    Worth the Wait

The Spill Canvas has been blown me away one more time. While I do miss the acoustic days from Sunsets & Car Crashes, they have matured alot and have kept and adapted the lyrical style that has made them popular. When I listen to their songs it sounds like something that a person would really be feeling or thinking. Even though some may complain their songs are too "emo" since it deals mostly with relationships and/or lost loves and stuff. . . Now onto my only con. While this is a step up from their last album, I feel as though some of these new tracks have been made into "radio friendly songs", and given a pop/rock beat. Now while I do admire them for wanting to expand the fan base and explore styles and make more money, I just hope they do not turn into other certain bands selling out to music television.

the spill canvas has been one of my favorite bands since day one. musically and lyrically they are amazing. even seeing them live is truly an inspiration. i was excited not to be let down by this cd. the lyrics are definite, and not extremely annoying like some of the bands have been lately. along with the first review on this page, i agree that some of the songs have been made into radio friendly songs, a little too pop-like for me. some of the songs are much for me to listen to and take seriously. however; definetly not a let down. highly recommended. =]

Good album, though it pales in comparison to both Sunsets and Car Crashes and One Fell Swoop lyrically. I was absolutely blown away by almost every song on both the aforementioned albums and was far less impressed by this one. Still, it's a decent compilation with a few shining moments, and definitely worth checking out. The band is amazing. If you like this album, or any of their singles, I would also highly recommend investing in the rest of their stuff. It's worth it.
