bad thing. I perfer this type of gameplay than that on final fantasy 12. the length of the game is really long. I have no idea how long it is but I hear it is around 30 to 40 hours of gameplay, so that is quite alot. and the story is really good, it will keep you entertained for a long time. the only problem I see with this game is that the difficulty it kind of tough if you have not experienced your player enough and keep on dieing. and the save points really don't help if you have died and have to begin from your last saved check point. I recommend this game to all, especially those of you who want to collect all the final fantasy games.

    Final Fantasy III

I personally enjoyed this game very much. The graphics are wonderful, as are most games in the final fantasy saga, and it kept me wanting to keep on playing. The game starts with the main character falling down a hole, and then finding that this did not happen by chance. He goes in to find out that a crystal, which he finds after exploring deep into the hole, made him fall down to the hole because he was the chosen one to help the crystal. I'm not going to ruin it all for you, but I must say, the story is rather classic and predictable at this point. The fights are challenging, and at times I found myself shutting the Nintendo Ds in frustration with it, only to open it back up again a few minutes later to go back and try again. The only good thing about dying is that if you saved the game before you entered a dungeon, the dungeons aren't that long, and won't take very much time to find where you left off. Then there's the job system. I found this to be interesting, and unique. The job system allows you to pick a character's abilities and specialties, and use them in battle. For example, you may have a white mage, a black mage, a warrior, and a thief. In battle, this would mean that you would have a) a healer (white mage) b) attacking magic. c) a thief, which is a good source of items, and provides you with the chance to run away at times, and d) a warrior, skilled at physical attacks. (Note: I did not use a warrior, I instead used a red mage, who is fairly skilled at everything). Over all, I enjoyed this game very much!

Great RPG from Square/Enix, as usual

If you have played any RPG made by Square/Enix--they made all of the Final Fantasy games, as well as many others including Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross--you know how much attention is paid to detail in these games. Final Fantasy III is no exception. While the graphics on the Nintendo DS may not be up to the level of the newer generation of consoles, don't let that dissuade you from playing this game. The graphics are about as detailed as they can be for this system, and many scenes are quite stunning. Character outfits are quite nicely done, as are the various weapons that are used--you can actually see the difference when your character changes weapons, unlike some games. The story line and dialog in this game are not surprising or too enthralling; however, it is concisely done and will not bore you as you play through the story. Probably the best feature of this particular Final Fantasy is the job system. As you find the crystals around the world, more jobs are opened up for your characters to assume. These jobs have different special moves and qualities. For example, the Dark Knight has a Souleater move that does physical damage to all enemies at the cost of taking some of his own life energy. Mages can do magic, of course. It is up to the player to decide what job to assign to each character, and the jobs can be changed at any time. As with any RPG, the quest is only as difficult as you make it. If you spend a good deal of time building up your characters (i.e., participating in a lot of fights in order to earn experience points), you will not have trouble in the dungeons and with the boss battles. There are also hidden items and powerful summons spells that can be found to aid you in your battles--if you take the time to look (and, frankly, many of these things are really not all that hidden in this game). This is not a game for younger children, mainly because of the difficulty level. Tweens may be able to handle it, although they may get frustrated. Anyone who decides to play needs to know that they should not approach the final battle area until you are very well-prepared--it is an extremely long dungeon, and if your party of characters die, you have to start it all over again (and trust me, this will happen if you are not prepared enough).

A decent go around in the Final Fantasy universe

I bought this game because I am a huge Final Fantasy fan, and If you are you won't be dissappointed. Old school Final Fantasy with a simple story really satisfies the classic RPG gamer in me. The only problem is the game becomes a little unfair near the end where you have to fight 8 - 10 bosses with out saving or the option to restock on magic/items, If you die on one of them you have to start all over. All in all this is a solid game for the DS, and is probably on of the longest on the system. If you are looking for a game to keep you busy for awhile and your into RPGs I reccomend this to ya!

Comes to the DS for the first time. This is basically like your basic turn based RPG, but focuses on a Job class that has more than 20 classes, from Black Mage to Summoner. I terms of graphics, this is one of the best looking DS games as of right now (but won't be for long). If your looking for a RPG to play on the DS that isn't Pokemon or are a Fan of Final Fantasy and never played III, then this game is for you.

My friend reccommened this game, so i thought i'd try it. I couldn't figure out the first boss. The game hard off the bat. Then, i obtained all four members of the team in an hour which took me through a boring storyline with no twists. its hard to train the team for the area you are supposed to go to next and most of the time you die. Its very difficult and easy and is just an overall somewhat boring game. It does have nice graphics and somehow keeps you hooked on the game. I'll see if i can find an online guide. 15$ is not worth spending extra on this game. The maps are tiny compared to other DS games and its just dissappointing to me.

Overall this is a great game. It really draws you in. The endgame is very tough, which makes the game even better.
