Awesome video card, great performance, horrible value. The rtx 30 series Founder edition cards are very sleek and cool adequately, not as good as the AIB options. The 3090 has very little performance gains over the 3080 for twice the cost and for that reason i'd not recommend it to anyone unless they actually need the extra vram, even then it might not be a great choice.

The 3090 is the card to get for content creators. I work remotely from home doing graphic design and 3d modeling and for GPU rendering scenarios, the 3090 with its 24GB of VRAM can tackle any task I throw at it. The card itself has a massive heatsink and may be a tight fit for any small cases. Thanks to the massive cooler, it runs cool and quiet even when being stressed. When I'm gaming during my off hours, it easily runs any game without issue. If your use case is primarily gaming, this card is definitely overkill and a RTX 3080 or 3070 would suffice, but if you pay top dollar for the best of the best, the 3090 is hard to beat. It's definitely a pricey purchase, and in almost every use case the 3080 is a better buy, but with the current state of the GPU market, lesser cards are being sold for more than the MSRP of this 3090.

Best GPU on the market, increase value proposition

When the RTX 30 series cards released, the RTX 3090 was certainly the worst in terms of the value proposition it held. However, with the tariffs implemented, and the cost of manufacturing going up(GDDR6X prices going up) among other things, the RTX 3090 and ESPECIALLY the 3090 FE has grown in terms of its value in my opinion. One thing Nvidia has always lacked with their card releases is VRAM. They always have amazing new GPU cores, but dont pack the card with sufficient VRAM to sustain realistic use for the long term. With the increased pricing being implemented by card partners, the 3090 FE @ $1500 MSRP is now in my opinion one of the best buys per dollar spent. You future proof yourself on the VRAM side with 24GB of GDDR6X AND the 3090 is one of the easiest cards to get at the moment(because as the price goes down, demand goes up, meaning 3060/3060Ti/3070/3080 all have a higher demand because more people can afford them then the 3090). When these cards were first announced, I was planning to upgrade from my EVGA GTX 960 SSC to a 3070. My opinion quickly changed that if I was going to upgrade, I may as well just get the 3080. Getting a Founders Edition was always in the plans because they sustain their value better then most card partner releases. After 3 months of trying to grab any 30 series card I could, battling bots on every site I was lucky enough to get a 3090 FE in my cart on BestBuy. I purchased it without hesitation, and couldnt be happier with the decision. Even when I pulled the trigger, the value proposition wasnt that great, and I wasnt sure I would keep the card(i had friends i would sell to for MSRP+tax if i didnt) but I am happy I did. I have tested it against the ASUS TUF(for those that dont know, of all board partners, ASUS is making the best 30 series partner cards by far) and the Founders Edition had a far better overclock(this may be due to the TUF card only using 2 power cables rather then the 3 many 3090’s including the ASUS STRIX use). All in all, the value you get for this card @ $1600 out the door(including tax) has just gone up. Anyone who ‘settled’ for a 3090 due to the lack of 3080’s previously are the big winners here with the costs of all cards across the board going up. If you have the chance to grab this card and you are on the fence if you really want to, or need to, just grab it. This card will hold its MSRP value long after the GPU market returns to its normal state, so get some enjoyment out of having a new GPU now and sell down the road if you really want. But I bet overwhelmingly that others will see the increasing value in this card the same as I now do. The card is BEAUTIFULLY made, it does get HOT to the touch due to the entire card being a passive heatsink/finstack, but I have never once seen the core temps go above 60C in any game or benchmark which is truly impressive. I have this paired with an i9-10850k and it absolutely crushes just about anything I throw its way. Good luck to all in your hunt for a GPU. I am building a second PC with a 5950x as soon as I can get my hands on one, and would have no hesitation to throw another 3090FE in it. PS; thank you bestbuy, while your checkout system isnt perfect for 30 series GPU’s and 5000 series Ryzen processors, it is FAR AND AWAY the most consumer centric. Great job.

This card is a monster in multiple dimensions. Make sure you have the space for it. If you're getting this for gaming, it's going to overkill unless you're running a 4k screen and/or games that support ray tracing. My only complaint regarding performance is that the RAM on the back of of the card gets VERY hot. If you're doing something that'll make full use of the VRAM I'd recommend looking in to something extra for extra backplate cooling. DO NOT RUN THIS CARD VERTICAL, it'll make it worse. For must stuff (gaming included for the most part) it'll run just fine. But workloads that use VRAM heavily will throttle. Also, price-performance isn't great. Or I should say wasn't until the price hikes came through. Now it's much more fair...... unfortunately?

Nvidia RTX 3090 FE is beast of GPU and its very big. Excellent build quality and offers good performance, but very expensive. The GPU stays fairly cool when gaming at maximum settings and not as loud as RTX 2080 Ti FE.

Is this card overpriced? Yes. Is it marginally better than a 3080? Yes. Was it the only 30 series card above a 3070 I could snag before scalpers? Yes! I thought the prospect of 1440p gaming on ultra at a constantly high was years out, but not with these 30 series cards! I get that the 3090 is way more expensive than it should be, and that not many people would be interested in it, which is how I got it before scalpers could. I most definitely wouldn't recommend it to the average consumer, its a horrible value, but for the hardcore enthusiast? Sure. These Founders Edition cards are absolutely fantastic with their new cooling system. It's lowered the temps in my entire case by quite a bit, and the card itself has yet to go over 73 degrees overclocked. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. This'll easily keep me happy until the 40 series come out which are looking to be absolutely INSANE with what we know right now. I would go lower on the stars to reflect the value, but it does have more applications than just gaming, and the benchmarks in games do speak for themselves.

The main reason I ended up with this card was it was the only one I was able to get into my cart and through checkout with. In most cases it's probably not worth the bump up from the 3080, but this is still a beast. So far I've thrown MCC, Cyberpunk, and ray-tracing Minecraft at it and it's handled them all like a champ. It's a very large and power hungry card, and the extra power would likely be more useful for workstation workflows than gaming. I have yet to try this card in Adobe Creative Cloud with GPU acceleration on, for example, but I have every confidence that it will perform well. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.

The top GPU is worth it, especially considering the Titan RTX was $1,000 more and a lot slower. I'm loving my 3090 so far! Works as advertised, top level performance. The card runs cool and the new design looks great. It is a massive card, which shouldn't be an issue for most who have a top-of-the line rig. The FE 3090 isn't super quiet but I personally enjoy the sound it makes. If you want dead silent, get something else less powerful or a more expensive partner card (not worth it in my opinion). Best Buy is doing a great job combating the opportunistic scalpers--thanks Best Buy!

If you can get your hands on this card, get it! It is fast!!. This card is also HUGE! Had to buy a bigger case to fit this card because it wouldn't fit in my Corsair T220 case. Fits perfectly with a lot of room to spare in my NZXT 710. Card takes up 3 slots and comes with the adapter that goes from 2 8 pin PCI-E to 12 pin to the card. The adapter is ugly but it is recommended that you don't use after market sleeved adapters with the 3090 due to the amount of power it draws. Card runs fairly quiet and if not running any games, etc. the fan is off.

I never would've guessed one of the best 3090s would also be one of the cheapest. Having had other 3090s from various AIB partners, the Founders Edition is superior to most of them in build quality and GPU core thermal performance. In some cases it might be worth adding thermal pads to the backplate/memory to enhance VRAM temperatures. Besides stock VRAM temps, the only detriment to the 3090 might be the size and heft (it's one of the heaviest cards I've ever held). If you can fit this in your case it's quite a treat.

Pros: runs relatively quiet, handles 4k 60fps and 2k 165fps easily, great for Iray and Vray rendering, stable temps during gaming with proper airflow. Cons: poor vrm cooling for heavy tasks (ML, rendering, mining), will need to add heatsinks to help dissapate backplate heat, price, size I would not recommend for gaming unless you've got 4k 120hz monitor, as you'll probably bottleneck it, but it's magnificent for heavy loads with additional and proper cooling. Be sure your case has enough space for this big chungus.

This graphics card delivers stunning performance and incredibly realistic visuals. In my experience, it can handle even the most demanding games with ease. With real-time ray tracing and AI-accelerated features, this card sets a high standard for graphics performance. Having upgraded from a 3070, I can vouch that the increase in performance is noticeable in every aspect of gaming. The 3090 offers higher frame rates, smoother gameplay, and faster rendering times, which makes the overall experience much more enjoyable.

The 3090 FE is a fantastic GPU. If you make a living out of content creation, be it video editing, 3D modeling, etc, this is the best consumer card money can buy. As for gaming, you're still getting the best performance available, even tho I would stick to the 3080 if games were my only use case (costs half the price and and offers around 80-85% of the performance). It's also a great conversation piece since these are ridiculously hard to get ahold of!

Beautiful card and an absolute beast. Runs super quiet and an overkill for gaming. But the 1500 price tag which once looked astronomical is now accepted as normal. Compared to a 3080Ti, this is much better. if compared to a 3080FE, this is an overkill and overspend. It's so good and heavy. I suspected it to heat like crazy. But cooling has improved so much. it hardly has to slog when played at 2K

Performance: 5/5 Features: 5/5 Design: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Thermals: 3/5 Noise: 3/5 Price is definitely a pain point for someone who wants best bang for buck. So really, this card is for someone who has enough money to not worry about that kind of thing. Thermals and noise under gaming conditions are good, however there was an issue with a light coil whine noise. Nothing that a good headphone can't cancel out, but personally, I don't use headphones that often. Under machine learning/rendering/mining conditions, thermals are absolutely atrocious. With VRAM TJunction temperatures reaching 110C where it starts thermal throttling. Definitely recommend replacing the thermal pads with something rated for 12w/mK if you plan on doing non-gaming workloads.

No ragrets! Chose this over the AIB partner cards because I love the cooler design. The cooler is very functional as well, temps are fantastic. Was badly needed to run my games on the Samsung Odyssey G9 at acceptable FPS as I like to turn up the graphic qualities in game as high as I can. Borderlands 3 with everything turned on in 5120x1440 resolution is getting me about 80FPS average. Super satisfied with this card.

It is huge....make sure you have plenty of clearance for this big boy. Although the 3090 is only 15-18% faster than the less expensive 3080. It is still a really good GPU. Especially if the 3090 is what you can currently get right now in this market. In my opinion, spending the little extra for the VRAM is worth it. I do not do 3D rendering at the moment. But it is nice to have at this time. It is always better to have than to need. For those wanting to have the little extra on your games. the 3090 with the 24GB of VRAM is worth it. Mainly because a lot more games require the extra VRAM for the textures and extra features that are in games. I set Middle of Earth: Shadow of War to the Ultra with textures at the highest settings. and 8GB plus of VRAM was being used. And that is an older game. The fans on the GPU are a little loud when under load. But if you wear a headset and have your computer a decent distance. You can hardly notice the fan. Currently running the 3090 with an older CPU. I am in the process of setting up my computer with a 5900x and motherboard to help with the bottleneck. Most games with highest settings like Cold War and Modern Warefare. I am running everything almost the highest settings with 100 to 144 FPS on 1440p resolution. If you're able to get this 3090 FE GPU. And are not able to get a 3080. And have been tempted to buy from a scalper. Most scalpers are selling their 3080s for almost the same price range. At that point, you might as well buy 3090 Founder Edition.
