The Wii U is a really great and fun system, and with a game like Splatoon included, it just makes it better! Really worth your money, I am very happy with it, totally recommend it to everyone who is able to purchase!

When I first heard about the game I was super sad cause I didn't have a Wii U to play it on, so I couldn't get the game. I had resigned myself to the fate of not getting to play this awesome looking game when I found this bundle, and decided to go ahead and spend the money on it since if you buy this bundle, the 60$ game is essentially free. Do I regret spending 300$ on a next gen console specifically to play this one game? Not in the least. It arrived two days earlier than the initial estimate had said, so I got to play it sooner than expected and I am SO HAPPY. The Wii U is everything Nintendo SAID the Wii would be, with motion controls that act exactly how you want them to. Pair those controls with a shooter type like Splatoon, and you can aim pretty easy. As well, it loads video on Youtube or Netflix really well and clearly, which is really cool. Splatoon itself is just as awesome as I'd hoped. It's colorful and fun, and there's a lot more content and ink colors than I expected. Plus with the variety of weapons and sub-weapons, it's hard to get bored. The characters are likeable, the Inklings and Octolings are SO adorable, and for a multiplayer-focused game, the singleplayer campaign is really in depth and has some nice lore and story to go with it, plus a few twists I did NOT see coming. The entire idea is very creative and different, making it a fun new experience. The final boss is difficult, but it's a fun difficult, not rage-quit type difficult. This is definitely one of the best games I have EVER played. A sweet upside is also that you can completely customize and re-customize your character at any time. Wanna switch to a different gender? You can do that anytime you want. Wanna change eye color? You can do that anytime you want. Wanna change clothes and outfits ten times a day? the amount of accessories in the game make that completely possible. The bundle comes with a little card with a code on it for you to download Splatoon from the Nintendo eShop. I had hoped there would be a physical disk, but since Nintendo is good about making sure all your purchases are kept on your Nintendo profile so you don't lose them if something happens to your system, I'm pretty happy with that. Overall, I personally think this system and game are worth the price. I have had hours upon hours of fun with it, and will continue to because this game STILL hasn't gotten boring!

This is an excellent bundle. Splatoon is the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long while. It's easy to pickup and has just enough variety to always be entertaining without feeling like a grind for the sake of unlocking things. Just hop right into your first match and away you go. As for the console itself; It's a fairly capable unit with enough features to keep me interested. The Miiverse community is always fun to browse and, no shortage of entertainment apps. While not the most powerful console, it obviously has it's unique points. The gamepad is solid and the second screen experience integrates nicely for most games (like Mario Party) and the overall interface. As a fan of the DS and 3DS, it to me feels like the same consistent experience between both platforms. Ultimately glad I picked this up.

This isn't really a review for the games it comes with. (I will say that Splatoon is awesome, and nintendo land is a great added bonus.) This isn't really even a review for the Wii U in general.. If you know you want a wii u, but you don't know what bundle to get, i guarantee that this is the best one out there. You won't be disappointed.... the only issue I see people running into is the downloading of the splatoon game. Be sure to look for the code inside the box, and you NEED internet access in order to download the game, so keep that in mind if you don't have internet readily available.

Bought because I got addicted to Nintendo Land group games at a friends house. Ended up buying Mario Party 10 (mediocre) and Smash Bros U (good, but not great for my friends group of non-gamers) and Toad Treasure Tracker (great, but pricey compared to puzzle games on mobile platforms). Console itself is great. Splatoon is great (as a non FPS player I love it). I only wish it came with at least one Wiimote Plus.

The WiiU is a failure of a system but for those that have purchased one... they got a fun addicting system. Coupled with Splatoon, a great game, I recommend anyone interested in Nintendo games pik one up.

The Wii U is awesome and well worth it. Very underated console with a backlog of very fun games such as splatoon and smash brothers. The gamepad is a very useful and innovative tool.

I bought it play games with my kids without worrying about so much adult material This game is extremely fun to play, and anybody can play it. Wii u also is very user friendly.

I openly admit I am not a "gamer" by today's standards. I think video games should be a fun way to relax, not a lifetime pursuit that leads to rage quits, swearing, and an addiction to my TV. If that's what you are looking for I strongly suggest the Wii U, and especially this bundle because Splatoon is amazing! This is actually the second Wii U I have bought because my wife and I wanted to be able to play Splatoon online together, and unfortunately the only way to do that is by using separate Wii U consoles. I wish there was a split screen option, but there isn't so I had to go this route. Well played Nintendo, well played.

the wii system is great for 3ds players and former/current wii users. The Nintendo games are very enjoyable and I especially love splatoon. It is my favorite game by far.

We tested the demo at a local Gamestop & the representative for Nintendo recommended this bundle. We decided to upgrade to the Wii U and we are more than pleased with our decision. My daughter & I can play this game for hours! We have guests over and they fall in love with the game as well. I will definitely recommend this bundle as it is a GREAT buy :-)

9 year old boy absolutely loves this system and this bundle. He has a great time playing it online with his friends.

The BestBuy exclusive Wii U Splatoon bundle is a great way to get back into fun, lighthearted gaming. These days so many games try for dark and gritty on the other gaming consoles. It's refreshing to have a console that has a library of games that take you back to just having fun. It's been nostalgic for me getting the Wii U. The bundled game, Splatoon, is fantastic. It's Nintendo's take on the online multiplayer shooter genre. Really imaginative gameplay combined with the theory of rewarding game mode objectives over kill count. It's simple. You paint the ground with ink. Though it is primarily an online multiplayer game, it does have a single player mode. It's worth playing through to get some unlockable weapons and the boss fights are super fun and unique. Nintendo has also been very solid in supporting the game since release with what seems like weekly updates to add more weapons, stages, and game modes. Ages 4 to 40. It matters not. You will have fun. It should be noted that the bundled Splatoon game is a digital download (you do not get a physical disc in the box). The console has 32 GB of space that is expandable via external USB storage device. This is great for downloading games from the Nintendo eShop. They offer current Wii U titles, but also give you the chance to play older games originally released for Nintendo's older consoles (NES, SNES, N64, Wii, etc). It also has great support for playing Gameboy and DS games through the eShop with multiple options to choose how you want the Wii U to display the screens. The Wii U is directly backwards compatible with the Wii, so you can use the Wii games and controllers. The Gamepad that comes with the Wii U has a large touchscreen display that can be used instead of the TV for supported games. For example, you can use it to play games and not tie up the TV for others in your household. The Gamepad is rechargable, and comes with a nice charging stand. 4-5 hour battery life is plentiful for most play sessions. The Wii U has one output, HDMI. That's it. So while this probably isn't an issue for most people, it should be noted that if you don't have a TV with HDMI, you are out of luck. I was able to get this bundle on sale which really increased it's value even more for me. This is simply a must have console if you want to play the Nintendo brand games. You can't get Mario and Zelda anywhere else, and they look stunning in 1080p. The Virtual Console and Nintendo eShop makes this console a virtual time machine allowing you to re-live some of your fondest gaming memories as a child, and share them with your own children. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Splatoon is a fantastic addition to the Wii U lineup. It is completely different from other shooters, and is actually enhanced by the lack of voice communication. It's about time kids can't yell at me while playing multiplayer.

Splatoon is a fun game you'll get a lot of hours out of. Definitely would suggest only if you have a stable connection to play online matches with, the meat of the game is really online. So far I've only had one issue a week after using the wii u. Had to mess with the internet settings a bit to stop it from disconnecting every 5min. I think Splatoon is a great addition to the wii u, a long with mario kart and smash bros, it's definitely a fun system to have. Nintendo is also frequently adding new content to Splatoon, which is a definite plus.

Bought this for the family. The kids love playing Splatoon and the system is easy for them to play.

Nintendo has always been innovative, whether it'd been performance, or accessories, from the GameCube's interesting use of Mini Discs, or the Wii's use of the Wii Motion Remote. Let me start with the one con, I had issues with... Storage! 32GB of onboard storage is not acceptable by todays' standards, I mean literally 1 game(Just Dance 2015) took ~18.7GBs, meaning with just one game. the Wii Us' 32GB was almost gone, now technically you can add external storage, but I found that to be a nightmare as a lot of external Hard Drives, weren't compatible. And although an SD Card Slot is available on the front it can't be used for game storage. Now after this annoying problem, the Wii U is pretty perfect, and innovative with the use of the GamePad, which was awesome, especially when you in the bedroom, and the Wii is in the living room or den. All in all this this was awesome, I just wish we had more FPS games.

My 6 year old loves this game so much that we have to limit his play time on it. He has started getting dressed early each morning during the week so that he can play Splatoon for a few minutes before school...bad parents :) We let him play as long as he remains a good sport when he gets splattered.

I love my Wii U! I purchased this unit as a replacement as my daughter was moving out and has more game history on the old unit than I do. Looking forward to starting all over from scratch. I let my daughter have the Splatoon download (this type of game is beyond my capabilities) and she enjoys the game - would be better if you didn't need a special controller for a second player to play. As for me, I enjoy WiiU Fit, Mario Cart and Lego Jurassic Park. WiiU is the right technology for someone of my limited skill level.

Pros: -Splatoon is amazing. You save quite a bit by not having to buy the game at full price ($60, not going down for a while because it is so popular) -Gives you everything you need to start playing (this is rare) -Works with Wii controllers and games Cons: -The WiiU library is very limited. You're going to be playing a lot of Nintendo 1st party games. -The tablet controller looks cool, but it strains your wrists more than a traditional console controller. And you can't buy a second one. -WiiU and Wii controllers are still very expensive, despite being old technology.
