    Banks Bad Rower

I purchased the rower in early December as a Christmas gift for our home exercise room. I assembled the rower shortly after Christmas and, during assembly, I noted some damage to the plastic housing around the rower strap assembly. I completed the assembly per the instruction booklet and when I initiated rowing strokes the powered up console failed to register properly. I contacted Nordictrak and was told to adjust the “reed” switch which I did to no avail. The tech I was speaking to then told me the console was bad and a new one would be sent. It arrived about a week later and, after installing it, still no proper operation. Another call to the tech department found me video chatting with a tech who could observe the console while I rower. Her finding was that a new”reed” switch was needed and it is “in the mail”. We shall see after the replacement switch arrives and is installed.

The machine itself is a lot less comfortable than a Concept2. It comes with a tablet to use the ifit subscription that comes with the machine, but it won’t actually load workouts despite being fully up to date. The resistance doesn’t go very high, and the lower end of the resistance is VERY easy. I’d probably recommend skipping this machine for what it costs. It’s not much more for a better machine.

We’re sorry the tablet included with this unit is not loading workouts quickly and that the resistance seems too low on this rower.

Please ensure that your WiFi connection is stable while uploading workouts. If this remains a problem, we would like you to contact us for more assistance.

This resistance issue is not typical for this machine’s design. We would like to help you get the resistance adjusted for correct performance levels.

Great Rower, Wish Came Without Tablet

This is a great rower, and accommodates multiple people’s sizes and intensities very well. It is easy to fold and store, but I could see someone with less strength finding it too heavy to make use of that feature. The reason for not giving this all 5 stars is that I wish I didn’t have to get the included tablet. I’ve been able to use the included iFit membership through the app on my iPhone, leaving me with a tablet that has no purpose.

The rower is great. The left foot pedal comes out of place but I placed a piece of plastic behind it which holds it in place just fine. Other than that the rower is great. My only real complaints are with I-fit. The rower was supposed to come with it free for a year, but Ifit said this offer was no longer valid for this model. They did offer their service free for a month, but the product was advertised to come with a year membership.

Item RW500 was easy to set up, and tablet and tablet holder was provided. Controls are a bit much to get use to but the resistance is unlimited it seems. The ifit subscription was provided in box of rower and was easy to set up. Tablet is cheap and you'll only want to use with your ifit compatible machines. My tablet died after 3uses and I had to contact ifit to get a replacement, they easily provided as it was still under warranty.

This is a really good rower for the money . I was sble to get the rower on clearance and only paid $350.00. The 30 preset workouts are a little hard to follow at first. But oversall its a good rower, i like both the air and magnetic settings.

Bought this on clearance, and it took 2 hours to assemble and register the product. Then when it came time to activate the gift card for 1-year iFit membership, the gift card was expired. Luckily, you can still use the rower without the membership (despite what the warning on the manuals say).

I have been building my home gym during Covid and this is my new favorite piece of equipment! It's not as loud as the Concept 2 (which has a crazy long waiting list just to order) I like that have the option to fold it up to save space, as it is quite a large piece of equipment. It comes with a small tablet that is mediocre. It doesn't stay charged for too long but it's not really a problem. iFIT software is just okay. Overall I am happy with my purchase. BB had the best price of any competitors.

BEWARE: Loud clicking noise from warped fan

This Nordic Track rower would be nice - not great, not bad but perfectly adequate - if it wasn't for the loud clicking noise that gets louder if you increase the resistance. Video here: https://i.imgur.com/YKqpThG.mp4 I took off the sides of the wheel to find that one of the plastic fans inside is warped and thus scrapes against a magnet. Most annoying thing is that there are a ton of people online complaining about this, so it appears Nordic Track's Quality Control leaves something to be desired.

    Buyer beware

The rower is just okay. The iFit application is just a waste and anyone buying the more expensive model for the larger screen is wasting their money. The only good thing is that it's sturdily built and fairly quiet. The pull handle is too low so it hits your knees and your toes strap in too close to the pull handle. I was going to return it after two days until I found out what they would charge me for freight and the restocking charge. My recommendation is to try it before you buy it.

We are thrilled to find out that you find our rower sturdily built and quiet. We strive to develop quality products that will last a long time.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the pull handle and toe straps. This kind of information can help us provide better service to our members.

Many members love using the iFIT workouts on a bigger screen for the beautiful scenery of outdoor rides and the coaches encouraging them to finish the studio classes. However, we understand that some members prefer to row at their own pace utilizing manual mode. Therefore, we provide both options to reach the largest audience.

If you have any questions or need anything from us, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

It's not nearly as noisy as some of it's competitors, like the Concept 2. Setup was pretty straightforward, and every part was labeled and easy to locate. The fact that it folds up when not in use is great. The machine ergonomics are excellent, and is it quite comfortable to use as my endurance increases. The large screen provides a lot of useful details on my workout. My wife and I use it several time a week each.

This was easy to assemble and is perfect for me. I get a great workout and love it. It folds up very easy and has wheels so I can put it in the closet when not in use. Being able to store it does not deter me from using it daily. I look forward to it. It is a nice easy workout and I always feel better afterwards. Definitely worth the investment. You can work as hard or as easy as you want.

Nice Rower, folds up great...however, there is no difference in the resistance 1-26, which means you're really not getting an efficient workout. If you're a man, this thing is like rowing air. Tried to get tech service with the chat feature, told to call...then calling I was told since I didn't pay for the best buy warranty they're done....It comes with a 10 year warranty, 2 for parts and 1 labor. Hasn't been but 9 months :( I will update after I actually call my local store and see about taking this bad boy in so I can get an actual hard workout!

The NordicTrack Rower was easy to assemble per the instructions. The mechanism works very well. We did have a screen that did not display the data clearly in some sections. We called customer service and they immediately sent out a new replacement screen that works fine. Their customer service was very positive to work with and they stand behind their products. Highly recommend NordicTrack & Bestbuy.

This is a nice machine for the money. It is not quite as smooth as a Concept 2 rower but it does the job. The controls/screen take a little bit of getting used to, especially for when you want to do a workout on your own vs. one on the iFit app. The iFit app has surprisingly been pretty useful. The owner includes a 1-year membership and we have been using the classes on it nearly every week. It was very easy to put together and also easy to fold up for storage.
