Customers commend the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB GDDR6X for its exceptional gaming performance and impressive GPU capabilities, frequently praising the card's design and size suitability for various builds. However, some users note the high price point and elevated temperatures during operation, along with occasional fan noise and coil whine. While many appreciate the high resolution capabilities, potential buyers should be aware of these potential drawbacks.

Great Performing Card - Questionable Value

Performance - Upgrading from a 2080 super I got last year. I tried for a 3080 at the time but it was apparent getting one was going to be difficult without paying scalper prices, which I refuse to do. Performance is better, but obviously the 2080 super is not really a slouch of a card. I look forward to using this card for years to come. The card is just a straight up beast. Pair it with at least a quality 750 watt PSU, though I would spring for 850 watt. Also make sure your CPU wont be a bottlekneck. For reference I am currently paired with a i7 7700k, so far I am only seeing a bottlekneck in cyberpunk and its very slight and not at all a consistent bottlekneck. That game still runs maxed out 1440p at 45-60 fps and can get consistent 60 when toying with RT and DLSS sliders. I look forward to testing in 4k, but need to set up the TV for that one. I have no doubt it will not disappoint.
Price - The value proposition here is a bit odd. Is it a discounted 3090 or a overpriced 3080? Its a bit of both. If you are a gamer and looking at a 3090, you may want to consider this card instead as it performs basically the same unless you are just really wanting to push 8k (doubt), and need that extra vram (you don't at any normal resolution). If you can get at MSRP the price is fair in this market (July 2021). I don't blame Nvidia for wanting a cut of the pie. In this market you may just want to go with this 3080ti anyways as it seems Nvidia is diverting production that would have gone to 3080s to the 3080tis and are much more likely to be in stock.
Availability - elephant in the room here. Getting these is going to be hard at MSRP, but I want to applaud BB here for actually doing the organized ticketed release events in store for the FE cards. This is the only reason I managed to get this card. Fortunately everyone who was waiting in line with me at BB managed to snag a card and it looked like a few were left over. Its nice to see that in store events are happening because us mortals don't stand a chance against the scalper bots. I have been trying for a year to get a 30 series. I resolved to get a 2080 super last year just to get me by until I could get the one that I wanted.
Conclusion - Keep an eye out for announcements on in store releases. I hope that BB continues to do them and if someone at BB is reading this you are getting a big thumbs up from me. You guys rock. Thanks for helping get these in the hands of REAL gamers. On the 3080ti specifically I would only recommend to those that really dont have price in mind and just want the best performance. If budget is more of a concern go with the 3070/3070ti as its and incredible value. The 3080ti is a luxury item and is priced as such.

Worth it...if you have a 4k 120hz OLED or monitor

I understand this card isn't for everyone. Admittedly, its extremely expensive for the performance in comparison to the 3080. If anything, they should have named it a 3090 lite, or something to portray it as closer to a 3090 than a 3080 which is what it is.
I spent 24 hours waiting in front a Best Buy to grab this at MSRP and it was defiantly worth waiting on the smelt pee smelling sidewalk of Los Angeles in Hollywood.
That said, it's amazing. I might seem crazy...but I was upgrading from a 3060 Ti--some would call that a side grade--and I mainly made the jump because I have a OLED CX 120hz and I just wasn't able to fully utilize it with my previous card. Now I can play and edit on glorious 4k 120hz OLED without issues--barring maybe cyberpunk but that's an obvious outlier. The design is the best in comparison to other AIB designs. It's just classier.

1st - This card is a BEAST!!! 2nd - It runs HOT!!! Make sure you have a solid power supply with tight voltage regulation or this card will burn it up! I have an EVGA G3 850W PSU and it powered this card like a champ. I play games at 1080p and 2K/QHD and everything just screams. 100+ FPS in all my games. I also do a little mining on nights and weekends. Again, even with LHR this card chews through everything I throw at it. That said, it does suffer from the heat issues that many online reviewers have warned of. The solutions, replace all the thermal pads with new top notch pads... WARNING - this MAY void your warranty and should only be done if you are EXTREMELY confident with electronic repairs. That said, once you replace the defective pads the temps drop by 12-20 degrees Celsius. No joke. I bought this after camping out all night at Best Buy for a restock event and got it at MSRP. Totally worth it! Love the card, but just know you will need a rock solid PSU (and probably to replace the thermal pads) in order to bring out its true potential - hence the 4/5 stars.

Upgraded from a 3070 and very impressed with the added performance. I’ll start with the cons first: this is a blower style design, so it will get pretty loud. Blower style is made to exhaust the heat out the rear of the card and thru the back of your case. This design is ideal to prevent heat soak to your CPU.
The performance of this card is truly impressive. Even with the new 40 series cards available, this GPU should remain relevant for at least another 6 years. I would consider this card more of a watered down 3090 than a beefed up 3080. The specs are much closer to a 3090.
Coming from a 3070, I used to get 110-130 FPS on Apex Legends on 1440p - high settings. With the 3080 Ti, I’m now maxing out my monitor’s full potential. I’m getting a fixed 165 FPS at 1440p - high settings. When I unlock the vsync, the FPS hovers around 220 to 240 FPS.
Would recommend this card at its current sale price of $900 versus its original $1200 price. Good for 1080p, 240hz refresh rate gaming. Great for 1440p, 165hz gaming. Excellent for 4K, 60hz gaming.

Fix your thermal pads.
So camped out to get a 3080, but two scalping groups at the front of the line had a bunch of people acting as mules, well they bought most of the 3080 supply.
I had to get a 3080 TI or wait forever to buy one, so I swallowed the fact I would be paying more and got the TI.
****The thermals were pretty horrible, so I ordered some GC extreme pads and paste, 1.5mm on front, 2.0 on back. Would recommend 2 packs of both to get perfect coverage.
After fixing the card by removing the few poorly placed crap pads Nvidia put on it and placing the 60$ worth of new 500% better pads on it and reassembling, WOW.
Now this card maxes temps at 72*c and memory is down from 104*c to 71*c. This is at stock while playing Horizon New Dawn.
Since it's staying cool and the Fan isn't ramping up to save it's memory from melting it's quiet and boost to over 1900MHZ for most of the game session with tiny drops to 1850 ish.
I am ordering new fans to circulate the case air better, but that's pretty good.
Coming from a 1080TI it's a great boost in speed and I sold my old card for below market to get it into another gamer's rig.

This card is very powerful and the build quality of this particular card is phenomenal, like a tank. But it is too expensive msrp for what you get, and a not an efficient chip for the what you get. These are basically 3090 chips that couldn't pass binning. But this Founders Edition includes basically the same cooler as the regular 3080, instead of the better 3090 cooler. Consequently, the fans must run faster in order to keep temps satisfactory, which means this card is much louder than my others. Even then memory temps are higher than on other cards, for example my EVGA 3080Ti FTW3, while still hot runs several degrees C lower than this card, and at lower fan speeds. It is a very powerful chip but overly power hungry. You use a lot more wattage for nowhere near an equivalent gain in performance over lower end cards. Nvidia is essentially gouging with the high msrp of this and other newer cards, because they know they can get away with it due to continued high demand due to the current global chip shortage. Bottom line, it's still very hard to get GPU's and that isn't likely to change, so you'll probably want whatever you can get your hands on at anywhere near msrp. But This particular card would probably be pretty far down the list of choices, and that goes for gaming use or mining use. History will look back on this 3080Ti chip as a money grab by Nvidia. But it is a beast.

Get a good microphone if you are streaming. because this card can get loud but will stay very cool….. you only need water cooling if you cant stand the sound when gaming with headphones…. when the card is idle, it is silent…..
you can push 1965 clock speed (just increase temp/power limits, you dont need to overclock anything) if you set up a proper custom fan curve/have good airflow with temps under 59c.
All while gaming and streaming….
I stream and play Apex Legends with a webcam at 190 fps locked….. i used to play at 239 but frame drops dont look good on twitch…..
When I am not streaming I get 240 lockedddd (fps cap) not a single drop ever, even with Nvidia shadow play capture or whatever it is called….
this card paired with my i9 12th gen is TOP TIER……
this card is expensive because if you stream and game it covers the cost of you getting two pcs…… nvec incoder on obs is sooo nice and barley affects performance….

This card is the Pinnacle of gaming. Ive convinced 3 other friends to build their own PC, by having them play a game on mine. At 1440p, I was on average exceeding 100fps on most of my games. Stress test wise, I need a new processor, as it cant keep up with the 3080ti.

Over priced when I originally got it, and had to camp a best buy for it but it is a great graphics card for 1440p, and even some 4k gaming. Has reliably been pushing 100+ fps in almost every game I have played at 1440p.

-This is a review for the RTX 3080 TI FE
My Experience: This is my first time going team green and honestly it’s pretty cool for the most part, drivers are stable and never had to restart my computer due crashing drivers unlike AMD. I do miss having the built-in overclock tool with AMD software however MSI afterburner is a thing so not too much of a loss there. Overall it definitely outbeats my RX Vega 56 by a landslide and I’m so happy I made the upgrade, the only thing that’s disappointing is that it has the LHR, the card was expensive and would have been nice to have been able to mine with it on the side to make some of that money back, but it is what it is. Currently running it on my SFF build using a Corsair SFX 750 watt power supply and it’s been running fine so far and I’m using a 1440P/144 Hertz monitor
Positive:
+ A very fast card
+ Pretty much maxes out my monitors resolution and FPS
+ Stable drivers
+ All the Nvidia goodies like Shadowplay
Neutral:
| Would be nice if you can add your own games in GeForce Experience
Negative:
- LHR
Recommended: Yes if you are a pure gamer and want a good gaming experience

Fantastic card - and no issues despite being open box.
If while these came out in 2021, the improvements in the 40 series weren't as significant as the jump from 20 series to 30 series (excluding artificial improvements through DLSS Frame Generation).
I think the 30 series will be the benchmark for the next 5 years, especially considering the average fidelity of games has not drastically changed over the past 5 years.
If you need at least 60 fps, 4k, modern gaming, this is the card for you. Most games will play well beyond this, particularly with DLSS.
Have fun!

I waited in line from 1 am to 9am to get this card and you better believe it was worth it. I'm able to max out the settings on Flight Sim 2020 at 4k and still get 60 fps in most cases. Absolutely vicious video card. I also love that the founders edition is the only 3080ti that doesn't block two slots. I have an air cooled system with generally acceptable airflow but nothing completely insane and even while running demanding games it only gets a little louder. Amazing for a 350W card. The only drawback is that they're not widely available so you have to wait for restocks or pay scalper prices.

I previously owned a 3080, However I needed to get a gpu for my friend so I purchased this. I decided to keep the FE 3080ti over my previously owned EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 as the FE 3080ti runs 10% better in most cases and runs at a cooler temperature by a few C.
The only cons for this gpu would be the price this gpu really needs to be priced at $1000 for what you are getting in terms of performance. Another con is that it is a little noisy but not as noisy as a blower fan on a gtx 10 series I like the 2 fan design it is unique for this card.
Overall if you can afford a top of the line gpu I would go with the 3080 For price to performance ratio if you do not mind only having 10gb of video ram. But if you need a little more video ram the 3080ti is a painfully costly choice but really the only one, it would be nice to see 12gb variants of the 3080.. or if nvidia would reduce the cost of the FE 3080ti...

Great card. Am able to play any game thrown at it on my 4K TV and max settings so far. Aesthetics wise this card is among the best on the market currently for my all black, RGB-less build.
Worth $1200? Not really. But, coming from a much weaker GPU from two generations ago and the upcoming RTX 4000 most likely will run into the same brutal shortages made me decided to make this rather tough purchase. Getting a 3080fe is still seemingly more difficult than it is worth at this point.
