This was one of the best Coen brothers movies in recent years. This movie's cinematography was outstanding - entertaining in its own right. The story line was entertaining. However, be prepared for the violence. It is pretty graphic and not for the faint of heart. Never the less, movie turns out to be a morality play - but one you will have to puzzle out yourself. As you would expect, the Coen brothers don't make this an easy movie to understand but well worth the effort. I strongly recommend this movie.

SYNOPSIS: While out hunting, Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) finds the grisly aftermath of a drug deal. Though he knows better, he cannot resist the cash left behind and takes it with him. The hunter becomes the hunted when a merciless killer named Chigurh (Javier Bardem) picks up his trail. Also looking for Moss is Sheriff Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), an aging lawman who reflects on a changing world and a dark secret of his own, as he tries to find and protect Moss. Once again great feature and first watched this title borrowed from a friend. Worthy entry for my ever growing Blu-ray collection. Be sure NOT to give away ANY spoilers!

NO COUNTRY......IS AN ACQUIRED TASTE I MUST ADMIT. ITS NOT PARTICULARLY FAST-PACED(ALTHOUGH IT HAS ITS MOMENTS). IT IS A MORE VISCERAL, NUANCED TYPE OF FILM THAT LEADS TO A LOT OF HIGH PRESSURE AND TENSION. THEN OUT OF THE BLUE THE GANGSTER SHOOTOUTS COME AND THEN BACK TO THE FANTASTIC DIALOGUE. THE MAIN BAD GUY(PLAYED BY JAVIER BARDEM) DESERVED THE OSCAR FOR HIS PERFORMANCE. IN MY OPINION HE WILL NEVER HAVE A BETTER PERFORMANCE IN HIS LIFE, THIS MOVIE DEFINES JAVIER AS THE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE ACTOR THAT HE IS. IF ANYTHING, JUST SEE IT FOR JAVIER BARDEM, YOU OWE HIM THAT MUCH!!! LOL

Javier Bardem's breakout movie as one of the mostly subtle movie villains in recent history that really gets under your skin and scares the heck out of you because you don't know what's going to happen next, but you know it's going to be awful. This is also the movie that made Josh Brolin one of the hotter stars in Hollywood for several years after, due to his excellent performance. Tommy Lee Jones was kind of a throw-away in this movie as far as I was concerned, but he was fine in it. Same with the short appearance of Woody Harrelson - they really could've gotten anyone else to play the part. The cinematography in this movie is beautiful and the tension is palpable. Get it!

This book/movie holds a special place in my heart for reasons not appropriate in a Best Buy movie review. However, I will say that independent of my emotions, this film is truly one of the all time greats and actually adds quite a bit to the novel instead of gutting it like what normally happens. If you are a person of any age with time to spare, spend the weekend with this novel and movie-you'll be glad you did!

This is a straight ahead, blunt, pitiless portrayal of escalating violence in drug smuggling. It is also visually stunning, droll and captivating. Josh Brolin's performance is perfect. You can read his thoughts as he makes one bad decision after another. Javier Bardem is enigmatic, surprisingly resourceful and very scary. Tommy Lee Jones brings the gravitas that puts this 1980s "period piece' in perspective, and Woody Harrelson provides the much needed comedic relief.

Searched this movie after reading some movie reviews. As described in these reviews, Anton Chigurh is the most impressive villain. His unstoppable chase is like a terminator. However, after the second half spent lots of time in monologues, and not easy to understand what they imply, and what they want to tell. I had to go back to reviews to understand them. But overall it is one of the good movies which I can recommend.

The reason I bought this movie was because I wanted to get the digital copy. I was afraid that the digital copy could have expired but it didn't. Now, talking about the movie, it is a very exciting movie and well directed. Despite it lacks score, it keeps you in the edge of your seat. Javier Bardem is great in this movie. He is the bad guy but you will like him. Guarantee of this movie is the 4 Academy Awards it won including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor.

I really like this movie, but the ending leaves me blank. Not direct end, I understand it’s right out of the book. From what I hear the movie stayed pretty faithful to the book. But I just wanted something different from these characters. Still a great movie, one of the coehn brothers movies.
