I wanted to like this game. The updates certainly made it seem very appealing and fleshed out. However, for a first timer after all these years I was surprised by how empty and boring the game is. The primary game mechanic is pointing a ray beam at the ground. I also don’t care for voxel games, to be fair. It just doesn’t do it for me. Some people will like it, some won’t.

No Man's Sky will live in infamy as a cautionary tale of hype. It wasn't very good at launch, but fast forward to today and, hey, it's pretty good. All of the new updates have gone a long way towards making this game feel like a more complete experience. It's a difficult game to describe. Lots of mining and resource scavenging and exploring. It's a massive time-sink and it can get repetitive, though it's also oddly addicting. I recommend looking at some gameplay videos before purchasing.

Solid game when I picked it up and they have been doing a lot of updates ever since, game is getting better and better.

I had originally purchased this on the PS4 and I know they have struggled to catch up and deliver what they originally promised in the game but I feel like they have done that and so much more. It was awesome to venture back into the world of Atlas again and I have burned more time on this lately than anything else that has come out. There is so much to do, see, discover, that its easy to get lost in the cathartic worlds that it procedurally generates for you. The developers made good on what they said and the game is awesome now with them always adding free content (Latest was submarines, underwater bases, and more diversity to the oceans) Great game!

Game is way better than when it first came out. It is fun to play with friends but is also entertaining to play alone

The original release on the PS4 was lackluster and disappointing. I've never seen a game make such a turn around. People were lining up demanding refunds before, and now singing praises of the numerous updates. Space exploration is better with friends. Explore and mine planets. Set up bases and use resources wisely. Travel galaxies, battle space pirates, trade and upgrade and space stations. Plus much much more I barely scratched the surface. It's a lot more enjoyable that the previous iteration.

I was not having that much fun at first playing solo. once I got into some games with friends and people who knew what they were doing it was a good time. The tutor does not do a good job of explaining everything going on in this game so I do recommend checking some youtubes videos if you do not have people that know what they are doing. Now I am just cruising the universe hunting pirates and collecting bounties having a blast.

Definite improvement over the initial release. Love the eploration and graphics. It's like Minecraft but in space. Learning curve is steep but worthwhile.

I purchased No Man's Sky originally on the PS4 over two years ago. I got bored with it simply due to its lack of content. During this time, the developers have invested a significant amount of improvement into the game, including a newly added multiplayer mode. I purchased this simply so I can play with my friend over Xbox Live. I'm really excited to get back into No Man's Sky.

Bought the game when it first came out 2 years ago. Very bare bones for full price. Not much to do and no story line at all and chances of ever meeting anyone else online was near impossible. Finally now coming out on Xbox this time with upgraded 4K Graphics and more things to do like co-op and PVE, it's about there for full prime time.

This game isn’t for everyone, but if I’m in the mood for a chill exploration game, or chill space building game, or a chill survival game, then this game is perfect, 5 stars. The game isn’t perfect- it doesn’t have the best action, but it has some action. The story isn’t the best, but it has a cool story in there. Key word - chill.

Great game I have spent a lot of hours on this game and I enjoy every second of it, this survival game has everything you could ever want out of a space game. Scenery is beautiful and you forge your own path throughout endless universes this game has multiplayer included so anyone can join your journey at any time but still makes for a good solo game to just explore for yourself. I would recommend to anyone who likes playing survival games

Picked this game up on recommendation from a friend and so far it's exceeded my expectations. The gameplay is very addictive and there's always that drive to explore to see something new because the entire universe is procedurally generated so it's always a surprise of what you'll find when you land on a planet

The graphics are much better than the PS4 but the game is also much harder than it was on yh we PS4.

I have bought this game twice. Once when it first came out for the PS4 and now. Initially, I was disappointed but now with the countless updates, this game is truly excellent. If you like crafting, mining, fighting, flying, or flying in a spaceship this game is for you.

This game is a blast. I know when it was first released there was a lot of backlash about the developers not delivering what they promised. Well a couple of years and countless updates later, I think they delivered. Flying around an endless universe never gets old for me. I'm still new (only 18 hours) into the game but it has yet to grow old. Quite the opposite actually. I'm constantly finding things to do and I love it.

After several updates, this game get better and better. The main gameplay is survival - getting resources to keep the player alive. The game engine needs still much improvement especially for the object manipulating. If you have kids, this is a good choice to spend time with them for a while.

The game is fun once you get the hang of the controls and the many ways to craft things.

I bought No Man's Sky when it originally came out for the PS4 back in 2016. The game back then was not what I expected and I was disappointed like many others. I saw they updated the game two or three times and came out with the current version that I bought for the Xbox One. Finally the game is what I expected back then. It is much better and more fun to play. I am happy that I bought it the second time.
