Customers find value in the Steel HR Activity Tracker + Heart Rate's excellent battery life and stylish design. Many appreciate its accuracy and ease of use, along with its ability to track heart rate and sleep. However, some users report inconsistencies with step tracking and skin irritation from the band. The step tracking and band issues are reported by a smaller number of users.

I wanted an activity/sleep tracker without something on my wrist that is a blatant ad for fitbit etc. This watch looks like a regular classic watch and has all the added benefits. Best battery life on the market.

Good looking hybrid watch but there are few technical issues. I own 40 mm steel HR. Step counting does not match between one shown in watch and in APP. Always steps in watch is more and App it is less for the same day same time.
Support of any kind is very very poor. Returns process is too complex..
They make you so frustrated that you will never look at this product.....

The battery life is 40 days, and power saving mode gets you an additional 20 days. It's really innovative, because most fitness watches with a heart rate monitor can't even last a week. I had the Jawbone UP3 before this, and it lasted almost a week, which is still good.

I first bought a fitbit but it would keep steps counted correctly. I then switched for the Withings and it is very accurate and much better looking then the Fitbit.

Great classic looking watch with good water rating but step counter doesn't seem to be accurate compared to my jawbone up3.

I received my watch today and set it up. After setting it up the watch would not sync.
I tried the normal restarting, uninstalling reinstalling the app, un-assigning reassigning the watch, resetting the watch and going through the steps again with no success. Even added another bluetooth device in my home to make sure it was not phone related.
I then decided it was time to contact support. I went through the questions on their website and it suggested I contact support. When i clicked on contact the only option is email. When I searched on google there are multiple complaints of only being able to contact by email.
Even chat would have been an acceptable option.
I am glad I had the issue now because I would have hated to figure this out after my return period was over.
I am returning the watch because email only support is as good as no support in my opinion.

I purchased the Withings HR Monitor watch. I was able to pair it with me Iphone 6 with no problems. I purchased a new Iphone 7 and couldn't get it to sync with my new phone. Withings does not have a customer service (or any other listed) phone number so I emailed customer service no less then 20 times since mid March to 4 different customer service reps. I still cannot sync my watch and they refuse to honor the warranty!!! I have contacted Best Buy corporate office and they are monitoring all correspondence. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM WITHINGS...BUY A FIT BIT INSTEAD. MY WIFE IS VERY HAPPY WITH HER FIT BIT!

Best activity tracker I've owned, perfect for me!

I've used just about every activity tracker out there, certainly all of the most popular brands, ranging from $100 to $350. This HR Steel is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for!! I work in a professional setting, so this watch's design fits the bill for me. The ability to start and stop the tracking of an activity is excellent and I use this feature everyday. It automatically tracks when you run too, along with some other activities. The app features are wonderful from top to bottom, with lots of customizable features too. The steps are not 100% accurate as mentioned in the other prev. review, but I know this is an issue with all trackers. I've compare the "Best" of the best and they all vary by a few hundred steps when you get into the thousands. However, being off two or three hundred steps isn't a critical factor for me, I use it for much more than just counting steps. I can say that it's accuracy has been spot on for me when counting laps and miles when running on the treadmill. The setup of the watch was super easy, just synced it up with the app and done! The battery life is amazing too, I HATED having to charge my other trackers every other day or every three to four days. I also have the Withings Body scale and the pairing of these two together was seamless and easy too. The screen on this activity watch is crisp, clear, and very easy to read. The vibrating function for alarms and notifications is great too! Plus, it's water proof, not just splash proof or water resistant. I have not one negative thing to say about this activity watch, I absolutely LOVE it! I fits my every need for an activity tracker. The hear rate monitoring feature is excellent too, very smart mode design. If you are looking for something to count your every single step and or stairs climbed you should probably get a Polar or a Fitbit. I'm not saying this beats all other trackers, some have GPS and are designed for specific sports, and or more serious athletes, but I don't need the other extra bells and whistles, this has all I need! Way to go Withings!!

I bought two of these on 2/1/17...one for me and one for my husband. They are great-looking (for a tracker) and they offer most of the features desired by us non-competitive types. Unfortunately, the problems didn't surface until 1 1/2 months after purchase. My husband's watch fogged up while he was running the snow blower in our driveway. It eventually cleared up, but it happened again yesterday under the same conditions. Withings offers only email support (on the weekdays). They replied that this is normal, but now I'm reading other reviews saying it just gets worse over time, until the whole crystal clouds over. Not good!
And now when charging my 2-month old HR Steel, it no longer vibrates or shows a battery icon on the display, even though I know it is charging, because the app shows the charge percentage increasing over time. No telephone support, so again I have to send email messages. So far, the Withings Rep has just told me to clean the watch (did it) and charger, inspect the charge wire (it's fine) and he sent a copy of their directions on how to charge the watch. Duh! I KNOW HOW TO CHARGE THE WATCH! BEEN DOING IT SINCE I BOUGHT THE THING! My husband's watch--bought at the same time--works fine on MY charger. I am now waiting to hear back from my latest email. Yes, charging the Steel HR can be a PIA--especially when the charging function doesn't work properly.
I really wanted to love this tracker. On paper, it seemed to have everything I hoped for. But, so far, real-world experience has proven otherwise.
