    The Rower’s display wouldn’t track anything at all after I unboxed it and assembled it. I had to adjust the reed switch to get the display to actually start tracking stats which was a mission to get done. This shouldn’t happen with a brand new machine that has never been used and that was just unboxed for the first time. I am extremely disappointed already at this machine!

      Sorry to read that this rower’s display needed a reed switch adjustment before it would track stats.

      The reed switch can adjust while in shipping before assembly, and would need attention at assembly to ensure proper performance. Does your display operate appropriately now that the reed switch is adjusted?

    We love the workout. What we don’t like is the screen needs charged separately. It’s a pain to remember to charge it.

    This NordicTrack rower is garbage. Purchased 2 RW500s. On both the electric resistance did not work.

    I've had a terrible experience with this machine. There is NO difference between levels 1-26. Why have 26 levels if there is no change in resistance? I had a service technician come out twice and also got conflicting information from the technical support team on the phone. Most say I should feel a big difference. Another plus the repairman said that's just how it is. I wish I could return it but it's past the 30-day return policy. I like NordicTrack brand, but this machine is not what I thought it would be. The two stars are for the iFit program you get for a year. There are some great classes to choose from.

    I bought this, brought it home, and unpacked it. Wow, it had a lot of assembly involved. Oh no, the holes dont always line up, and sometimes you can only put some of the screws in. But the worst part was its operation. You can adjust the resistance either using the buttons, or manually adjusting the fan. NEITHER made any difference. So I googled "RW500 resistance doesnt change", and guess what? There are lots of people with this problem, and NordicTrack support wont help them. There is even a YouTube video where this guy takes the wheel cover off, and explains in terms of physics, why this problem happens and how the NordicTrack is POORLY DESIGNED. 1 star for this cheap junk. 5 stars to BestBuy, for a pleasant return experience. I spent $200 more and got a rower (through BestBuy) that is HIGH quality and the resistance works.

      We’re sorry that the assembly for this rower did not meet your expectations and that there was a resistance inconsistency on the unit you had.

      Adjusting the resistance can be done following the steps on page 10 of your user manual. After adjusting digitally, you must fine-tune your resistance level manually by moving the resistance handle either toward the front or rear of the machine to increase or decrease resistance. Both steps will allow you to come to the resistance preferred.

      Assembly for this rower can be made easier using the free app called BILT, which estimates assembly should take 30 minutes when two people work together to accomplish the task.

    I want to warn anyone looking at ANY NORDICTRACK machine. By August, the machine would not turn on at all. We have been in contact with NordicTrack and iFit for literal HOURS of our lives. They continue to reject us for any parts for our broken machine, and have "lost" several of our support tickets. I have NEVER experienced a worse company in my life. FYI, we also purchased the two-year extended warranty on top of our machine still being covered under the first warranty, and still they won't fix it. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE.

    I noticed a tear in my resistance strap two weeks and a day after my purchase. One day outside of my return window. The iFIT/Nordic company sent me a replacement and told me it was “user replaceable”. The entire unit had to be disassembled, so they ultimately had to be pressured into sending out a tech. The tech replaced the part, put the unit together, and 24 hours after that, there’s a loud clicking sound. Would avoid this unit.

    It will have to go back

    My Nordic treadmill that I bought 10 years ago finally died so I decided to get a rower. The rower was delivered 11/4/21. It worked great until 11/22/21 when the timer and the stroke counter stopped working. I unplugged it & when I plugged it back in it worked for about 20 minutes. It has not worked since then. I paid for assembly and for the warranty. But if I am having issues 3 weeks after delivery I can only imagine what I will have to deal with a year from now.

      If any electronic functions on this machine are malfunctioning, it may be a simple issue with the wiring. Try this:

      Power off and unplug your machine. Check the assembly section in your user manual and find any wire connections that were assembled (these may be shown in the exploded drawings).

      Unfasten these connectors, then push each individual wire into its connector to make sure they are all fully seated. Inspect the pins on the connectors for any damage/bends. Then reconnect the wire harnesses, making sure the connectors are oriented properly and fully pushed together. (You might feel a small click when they push together.)

    I was really excited to get the rower and set it up. Set up wasn't too bad, but unfortunately as soon as I set it up it was apparent it was broken. The motor used to adjust the magnetic resistance was constantly clicking and wouldn't respond to any changes in the resistance setting. I reach out to NordicTrack twice and it took them two weeks to even respond to ask for photos and videos I already included with my original ticket. If you Google around you'll see issues with this motor is not uncommon.

      We are sorry this resistance on the rower hasn't been working as expected. Please understand that rowers are designed to provide a cardio-based workout, not a weight or resistance-based workout. This means that you must get at least 20 strokes per minute in order to feel the resistance change.

      At low strokes per minute, the fan speed is not fast enough for the resistance lever position to affect the resistance level. Although the resistance is changing, as evidenced in the volume of air displaced, the change felt by the user may not be as dramatic as expected.

      The resistance on this machine is generated when the flywheel fan moves fast enough to push against and displace the air in the flywheel housing. The resistance lever opens or closes vents in the flywheel housing to control the amount of air the fan can push.

      That being said, it should not be clicking loudly and we can offer assistance with any needed troubleshooting.
