If just looking at the Nvidia to run Streaming TV XMBC Kodi and using as a simple android box the Nvidia is the best money can buy. Yet it will not break the bank. It has 4k and better components than any other box MAG Avov Minix, hands down. Would purchase this based on this alone. But nvidia takes it a step further making it a reasonable gaming system with a great game pad and remote - and free games off the playstore. I love this Nvidia shield. It has all the features I would expect and more for media players. You play games, watch videos. Does not lag. It is a well built device. Looks great by my tv.

Much smaller, slimmer in person. Super easy to set up. Fast processor. Looks great in person. Love the Xbox style gaming control it came with.

I have used other TV consoles before like Roku, GBox MX2 etc. But NVidia Shild one is the best one and replaces each and every one of them. In fact it is also giving my XBox a serious competition. It has amazing performance and no lags in games at all. It supports 4k perfectly well and I enjoy watching it on my new 65" 4k TV. Using kodi/youtube etc I can also watch 3D videos. The controller is nice, also I had some issue with it (a button not working well) and I contacted NVidia and they promptly sent me another controller (which also had some other issue and they are working on it) But overall its an amazing product with very good customer care.

All these gaming features high-end media player functions makes it a very good convergence device when pairing with Kodi for media playback.

Its a great device for media entertainment considering it can do 4k. Plays 4k content from YouTube and Netflix without a hitch! Its just pricey!

Bought this as a upgrade to fire tv box. This thing is amazing no side loading to add content. Picture quality is perfect worth every penny.

if there is a company that can be trusted on the technology field that's NVIDIA, this box does live up to their standards in materials, construction, functionality, ease of use, quality, design and reliability. It is full of high end specs for the enthusiast and yet it is usable by the casual guy. Not the first android box I had but probably the last.

I have nothing but great times with this console,i got one for me and one for my daughter and gave the Roku's to family members,my son won't leave my room now because he is five and cant read yet but knows how to use the controller so now he can find all his movies on netflix with his two thumbs,over all great purchase for my home now i need to get him one so he goes back in his own room......games are also great on this thing ps4 and xbox 1 quality.

The Nvidia Shield Android TV is a great streaming devise. It was extremely easy to setup. Downloading Apps is easy through the Google App Store. I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is perfect for anyone wanting streaming media services. The video quality is the great, No Optical output for audio HDMI only

First I had heard of a "computer gaming" console, great innovation but, the only downside and why I originally bought the console was to play Steam games. Steam itself does have a console but preferred the style and speed that Nvidia offered. Maybe they'll add it in the future!

using more for media, running kodi. gaming ability is a nice extra though. runs everything i throw at it without any hiccups. have a buddy looking at getting himself 1

i never knew Netflix could look this good. I would recommend using some kind of audio quest cable to get the full effect :)

I'd been holding out on getting other video game consoles. There wasn't any or enough games I wanted to play to justify the cost. I found this and wanted it to play some of the better android games on my TV. I'm impressed with the graphics capabilities of this tiny little box. There are quite a few games I want to play on it. I hope that the platform becomes popular, so more great games will come out on it. I've used the TV/video features a little. We rented a movie or two and watched some youtube on it. It works pretty well. We don't have a 4K TV, but the HD content looks good.

We've tried a lot of home theater device options... PS3, a home theater PC running plex, then running XBMC, a Chromecast, and an Amazon Fire Stick. This little device beats them all hands down. We opted for the remote, and it works beautifully. The UI is easy to navigate and pleasant to look at. I'm glad we got the Shield, it's hands down the best home theater option we've ever tried.

I was an early adopter of the android tv platform and grabbed a nexus player as soon as they were available. I felt like the layout and flow was decent for an early version of the product but needs refinement over time. My biggest woes were that the nexus player hardware was very lacking and underpowered. I would constant run into issues with playback or voice commands, especially on things like slingtv where their streaming interface could use some help as well (nothing worse than watching a show and having the stream crash with 5 minutes left and then have no time-shifting controls to get you back where you left off). Enter the Nexus Shield and the experience vastly improved. Enough RAM and processor to handle whatever I throw at it. Things like Slingtv are still rough around the edges, but good hardware helps even that to be a much more pleasant experience as you don't have to fight at both sides. The gaming capability is nice to have as an addition, but I'm just so happy as a cordcutter to have a streaming box that is so reliable and performant.
