After not being able to pick one of these up when they first released I was a little bummed. But after checking out at my local Best Buy one day about two weeks ago I noticed one sitting in the cage near the front. I couldn't pass up the chance. All and all, I love what Nintendo has done with this system in the latest revision. The stable 3D is the biggest and most notable change and has made me go from someone who always kept the 3D slider in the off position on the regular 3DS XL to someone who has it on almost all the time. It's worth the upgrade from the old systmes just on that fact. The amiibo support is great for Smash and Project Steam, and the c-stick makes playing games that use the Circle Pad Pro so much nicer. If you already have a 3DS XL, you may want to wait for another special edition system to come out before jumping to an upgrade. But if you love the 3DS and/or don't have one yet. I would recommend the New 3DS XL as your starting point. It's a fantastic system.

The load times are indeed noticeably faster on this device. Face tracking works 90% of the time. The C-Stick does take some time to get used to, though (not sure if a stick cover to provide a better grip on it is possible.) Limited edition or not, the New 3DS XL is ideal for those who have yet to join the 3DS bandwagon. Current 3DS XL owners can hold off for a bit, but do take this upgrade into consideration down the line. PS: Direct file transfer took me over 4 hours (I had about 13 GB of data to move)!!

Bought it at my local Best Buy as soon as I spotted it, really good looking 3DS XL and great LOZ look to it. Hard to find these in store but my Best Buy had it. :)

...is everything the original 3DS should have been. I am very happy with this purchase. The 3D is now usable and doesn't break at the slightest movement, everything loads faster, and there's a 2nd analog stick (more of a nub that is similar to something found on older laptops). The cartridge slot and stylus have been moved to the bottom of the system, memory now is stored on a microSD and is harder to access (requires a small phillips screwdriver), the volume slider has moved to the left side of the top screen, and the start and select buttons are now actual buttons on the system. Numerous quality of life improvements have been made - they are significant enough that I can't go back to an old 3DS anymore.

This is the Special Edition Nintendo 3DS many have been waiting for. The New 3DS brings great new features to the console including faster processor, vastly improved 3D performance, and a second analog control nub, all of which make a valuable contribution to the gameplay experience. As for the special edition console, the faceplates have a nice reflective metallic look and feel, appearing almost to be goldplated. This is much nicer than the matte gold appearance I expected, and really make the console stand out. If you can find one, it's a worth addition to any Zelda fan's collection. If not, buy another model of the New 3DS and enjoy all of the new features it has to offer.

I had been looking to purchase a Nintendo 3DS for awhile now. I was told to wait for the new ones to come out and I'm glad I did. The 3D function on them works better, and I can see myself using it more because of the improvements. I picked up the special edition Zelda 3DS and love it. The design they choose to place on it is nice and I love the gold color. Great for any Zelda lover, or anyone in general really. I have 2 complaints though. 1. No charger, you have to buy it separately. However if you own an older 3DS you can use that charger. 2. I wished the Majora's Mask game came with it. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase.

...I feel that Nintendo has made some awful design choices with this refresh. 1. No AC Adapter. This is pretty well known but it needs repeating. 2. The new placement of the game cart slot and the power button is atrocious. I find myself thumbing over the power button while playing (which causes the game to immediately close, losing progress) repeatedly. The cart slot is less of a big deal but everytime I put a new game in I hit the L/R buttons, which tries to activate the camera. Why they were moved is a total mystery to me. 3. Accessing the mSD card requires prying off the back plate. I damaged my MM edition slightly doing this and it's completely ridiculous. 4. The newly added c-stick is great but wasn't given a texture. This makes it less than ideal for grip considering it doesn't benefit from a concave design the way the analog stick does. Aside from the obvious "Americans are too dumb to get both sizes of system" idiocy Nintendo pulled, those are the biggest issues for me so far. It's still a great system and worth the price of upgrading, but do be aware of some of the issues you may have ahead of time.

This has to be the most beautiful piece of hardware Nintendo has ever made. It looks gorgeous in person. Also the system itself is pretty great! the super stable 3D is simply amazing! the c-stick is an amazing addition and hopefully it'll be taken advantage in the future. Honestly, if you're into Nintendo games and love the 3DS, upgrade to the New 3DS! It's so much better than then any handheld they've ever made.

I was lucky enough to find a special edition but the regular is great as well. The Amiibo support is great and there is a noticeable increase in overall performance. The fact that the SD card slot is behind the battery cover is a bit annoying but the overall design more than makes up for it. Oddly enough this this not come with a charger so make sure to pick one up if you don't already have one.

The improved 3D can't be emphasized enough! This is a fantastic improvement over the original system. I went from keeping the 3D slider off at all times to never wanting to turn it off. The image does not do the system justice by the way. For current 3DS owners, I recommend the upgrade if you are avid gamers all around. For those that don't own a 3DS, I 100% recommend the new 3DS over the old 3DS.

This Majora' s Mask New Nintendo 3DS XL is amazing. It's very vibrant and really catches the eye. Aside from just looking better than your usual NN3DSXLs, it's a must have for all Zelda fans. The packaging is comes in is pretty sweet looking, too. I highly recommend purchasing a clear protective case for the system to preserve the quality.

So, as anyone who's looking at this knows, these sold out in the prerelease stage, which I missed. I finally gave in and went the best buy to get the plain black console, and low and behold, there's three of these sitting on the shelf! it's just as beautiful as I expected, and I love the adaptive 3D effect, I actually use the 3D now!

what to said, i was lucky to get my majora's mask new 3ds xl for a gift, i'm a international customer and the steps to check out were easy. i was afraid to be one of the orders to be cancel, any way delivery was on time, and most important package arrive in very good condition not problems whit that..

this was the best experience i had on best buy, i was looking for the new 3ds xl and i ask a employee is they have the 3ds and he go and tell me to wait, later he came with the majora mask 3ds xl that was awesome, this guy deserve a bonus. employee like him make the customer feel great

The New 3DS is faster and has more buttons and an addition control stick nub. It also allows you to play New 3DS games, normal 3DS games, DS games, and download a ton of games. The system feels comfortable and is quite durable. It is a nice system and well worth the price.

The first two 3ds models feel like prototypes when you hold one of these in your hands. They fixed most of the problems and it truly feels like a premium product. The deep gold finish is a nice touch and doesn't looks like it will chip like the xl models before it.

I really wanted the new 3DS as soon as it came out, but since this zelda edition kept selling out I decided to wait. I ended up waiting months before this showed up as available for in store pickup. Overall it works great and looks amazing. Glad I waited!

This console is absolutely beautifully designed and captures the spirit of Majora's Mask. The updated controls and hardware provide fast load times and the improved 3d is vastly superior to the previous generation. If you're a Zelda fan this is a must have!

First off.. I can't believe my luck that I found this in April 2015. I bought it on an impulse knowing I'd never find it again and am in love with it. For those who think it's not the right style... see it in person. It's way better in person!

Really enjoying my time spent so far with this new take on the 3DS hardware. 3D tracking is much much better. My only complaint is this didn't come with a charger which I had to buy seperately. Otherwise, a solid upgrade from my 3DS XL.
