A: No, once it is set up, everything is on the computer.
Q: I want to use it to type a voice conversation I have on my iPhone will this work for that?
A: First, my disclaimer, I have access to Dragon at work, and have been researching it to decide if/which version to buy for home. Supposedly to transcribe an audiofile you need the professional version, which is about twice the price (and has a few other features, such as specific integrations for Excel and PowerPoint). That having been said, I don't see why you couldn't just play the conversation out loud next to the computer microphone and see what Dragon transcribes. Good luck.
Q: Home version isn't only on a CD. I need to download
A: This is a physical product. The box has a CD in it, but to use the program you need to register the code on the CD package (internet required). If you want to download the whole program instead you can. Both options are available with the box version, but the registration code only works once (you need to purchase multiples for multiple devices). If you don’t want to use the CD you can buy the online version instead. I don’t trust getting the code by email and bought the box.
A: My purchase was digitable and only allowed it to be downloaded once.
Q: Do I need a microphone for this and if so, which one should I get?
A: I use a $20 Logtitech headset with earphones and a microphone and it works well, Good luck. You miht want to practice with it few tines before relying on it. Also, you'll need to proofread the results very carefully,
Q: Can dragon home 15-windows be purchased on dvd or must it be downloaded?
A: This is a physical box with CD/DvD-Rom when purchased at Best Buy. Only the disc is in the box with registration code. You will need to register code online to use it. If you prefer to download you can, but registration code will only work for one device (you can’t download on one and use disc with another using same code).
A: I have not used the windows 10 voice recognition because I use excel a lot and dragon home 15 works great and it is easy to use.
