I had purchased an earlier version several years back (15 years?) which had problems keeping up with my speech and would often misunderstand me and type random other words. I see this 2018 version has those same problems. The earlier version gave the opportunity to teach it to understand the person dictating better by reading at minimum 2 single spaced pages the program provided plus by entering more pre-typed pages. I didn’t have the patience then to do this and since then the computer I had became corrupted. I bought a Windows 10 computer to replace it, and finally got around to upgrade to Microsoft Word because Dragon Nuance was incompatible with OpenWord.
Dragon Nuance 2018 gives about one sentence to read to get the program to understand the dictation spoken. Due to this the problems mentioned above may not be able to be corrected, at least I haven’t found instructions otherwise.
Other problems are it appears when you wish to run the program, an internet connection may be required. Not just to register, but every time you turn the computer on. So no offline use. The default opens up your computer’s browser, again online connection required.
I haven’t used the program enough to get used to the command structures, who talks like this? At least it does allow you to move back and forth between typing yourself and dictating seamlessly.

The program is great and easy to use with the tutorial. The only reason it did not get a 5 star rating is that I cannot use my Word Program with it. I have Word 365 with all updates!

Excellent product I have used it for over 20 years.
Unfortunately in the past when I bought Dragon I was able to put it on at least three different computers. Unfortunately the new version only allow one computer what's up with that.

Great for only one user. I recorded multiple interviews and played them back, it did not work very well. It learns/ recognizes speech pattern of individual users who test read a script into it. Using it to help write dissertation for PhD

This program is very exciting, I am looking forward to learning all it can do. It will also help my husband, who is legally blind, then all I have to do is ck. & see if it is correct. I love the tuturiol , it will help to be able to figure out all the correct way to get a response, making it less confusing to use, plus there is a get "help" on things we can't figure out.

I have used this product before, but not for some time now. I just purchased a new computer, and once my techie gets me all set up, I am going to install this product on my new computer. I love the way it works. No more typing letters or documents. I just speak into the mic, and the typing is done for me. This is one of the few "GOOD" benefits of advanced technology.

Works well. Still has errors when speaking too quickly, but this continues to improve with each new version. Is much quicker than typing.

Unfortunately this comes from a hard-core Dragon user, i would have liked to have kept My old version of this software. Local notes of software was able to learn and adapt To your speech while this one does not. if you're asking why i did not keep the old version is because the keys ware lost when the os was destroyed, or when the hard drive failed. so i was not able to reactivate the software anymore. when i attempted to rectify this problem, the only solution dragon head for me was buy a new version. unfortunately due to myexperience with dragon, this new version is not worth the money at all. and i wish i could retun it.
it is unfortunate because i use dragon for all of my speech to text needs due to my disability.

Overall a fair product. there are problems sometimes with it understanding some words and it types something completely different. still a lot faster than typing. I just talk it out and then go back and correct it when the flow is done,

Went back to college and knocked my cataract lenses out of place. If I hadn't been able to start using Dragon, I would have had to withdraw from spring semester due to surgery not being scheduled until it happened a month and a half into it. Easy to set up. Easy to use!

It works great until it doesn't work anymore.
Seems to have a recurring problem with Google Chrome Extensions and keeps running afoul. Keeps jamming up and stops working right when in the middle of using it.
I have uninstalled it and re-installed it, I have reconfigured the google extensions, and I have tried to modify and fix the software from the disk.
As I said, it works until it doesn't.
One of the worst product experiences EVER!!!
Good luck to you, the next purchaser.

I have used Dragon at work for years. Just upgraded my home version. Not sure if it's the difference between the professional software vs the Home version, or my computer and microphone but the recognition on Dragon Home has been very inconsistent and doesn't work well with some applications. I was unable to get support by phone from Nuance, and my online request for assistance has yet to be answered.
