This is a great streaming box. The best I have used. The 3 star rating is due to the terrible remote.

Love the Shield. Best streamer out there especially with the games included. Remote is easy & has great range. My Shield is hung on the wall behind my flatscreen. Never a problem with range. Has all the Apps plus ones you’ve never heard of.
I have Apple TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, PS5 & new Xbox. Shield better than all for streaming media. Xbox close second

This is the only streaming box I've found that will do audio pass through. Yes for Plex and Kodi too. The Pro model works better than the non-pro one although the non-pro one never gave me a problem when running movies through the Plex add-on for Kodi. But in regular plex it was start freezing ever so slightly which made the movie viewing no good. The problem wetn away with the PRo.
Game Changer (if you utilize all its capabilities)

When I first bought this, many of my friends asked what was wrong with my TV’s native OS. The answer was nothing, but the Nvidia Shield offered more. Much more. Basic users will appreciate the excellent 4K upscaling (it’s actually incredible) and plethora of optimized apps (Access to a majority of Google Play Store).
The real benefit of this device is its seemless integration, hardware compatibility and PC game streaming capabilities. This device practically automatically adopted native control over my TV and soundbar so that I only have to use one remote for all my devices. It also recognizes every keyboard, Bluetooth device and game controller that I’ve connect. Speaking of gaming, the access to GeForce Now is great for streaming games if you don’t have a PC, and you can install emulators from the Play Store to play older games. In addition, if you have a PC with an Nvidia graphics card, you can stream from your PC with low lag and high quality picture.
The price seems pretty steep for a “streaming box”. But that’s not really a good way to describe this device. It’s ultimately a multi-platform connectivity device that brings your daily TV and gaming experience to the next level.

I used this to drive content on an early generation 4k Samsung TV. The android interface is intuitive and it has a quick processor to deliver gorgeous images. I watch all the usual streaming apps (Netflix, YouTube TV, Prime, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) and the Shield works like a champ.

I had the nvidia shield tv 2017 version.
I wasn't sure if this is worth to upgrade, but I'm happy now.
1. The remote controller is a lot better.
(especially the audio control)
2. The AI 4k upscale works better than I expected.
3. The sleep mode works better than the old version
with my TV<->AV Receiver<->nVidia Shield TV
I'm sure that this is the best streaming box.
Many features and capabilities, seamless streaming

The Shield Pro is probably overkill for my needs because I'm not a gamer, but there are some excellent features I use. I think it's best suited to someone who takes home entertainment very seriously.
I was prepared to run a ethernet cable to it, but the streaming is perfect with my WIFI, no buffering or delays. This was a pleasant surprise because I use the standard router from the cable company, definitely not high-end.
I haven't figured out how to cast from my laptop/phone yet, but I know the capability exists. It's just not all that important to me.
I'm still getting used to the shape of the remote, but the functionality is good. The remote power button also turns on/off my Insignia TV. It won't control my Vizio soundbar, but I think someone who is more interested in perfection could probably fix this.
This is my first media streamer so I can't compare it to Roku, Apple, etc, I know it's far more expensive, but based on its capabilities and streaming quality, and reviews of other streaming devices, it's worth it.

I've been a long time purchaser of streaming boxes, I've owned multiple WD TVs, Apple TVs, and other similar boxes. The Nvidia Shield TV PRO blows all of these other boxes out of the water. The interface is an absolute pleasure to use. The AI upscaling makes things really sharp. The UI is smooth and quick, and I'm a big fan of Android TV in general. Overall would highly recommend this product!

Fantastic media player in a small forum factor. 4k content/Dolby Vision looks amazing on my Sony 900F, Vudu, Hulu, Disney+ all work and look great. Some minor issues with Plex and settling on best storage option, but really impressed with the new Shield TV Pro.

I love this product. I switched from Firesticks and Roku. Android boxes offer so many more options. This box is so easy to customize. It comes with plenty of storage but is expandable. I have a separate hard drive hooked to it which helps for a Plex server. It is on the costly side but I think is well worth it. I also purchased the tube version for my other TV's.

For me the best android streamer. I previously owned Google TV, FireTV, Roku and even one of those weird Android boxes an NVIDIA Shield is by faaaar the best.
It is pricey but if you want quality the this is the way to go.

We really liked the finish and quality of the materials. It was easy to connect and set-up with my home theater system. The 4K video and audio quality was superb with a quick response. My main reason to purchase was to connect my in-house media server to be able to view home videos, listen to music and pictures. The Plex app worked quite well but have not figured out how to play a folder full of videos. Research on going. The remote is a bit odd but one can get used to it.

After using a firestick for such a long time, I contemplated switching to a shield but the price always held me back when you compare it to a firestick. Finally decided to pull the plug and I haven’t looked back. I highly recommend it

While price is high it is worth every penny. Use it for heavy streaming and is essentially a mini pc. No lag and is clean with the simplistic homepage as opposed to having ads all over the place.
