PROS: - Super easy to setup - Low profile - Allows you to rotate phone in various positions - Magnets are VERY strong CONS: - Car mount can't really be moved later -- SETUP -- Setting up the Nite Ize couldn't be easier. There are only three components to this dash mount: (1) The mount/metal ball, (2) "orbiter" socket, and (3) super slim metal disk to attach to your phone/case. The first thing you need to do is decide where you want to have the mount located on your dash. It uses very strong 3M adhesive, so choose wisely, since you're not really supposed to be able to relocate it later. Then you just use the included alcohol wipe to clean the spot on your dash to attach the mount. After placing the mount on the dash, you just put the "orbiter" magnetic socket on the mount. This is how you attach your phone to the mount. Finally just attach the little metal disk (which also uses strong 3M adhesive) to the back of your phone or phone case (idealy in the center). That's it! Now you can just let the magnets do their thing to effortlessly attach and detach your phone from your new magnetic dash mount. -- DAILY USE -- Since the dash mount is essentially just a big metal bearing, you can adjust your phone in various angles and positions based on what viewing angle you need (or if you want your phone in portrait or landscape mode). The "orbiter" socket has a rubber center, so it helps to prevent the phone from sliding around on the metal ball. Even with the roads filled with snow and ice, bumping around doesn't seem to matter to the Nite Ize dash mount, my phone stays right were I put it. The mount is a reflective metal ball, so I don't know how warm it will get this summer (it's currently February in Minnesota), so it's something to keep in mind for later use. -- BOTTOM LINE -- I love this mount. I really am tired of using bulky mounts that use suction cups to attach to my dash. I also refuse to use the vent mounts, since they block heat/air. Having this magnetic mount is fantastic and couldn't be simpler to use. I HIGHLY recommend considering it if you're looking for a new phone mount for your car.

Good choice to be hands free in your car. Your able to mount it anywhere you want. Very easy to install.

Very useful abs versatile. Holds well especially considering I drive an 18 wheeler which bounces and shakes harder than a car.

This phone mount is definitely one of the better mounts available today. The design of the orbiting ball is what excited me most about this product. I've had magnetic mounts in the past, and I definitely preferred them over vent mounts, suction cup mounts, etc, so I knew the magnetic function would be great. A big downside to my previous magnetic mount was the way of adjustment was having to tighten up a ring that was around the socket, which was nearly impossible to do as it sat close to the dashboard and was in a tight spot for most fingers, so the mount usually ended up moving in the tightening process. With this nite ize mount, since there is no tightening involved, it is so easy to adjust and put it to the angle that is most comfortable for you, making it the best mount I've used yet. It's also is not bulky and does not stick out nearly as bad as some mounts out there. Nor does it feel cheap, all the pieces are metal and feel heavy duty, finally something that is not cheap plastic. I would say the only downside is that you most likely have to stick a magnet to your phone/phone case. With some cases you can get away with putting it behind the case, between the phone case and phone. For me it stays, but on heavy bumps it falls, I just prefer not to put the magnet on my case. Also important to note, make sure you have a spot on your dashboard/console area that your phone will fit. With how big phones are getting, I didn't realize how difficult this could be. In one of my cars, the phone would either be in front of a vent, in front of the radio screen, or right where the shifter goes when not in park. In our other car we had a perfect spot for it, it just depends on the vehicle. Before purchasing, experiment with where you would mount it to make sure it will work for you. Overall it is an excellent product that I would recommend.

Works great except the tape that mounts to your dash is not very sticky and needs to be mounted to a smooth surface, most cars have textured dashes. The magnet also teens to slip down on the ball when you hit bumps and you phone weeks up facing down.

If you use this product as it’s intended to be used, you’ll find yourself with a quality phone mount! First impressions alone, this product is sleek, looks nice, and feels hefty (does not feel cheap). Make sure you have smooth dashboard and phone/case surfaces in order to use this mount. You could slide the phone magnet disk under a phone case but your case may be too thick for the magnet to work properly. This is meant for the phone magnet piece to connect directly to the ball plate. Follow the application instructions, make sure your surfaces are clean before adhering. All in all, I was on the search for a phone mount that doesn’t slip, fall, or slowly tilt and I am satisfied with the product’s quality and usefulness. The magnet pieces on this unit are very strong and sturdy. If you’re okay with the adhesive being on your dashboard or phone/case for a prolonged amount of time, then this will be a great product in comparison to a suction mount or a vent mount. The small drawback (may not be a drawback to other consumers) of a long term adhesive is worth it if you want a good, strong phone mount. This product does what it says it does and feels like/works as a high quality mount.

I am always dropping or losing my phone in my cars. This thing is perfect. Easy mount and bam! Never lose your phone again. I need readers so I mounted it an extra foot away. It’s easy. Or just mount it somewhere else.
