How many people can honestly say they lost weight over the past year? As the weather warms up, we begin to emerge from the safety of our houses and out from the grip of the pandemic. We rub our eyes in the bright sunshine, look down, and see...an extra 5-10 pounds on our bodies! The Nutribullet Smart Touch blender combo is my new diet helper. I was mainly drawn to this product for the powerful 1500 watt motor and travel cups/to-go lids as I am now making protein smoothies on a daily basis. I confess that I didn’t make any of the other recipes (soups, dips, sauces, etc). While the recipe booklet was attractive and easy to read, I would have liked to see more recipes in it. I did find 14 pages of great recipes at https://www.nutribullet.com/recipes in the categories of breakfast, desserts, beauty (masks and sugar scrubs), and more. The different parts are simply to use. The cups twist tightly onto the extractor blade and easily lock onto (and unlock from) the motor base. The size of the base is comparable to other combo blender appliances, so it doesn’t take up an excessive amount of counter real estate. I think the flat, digital control panel is a sharp innovation. It makes it so easy to keep the front clean from residue and dust. As matter of fact, cleaning all the pieces by hand was a breeze. I mainly stuck with the Smoothie and Frozen Drinks buttons, but occasionally used the medium and high speeds. I found the user guide quite friendly and it offered a lot of useful information. It is worth reading through this resource. The loudness of the unit was reasonable. I didn’t find it excessively noisy. I did find that the 98% of the ingredients blended up quite well, but occasionally I found a couple of pieces of ice cubes or dates that hadn’t been fully chopped or pieces of spinach were still visible. From the recipes I used, I ended up adding more liquid since the mixture wouldn’t be liquidated for almost 30 seconds. I attribute the chunks of food and ice to that. The user guide cautioned to blend for 1 minute or less when using the sealed cups due to heating up and increased pressure. The intelligent program was not as smooth to the ear as I would have expected. The sound of the motor ebbing for the gap between the intervals wasn’t as fluid a sound and it made me think there was a problem with the unit. There wasn’t, but it still made me nervous. The pitcher has a nice, solid feel to it. It isn’t as heavy as glass, but it also isn’t a cheap plastic. The size is ample (64 oz) and I like the flexibility to blend hot and cold liquids. The top of the pitcher has a removeable lid cap when means you can add more ingredients or liquid as needed. It also allows you to use the tamper (bonus – one is included!) to push ingredients closer to the blade. The pitcher lid doesn’t remove easily. First you have to pop it up at the tab near the handle. Then you have to pry off one of the sides. Maybe the suction is super strong, but I have to fight to remove the lid. People with less nimble fingers may find this a big drawback. This is a really good blender combo; powerful, polished, and productive. If you take time to look at the recipes in the booklet or online, you will find yourself using it more than you originally anticipated. With summer quickly advancing, it will be great for making frozen drinks on the deck when socializing with friends.

I looked up a video comparing blenders and this one won by a landslide in most categories. I'm happy with my purchase
