I long been a user of Nvidia and AMD graphic cards. Same goes this generation, owning a 3060ti and 6900XT already. But I had the chance to buy the RTX 3090 FE and had to bite. First of all, this thing is HUGE. It is giant. Some cases will certainly struggle to contain it. Secondly, the power adapter is STUPID. Why Nvidia? With these things mentions of the way, the card is slick. It exudes awesome and looks the business. Not only that, but it performs like a monster. I will not go into it here, there are plenty of legit reviews out there to get becnhmarks. But I'll say paired with my 4k monitor, it is fantastic and for titles like Cyberpunk that need a little boost, at 4k, DLSS helps keep things smooth and looking good (Although DLSS still tends to add a little object shimmer at times and blur textures, sadly). Runs cool and quiet even with it chewing down insane amounts of power. Overall, drivers have been stable. Performance is amazing. The 24GB vram is way overkill and the $1600 price is a horrible deal under normal times compared to the 3080/6800XT price/performance. But given the current GPU market with nothing available and everything overpriced, it is not that bad and if the $$ does not bother you, get it, it is fantastic.

    MOST EXCELLENT

Took 2 months to finally get one at MSRP and I get it, it's difficult to obtain one and that's all I will say about that. Your time will come. First, I’ll say this card is great value for Professional 3d renderings and Heavy High Res. editing. However, it's not the best value if solely using it for gaming in my opinion, I’d wait for the 3080Ti or at least get the 3080 (or even the new 6000 series AMD cards). But hey if you have money to burn, go for it. THE GOOD: This thing is a literal BEAST! It weighs 7 pounds and fills in nicely in my NZXT 710 case. Once attached to the motherboard (i'm using a MSI Meg X570 Unify) and the three screws tightened in to place, I am not seeing any bending on the motherboard nor sagging on the GPU. In my personal opinion, it's the best looking of the bunch, simple, modern, yet effective. (i kind of wish it was more gun metal (like the 3070 FE) than bronze, but what can you do) I am running three 1440p monitors with this thing. Primary use for this card is 3d Architectural and Material renderings and the occasional high res. video editing. Thanks to the 24GB of VRAM, paired with my Ryzen 3950x and 128GB of RAM, I get seamless 3d high res. editing and rendering performance. The best part of it all is how cool it runs without having the fans to spool up like a helicopter about to take off. (though for testing I did spool the GPU fans to 100% and it is LOUD, but I have yet to hear it get that loud due to the adequate airflow in my case) I don’t game too much, so I didn’t really buy it for that, but I do plan on purchasing Flight Simulator 2020, and I hear this is the card to run it. The top fan does blow hot air up, but since the card is so large, the fan is past the CPUs location therefor the CPU doesn’t directly get hit with hot air. Power wise, light workload and idle is between 30-40 watts. But it'll easily go up to 370watts during workload. Be sure you have a powerful PSU. TEMPERATURE Temperatures in Celsius (All taken in room ambient temperature of 23 degrees) *At Idle – (Case and AIO fans low speed and GPU fan OFF) 33 CPU \ 27 GPU *At Idle – (Case, CPU, and GPU fans 100% < for testing purposes only) 31 CPU \ 25 GPU *Light Load [average web-browsing, word, YouTube, etc.] - (Case and AIO fans low speed and GPU fan off to low speed) 36 CPU \ 29 GPU *Heavy load [Gaming, 4k or 3d rendering] - (Case, AIO, and GPU fans medium to high speed - but GPU fan has not been past 80%) 65 CPU \ 60 GPU (average) 72 CPU \ 68 GPU (peak) CONS: The UGLIEST 12pin to dual 8pin Y adapter. At the very least it should have been extended it so that I can hide it. I ordered EVGA’s dedicated 12pin connector instead. (careful with the Amazon\eBay 3rd party ones because those are 18guage wires not suitable for the 3090 - either order one from the PSU manufacturer or if getting custom, make sure it's 16guage or below) The only issue I’m currently having is whenever my monitors go to sleep, I get constant Windows Disconnect and Connect device sound notification. (I did not have this issue with my old GTX 970 with 3 monitors connected to it). Even with the latest drivers and checking device manager settings I cannot get it to stop. The ONLY workaround I found (aside from muting or disabling the disconnect\connect sound) was to enable Nvidia’s Surround mode. I'm hoping a driver update fixes it in the future, but for now Surround mode will do. The 3090 and 3080 have two LED lights. One in the top middle "V" like shape behind the fan (which is actually RGB but set to white from the factory) and the Logo "GeForce RTX" lettering (only in White). The white LED for the Logo is entirely too bright. I downloaded EVGA’s Precision X1 software to control the brightness (and even turn it all off if you want to). You can also change the top LED to a different color and brightness. The only downside is each time you restart your computer it resets the lighting to white and bright. I’m hoping in the future that Nvidia or MSI (my motherboard) has better control for this

The best GPU on the market for ray tracing and 4k

This GPU is an absolute monster. I was building a new PC and planned on transferring my RTX 2070 Super to the new system when I happened to luck out and snag one of these on a whim. The card's build is of the utmost quality and the design is gorgeous. This thing is a UNIT thought. It's about as big as the new Xbox Series S. I would highly recommend a GPU bracket to help support the incredible weight and heft of this card. The 3090 runs extremely quiet and keeps quite cool. Games run incredibly well and look amazing. Control at 4K 60fps with DLSS is stunning. Cyberpunk 2077 struggles to hit 4k on any PC and this GPU is no exception. It does get really close most of the time though and the game maxed out looks absolutely gorgeous. This is the best GPU on the market if you want to run 4k or with ray tracing.

Best for the Money at MSRP?!

Let me start by saying obviously - this is the hardest card to get on the market. Ironically, it was also a budget choice for me due to the fact that 3080ti's are selling well above this on the aftermarket and third-party vendors are selling their 3080ti's for the same if not more expensive so it was an easy choice for me to get this card since I have the intention to water-cool it at some point. Performance - it is the top of the top, the only knock is the temps under high load so what I recommend is buying new thermal pads and replacing them (I Used Thermalright Extreme Oddesey 1.5mm) for more efficient cooling. It is super easy to do and there are tons of videos on how to do it as well. You CANNOT lose your warranty for disassembling the product - so don't fear as this is a relatively easy task to do. Build - I was SHOCKED with how heavy this GPU weighed and it is because it is made VERY WELL. Also, it should be it is $1500! It has caps for all the screws, the fans run really quietly, and generally just feels good to the touch. Being my first reference card ever bought I was blown away with how much better its construction is vs some 3rd party vendors. On a side note, this card is HUGE - it was about 3/4th the size of my G915 Full-size keyboard so make sure your case and PCI slot can fit this as it is a huge and heavy card. Make sure you get a bracket for your motherboard as well to prevent GPU sag. This card does have two white (non-RGB) lights that are either both on or both off, they aren't very bright so if you don't particularly care for them or the color it isn't a big deal as you can only slightly see them through tinted glass. Conclusion- If you can secure this card and afford it, It is the best on the market in the 1400+ range and especially so at MSRP. Bragging rights, frames and a solid-looking card that can blend in with most builds is what you can look forward to. It is super easy to say this is the best card on the market when many can't get it - but if you get the chance to at MSRP I would pull the trigger every single time on this card.

I managed to get the card by waiting several hours in front of the store. I purchased a NEW card but the heatsink fin was dirty. I wonder if this is a really new or open-box one. I want to replace it with a new one but maybe I cannot... The card requires three slots and the card length is long, so you should check the length of the PC case before purchase.

I don't know how I managed to get one of these but I'll take it. I happened to be online at the right time (10am) and several were in stock. This was the only card I could add to my cart though and I'm glad. The Founders Edition looks sick and weighs a ton. I had to build a support for it with Lego just to make sure it didn't lean. Card runs cool and doesn't miss a beat in the games I play. I'm not a bench marking person so my results aren't scientific but this thing blows my 1080ti out of the water. I'm running it on an MSI MEG x570 motherboard with a Ryzen 3950 (16 core), 128gb RAM and a 2 TB PCI 4 SSD. Video compression through Premiere is ridiculously quick. Videos that used to take an hour, take about 10 minutes. Some of this is the CPU, but when compressing video, the GPU is at about 80% usage. I have two variable refresh rate monitors that are 3440x1440. Rocket league on one monitor stays at a constant 240 FPS compared to the 1080ti's 130ish. COD Cold War in ultra with ray-tracing on is around 70 to 90 FPS when playing online. When I want to play split screen in Rocket League on both monitors at 6880x1440 this thing keeps about 130 FPS. It is ridiculous playing split screen at these resolutions. (both monitors are 34") Funny thing is.... I used to have an ethereum mining rig with 6 1060's and it mined at about 120 MH/s at 600 watts or more. I tested this thing out and it mines at 110 MH/s at about 260 watts. AND, I can game and mine at the same time. MH/s drops to about 30 when gaming but that is what my old 1080ti would top out at when mining. I keep the fan at 65% and when mining the temp of the card is around 56 degrees Celsius. If I game at the same time with the same fan speeds it hits about 70. You can hear the fan in my system at 65% but if I stop mining and set the fan back to default it hardly ever comes on unless I am gaming. If you can find one, this thing is the bees knees. I highly recommend it if you are trying to build a god box in this day and age.

Fantastic card. If you can get a 3090 at MSRP, you should. Given the cost of non-MSRP GPUs, the time saved in trying to get a 3090 compared with a 3080, and the significant increase in vram, the 3090 is a great deal. I upgraded from a 1080ti and had no issues. Upgrading enabled me to run a Samsung G9 monitor with high frames on all titles- this is likely true with a 4k display (since the G9 has just slightly fewer pixels than a 4k display). Video editing has been faster. Make sure you have a monitor/ tasks that can take advantage of the increased performance. The card has a wonderful build quality as expected from a founders edition. The card was only slightly larger than my 1080ti but significantly larger than my previous 980ti. Check dimensions before buying; however, the 3090 fit in my mid-size tower with ease. I had no issues with interference with my AIO or RAM, but that will likely be dependent on your individual setup. I'm using my second PCI slot. Overall, the 3000 series cards are wonderful. Being able to take advantage of raytracing and dlss is an improvement; however, if you are unable to find the card at MSRP and are happy with your current performance, there's little reason to buy from a scalper. The only downside was the wait for the card to be picked up taking approximately a week from when I placed the order until pick-up. On the bright side, the card was available for pick up a day earlier than was stated. I have heard stories about orders being canceled; however, this was not the case here. Overall the process was very smooth and worthwhile.

The cost of this product does not match performance but, the build quality is like nothing i have owned before. I upgraded from a FE 2080 that I was honestly very happy with at 2k resolution. After purchasing a 4k monitor i wanted something with a little more punch. I'm glad I waited on Ampere! Runs 4k all settings max on most games. Only con i see is the amount of heat my computer now makes.

This is a very thick card, very beefy. Ran RedDeadRedumption 2 on PC maximum 4K have about 20% VRAM taken.... I do notice the coil whine when the frame rate is high on Forza Horizon 4 PC, not sure exactly what caused it but some people said it will go out after a while in use. I only ran it a little while since I have it because it has been taken out and put an EK RTX3090 Special block to it. You would want a liquid-cooled block for this card because it gets really hot. You would also want some additional support as I'd suspect since this card which the stock cooler is very heavy. I would add one extra support just in case even I put it vertically with EK special water block and it is still quite heavy... I will give an update after my water-cooled computer is set up.

First and foremost, let's get the elephant out of the room. With tax tariffs affecting cost of GPUs from manufacturers, the best value are Founder Versions of the 3000 RTX GPUs. Secondly, it is hilarious how there are as of today more reviews on the 3090 than there are of the 3080 RTXs. It seems like most users do not have a choice if they want a next gen GPU. PROS: +Availability: Honestly, this shouldn't even be a con but for some reason because of the market supply, I am hilariously adding this to a pro. 3000 RTX are hard to get, and everyone is so busy trying to get the 3070 and 3080 they go to 3090 as a last resort. If you can spare the money and are fed up with trying to get the lower cards, go after this first. +Price/Value: Because of the tariffs, $1,499 isn't actually bad considering other manufacturers are now selling their 3080s for about $1k. FE version is still the best value at $699 but good luck getting one at this time. +Cooling: They did a phenomenal job at cooling with this GPU. I really like blower style GPU because it pushes the hot air out of the tower chassis and we all know that the GPU and CPU have the most heat. +Rank: This is the #1 gaming GPU in the market. Don't let the illusion of it being benchmarked a mere 15% better than the 3080 question why anyone would pick this GPU for price/value comparison with the 3080 because there is a measurement that they are forgetting to check. If you have a game that allows you to change textiles etc. like Resident Evil 2 Remake, you need a lot of VRAM to max it out. While the performance is 15% better in benchmarks, it doesn't tell you what if you used 20GB or 22GB of VRAM for textile graphic settings and other misc. settings, which no RTX 3000 GPU has more than 16GB (AMD). CONS: (None of these really are cons because you should know what you are getting into when you buy this). -Size: This thing is HUGE takes up a lot of space. Make sure you have room in your tower for this, mid tower is fine as long as you have 3/4 spaces. I would recommend 4 slots to make sure it doesn't heat up the card below or above it though. -For: If you are using this for 1080P gaming or 1440p gaming, it's a little bit of an overkill. 3080 is fine. However if you want ultra future proof on 1440p and 4k, this MAY provide it. I have heard rumors that the next generation of RTX is gonna blow 3000 out of the water more than the 3000 blew out the 2000 RTX.

BFGPU: Worlds fastest gaming GPU for the moment...

At the moment the worlds fastest consumer gaming graphics card. The card is a massive beast performance wise, size wise, weight wise, and price wise. Is the RTX 3090 worth almost double the price over a RTX 3080? Probably not unless you want the best of the best and money is not a issue and you play bare minimum at 3440x1440 but ideally 4K. The 24GB works well for prosumers or next gen AAA games at 4K and above. Temps are very good but will depend on the case and your CPU cooling. My one complaint about the card itself is that mine had noticeable coil whine, but it's not like I can swap it out due to zero stock at the moment. The package took about 4 business days to me in NY. While Best Buy requires a signature UPS simply left it on my stoop with no signature requested. The box was somewhat beat up and the inside had only a couple air packets but most had been popped. The NVIDIA box had some marks on it from being tossed around a bit in transit.

This card can be a real challenge to get a hold of at the time of this review, but it’s certainly worth the price and effort. Quiet operation and incredible performance, this card can tackle just about anything you throw at it. It is very power hungry though and generates a lot of heat, so I’d definitely recommend having a 750w+ power supply and a well ventilated case. This card is also huge, taking up three PCI-e slots and being just over 12 inches in length. It does a great job though, and will last you for years to come.

I got lucky enough to find out about a restock and purchased this. It was definitely more expensive compared even to the 3080, but the performance is outstanding. I’m getting as high as 170 FPS in Warzone on ultra settings. Motion is super smooth and clear. It has handled the other handful of games I’ve tried out extremely well. It is a beefy card, so chassis size matters, but I haven’t had any issues with it since installing. Stays cool and works exceptionally well.

Amazing GPU performance. Perfect for 3440x1440 160Hz+ gameplay. Racing games such as Forza Horizon 4 look buttery smooth at Ultra/Extreme graphics settings. The card itself remains very cool at full load (<70C) and is very quiet compared to previous cards that I've had. Only downside is the price to performance ratio (definitely no huge performance gains over the 3080) and there seems to be some coil whine/electrical noise when in use but from what I gather that's been kind of common with these 30 series.

What more can you say about it? This is the fastest GPU available right now. But is it a good value? That depends on your perspective. All AIB (Add-In Board) manufacturers have now had 4 price hikes, and Asus and MSI have started talking about a 5th. Only Founders Edition cards have remained the same price since launch so far. So compared to other 3090 cards, many of which are well over $2000, this is a good value. But compared to the 3080, it's about 15% faster at 4K for 2X the price. In that light, it's not a great value. On the other hand, GPU supply is so low right now and demand is so high, the 3080 is nearly impossible to get, and the 3090 is only a slightly easier to acquire. And some of the 3080 models are already $1100 or more (i.e. 3080 Strix OC). So given the current GPU shortage situation, the 3090 FE is a reasonable value. This is of course purely talking about gaming. If you have other prosumer uses for it that will utilizes the 24GB of VRAM, such as rendering or machine learning training, then this card is a great value vs Titan. About the card it self, it's massive and very heavy (nearly 5 lbs). So make sure you use a GPU brace to prevent damage over time to your motherboard and/or the card itself. Also make sure it actually fits in your case. I'm pretty impressed with the cooling performance itself, as it's able to keep the GPU in the mid 60s C in Cyberpunk (4K Ultra RT Ultra DLSS Performance) while holding to (barely) to 60 fps. In summary, if you are going to get the best GPU performance you can, this is the 3090 model to get. I personally cannot justify paying significantly more for other 3090 models.
