A Coffee Machine with Choices

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This Nutribullet coffee machine is all you need to become a coffee chef. It is a coffee machine with options. You can either brew a cup for yourself with the K-cup, or brew for a large group with the 12 cups carafe option. It has this very nice modern look and It is very easy to use with just a rotary selector. On the front you have a digital clock, a rotary selector and a display of your brewing options and cup sizes. The water reservoir holds up to 12 cups and it is very easy to detach and clean. The device itself may look big but it is super light and kind of slim. On the bottom it has rubber boots, which prevent the machine from slipping and scratching your countertop.
With the included K-cup pod holder you can serve up to 10oz. It also comes with a reusable K-cup pod if you wish to use any coffee of choice. A really nice feature that I liked is that it will switch automatically to its proper brewing selection depending on the attachment inserted, whether it is K-cup or regular basket. The K-cup brewing option you can select from 6, 8, and 10oz. The carafe you can select from 6, 9 and 12 cups. The included mug holder, you can fit a 7in tall mug if you want to take your coffee on the go. That being said the machine will pour the coffee directly into the mug, no more need to pour from the carafe.
This not being an espresso machine with all the steaming features at all, you will be surprised that you can make all these fancy drinks with it. Included in the box you get this recipe book that will show you how to make all these fancy drinks. From Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha and more, you will feel like you have your own Starbucks. The book is about 80 pages, with plenty of different drinks to try. The accessories included are easy to attach and detached, they're also easy to clean. Despite all the good things this machine have, there are takeaways. Like, it is not programmable, you don't have the option to schedule a brew at a certain time and other features you get from programmable coffee brewers.
Overall if you’re looking for a coffee machine that can give you choices, it looks nice and is easy to use and clean, this might be what you’re looking for. In the box you get the coffee machine, 12 cups glass carafe, water reservoir, brew basket, K-cup pod holder, reusable K-cup pod, gold tone filter, mug platform and coffee scoop.

Convenient 2-in-1 gets plenty hot w/small quirks

We've got two K-cup brewers at home already: a regular, non-display model for fast and quick brew jobs; and a jumbo digital model with all the bells and whistles. But our daughter is starting to grow into a coffee consumer as well, so we thought we'd give a combination unit a try as our kitchen counters simply couldn't accommodate even a mid-sized regular coffee maker. Although the Brew Choice looks like it has a lot of tricks up its sleeve, we discovered that it's really just a basic carafe coffee maker that happens to double as a basic K-cup brewer. The draw here, of course, is that you get to save some space by having both capabilities in a pretty slender unit. In that respect, the NutriBullet 2-in-1 does a GREAT job of giving you exactly what you expect and need, but not much more.
The change-up between coffee types is easy, but not seamless. The unit comes with two large plastic inserts; one with a K-cup sized basket and the other with a regular coffee filter-sized basket. Graciously, NutriBullet included BOTH a reusable K-cup filter and a reusable metal coffee filter (the regular brew basket is also large enough to take normal paper filters if you wish), as well as a pre-measured/pre-marked scoop that corresponds to one of the three carafe brew sizes. You lift the entire basket assembly out of the top of the machine and drop in the unit you want to match your brewing needs. The only problem is that you are then left to keep track of or store the other relatively large and unused basket assembly for the coffee type you don't need at the time. No, it's not a big deal, especially if you don't swap out the baskets that often; but it would have been quite the feat if NutriBullet had found a way to store a smaller K-cup assembly inside of the larger basket (or at least inside the unit itself) so that you didn't have large oddball pieces of the coffee maker lying around no matter what you decided to brew.
If you want a K-cup, just dump in however much water you need from whatever you're going to drink from into the water tank at the back (or keep the whole tank regularly filled, of course)--you then have the option for 6, 8, or 10 oz brews displayed on the left side of the digital readout. Cup size is selected by turning the dial to highlight the desired choice on the LED display and then pressing the center button to begin brewing. There is no brew strength adjustment like there is on some fancier models, just hot water shot straight through the filter--if you happen to select a brew size that is larger than the water in the tank, the digital display will let you know you're out of luck by displaying "H2O" once the water level is sufficiently low enough or goes completely empty during a brew cycle. The included glass carafe is graduated with numbers marking 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 cups. Oddly, however, you can only select 6, 9, or 12 cups of coffee from the options lit up on the right side of the readout. Those of you looking to brew something in the middle will either have to contend with brewing slightly more coffee you really need/wanted, or filling up the tank with less water than the next largest brew size selection and simply running through all the available water during a full brew cycle. This wasn't a big deal either; but it did seem odd that your first brewing choice starts at 1/2 of a full carafe--hope you're thirsty!
Heating time is slightly less than 30 seconds before hot water starts making its way through the filter; the integrated hot pad will keep the carafe warm for 2 hours before shutting off. There is a removable mug platform included with the unit that raises smaller cups and mugs closer to the mouth of the dispenser--ostensibly to reduce splatter during a K-cup brewing cycle. We found the reduced distance between the dispenser and the cup to be only slightly effective at reducing splatter; sadly, it did not eliminate it entirely. Like any decent coffee maker, those of you who are a bit impatient will be happy to know that the flow of hot liquid is cut off automatically if you remove the carafe in the middle of a brewing cycle; flow resumes once you put the carafe back in place. Conversely, you can press the center button again which completely cancels the current brewing job if you just want everything to come to a grinding halt. There is a nice, easy-to-read digital clock on the top of the display, but it is for timekeeping only--there is no programming or auto-start feature. Finally, one of the common experiences we've had with regular coffee makers over the past several years is that they simply don't brew the coffee hot enough. Here, the NutriBullet produced coffee that clocked in at nearly 180 degrees--certainly hot enough to burn the inside of your mouth if that's what you're after.
We can honestly live just fine with the excess basket part and filter lying around in between each type of brewing job; but if there was also a way to adjust brew strength, select a few more brew sizes, or program a start timer, that would have placed this unit far ahead of the competition. As it is, however, this little device still gets a thumbs-up for convenience and flexibility alone--especially because it delivers exactly what it is supposed to whether by filtered grounds or K-cup pod--definitely recommended!

NutriBullet is a great brand for kitchen gadgets. I’ve always felt that their products are well made and tend to last a long time. The Brew Choice coffee maker is a great addition to their lineup.
Right out of the box, you’ll notice that there are a lot of pieces that go along with this coffee maker. Once you look over the startup manual to figure out the function of each one, the rest is easy. You simply need to pick a spot in your kitchen for the coffee maker to sit, fill the holding tank with water, plug in, set the clock, then start brewing. The coffee maker will automatically detect when you are brewing from a pod versus the included gold filter into the carafe. When brewing from a pod, you have the choice of brewing 6oz, 8oz, or 10oz depending on the strength of brew you’d like. When brewing into the carafe, you have the choice of brewing 6, 9, or 12 cups of coffee. The coffee scoop will remind you how much ground coffee you need for the number of cups you want to brew. That’s a nice touch.
There are two things in particular that I love about this coffee maker. The first is that it is not picky about pods. It’s compatible with K-cups and you’ll never get yelled at for using a non-branded reusable pod because one is included. The other thing I love isn’t even part of the coffee maker itself, but rather the included recipe guide. This thing is loaded with really awesome recipes for classic drinks, specialty drinks, cocktails, desserts (that need a little coffee), frozen drinks, and the needed milks and sweeteners to make them. My current favorite is the lavender latte. If you’re a PSL fan, there’s a spiced pumpkin drink recipe in here too.
The one thing I don’t particularly like about this coffee maker is while there is a clock on the front of it, all it does is tell time. I think this was a missed opportunity to program brews, especially for those on the go. That way you could put your pod in the night before and have your coffee ready as you walk out the door in the morning. Alas.
At this price point, Nutribullet is definitely keeping up with the competition and giving you versatility others don’t. Despite the fact that you can’t program brews ahead of time, I’d still definitely recommend the Brew Choice if you’re in the market for a new coffee maker.

Nutrebullet Missed The Target On This One

The NutriBullet - Brew Choice 12-Cup Coffee Maker and Carafe is supposed to be that space saving ,goto,, one stop shop pot for all your quick coffee loving, morning jumpstarting needs. You get a 12 cup reservoir and 12 cup, glass carafe for sharing the morning wake me up or burning the midnight oil. And possibly my favorite part, is the fact that later model coffee makers are coming with their own forever filter in the box. It even comes with a brand new coffee scoop. There’s a small cord so make sure you’ve got a close by wall socket. And for your single K-cup needs, there’s a refillable single shot adapter and K-cup pod slot adapter along with a single mug stand to cover the hot plate. It’s been a while since I’ve used a glass carafe, so this may take a little getting used to.
Let me just say it. Yes, you see it on my desk. Because I’ve already got one in the kitchen and I’m spoiled. And I’m big on having coffee when I write. Let’s move on. After a thorough cleaning with warm, soapy water and a cleansing cycle, to flush the system out, I instantly went for the pod holder and made myself a single cup. And you know whatI found out? This is a coffee maker, in every way. I know, you’re shocked. But really, this did brew a good, single shot, cup of coffee. Now after enjoying that initial cup, I had to brew a whole pot. And this is where I started to worry.
This coffee maker says it’s a space saver, but what it lacks in width, it makes up in depth. So actually, it doesn’t save much space at all. Also, this is glass. And again, I have to get used to the hot pot. I’m a fan of the metal carafe, because they stay cool and keep my coffee hot for hours. We don’t get that here. The glass carafe gets, sue your local restaurant , hot. So I had to be careful while handling it. Not only does it give you the hot hand, but it only stays hot for a couple hours. And sadly( sorry, not sorry), I’m the kinda guy that likes a strong cup, and for some reason, this pot can’t seem to brew a strong pot of joe. I’m thinking it may have something to do with the way the filter is designed. I believe there’s too much filtration on the filter’s base and that’s not allowing the water to sit and strengthen the grounds. And it takes what seems like forever to brew a whole pot and I don’t understand , for the life of me, why in the world does this coffee maker not have an programmable timer for scheduled brewing? The K-cup is awesome though, which basically means I’ll be using this for single cups.
This is a really nice coffee maker. There’s no arguing with that. And it’s a solid first try from a company that normally makes blenders. But it misses the mark on the carafe, and the lack of a timer. The filter needs to be able to hold that water for a stronger brew. It just doesn’t. For the asking price of $139.99 USD, this needs to be better. I’m sorry. As much as I’d love to recommend this machine, I just can’t, in good conscience.
Drop the price by $30 bucks and I can see some justification for picking it up, for the K-cup maker alone. But as it stands, I’m going to have to go with a pass on this one.

I owe it to you to admit I'm particular about my coffee. I prefer pour-overs and French presses, but there are occasions when those methods are not feasible and even intolerable (parties, running late to work, impatient girlfriends).
That said, the cool thing about the NutriBullet Brew Choice Coffee Maker and Carafe is you can brew conventional drip coffee in 6, 9 or 12 cup volumes OR you can make a 6, 8 or 10 oz single serving with K-Pods. Even better, this product comes shipped with a reusable K-Pod. No waste. Nice! Drip coffeemaking is also via a reusable gold tone filter.
The unit is relatively easy to set-up. It has a removable water container for convenient filling and cleaning. What isn't so easy is dealing with all of the other removable components that provide the coffeemaking flexibility. That is: a brewbasket, pod holder, filter, removable mug platform, reusable pod and coffee ground scoop. The dilemma becomes "where do I store (and not misplace) all of these things?
I nearly forgot to mention there's a clock, but it not programmable.
The drip coffee is ok-to-good and the pod coffee slightly better. I personally look for more flavor and richness, but I will concede this machine is convenient.

The best of both worlds, large pot or single cup

I have limited counter space. I love a few cups of coffee before I head out the door in the morning. Most often one more in a to-go cup. But at night, a single cup will do.
The NutriBullet makes both possible without taking up premium counter space. There is a large removable fill reservoir on the back for making large pots of brew. The filter is reusable and cleans easily.
When I feel like a single cup the filter basket pops out and the k-type cup attachment takes its place. I can use the included smaller k-type reusable filter for an environmentally friendly no waste cup or my favorite packaged flavor, coffee, tea, or hot cocoa.
The NutriBullet really helps counter clutter while providing the right size cup of fresh coffee I Love.

This is a super nice coffee machine. I wanted one that would brew both a full pot of coffee and use pods. There are several that do this, but this is probably the smallest one I've seen. It automatically detects whether you have inserted the pod insert or the filter insert. This is a GREAT feature...BUT, it means you have to store whichever insert you're not using somewhere. That's my only negative for this machine. Also, I got it for $40 as one of BB's deal of the day.

Overall, my experience with this coffee maker has been excellent. I am very much a stickler for setup instructions (they need to be clear, easy to follow, and accurate), and NutriBullet checked off all the boxes. I had this machine up and running (including the cleaning phase) within 40 minutes. You can either use the 12-cup coffe carafe, K-Cups, or (my favorite), the reusable K-cup that comes with the machine. I cannot express how awesome it is to be able to fill up your own K-Cup to make a quick cup of coffee. Cleaning the reusable K-Cup is a breeze as well. The dials on the front as easy to follow and not overly complicated, which is nice since most will use this right after waking up. Great job by NutiBullet. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
