I bought this because I wanted to play a few games on my big TV. The sheiks does streaming very well of o line games but not all of my games work with the sheiks which is a disappointment. That said the games that do work I can't tell they are streaming. It's as if the computer is plugged directly into my TV. I think just a few more bugs can be worked out with some of the game like battle field which also has a web interface and things will be good. I also think if it was a desktop streaming it would be more useful as I can see any error messages that may pop up. I have hopes it will get there.

Very easy to install and start up. I like the sleek design and it's very user friendly.

I bought this to run my Plex server. It works well and can stream / transcode multiple shows to different devices at once without issue. I've only run 2 or 3 simultaneous streams, but it handled them like a champ. This has become my main TV hub as I use it for Netflix, Plex, and the built-in Chromecast. My daughters like to play some of the games on it. I've been very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this to stream videos from Netflix, Kodi and other sources to my TV. Great for that. One thing the hobbiest like to talk about is a Plex server on the device and I bet it works great, but I don't recommend it if you're an average person. It's not windows compatible and requires setting up an FTP server on Shield to get files over, along with mounting directories in a linux flavor. It's not that it can't be done, but I think when you read reviews the open source folks tend to gloss over that because it's part of their hobby. If you're into it and you like it then even better. Even with that, this box does everything you need well. It doesn't do Amazon Prime but almost everything else does, so really it's a small issue to change imputs. Video playback from things like Kodi and others is better than the cheaper boxes in my opinion.

Playing videos or playing games is up to you and does both great. Recommend the 16gb version and add a micro sd card.

This machine is a beast! It satisfies all my streaming needs. I use it for Netflix, Hulu, Sling, Watch ESPN etc. Has access to the google play store and very easy to sideload apps not found in the play store. Another nice feature is the ability to game and purchase full game downloads. The game pad and voice activated remote are both fantastic. I would definitely recommend.

Really worth it. Play games, watch movies, build in Google cast. Micro SD and usb slot bluetooth. Love it use it in my man cave. I want to buy a second one.

It's better than Roku or any of the other devices that I have collecting dust. This thing does it all and is fast and smooth. If you aren't tied into the Apple ecosystem, this device will leave you wanting nothing. I can't comment on 4K performance because I don't have a 4K set. Also, I gave up gaming years ago, but it looks like it would be fine for casual gamers as well.

I like the 4K playback from the set top box, it integrates Android and google play into big screen features plus all the free games from Nvidia Grid lineup.

Will recommend to everyone. Best viewing system. No lag. Easy use. Wow!!!

First off, I am not a gamer and dont use it for that. I use it as a cordcutter and it works great for that. But it uses Google and does not have an internal browser, but there are ways to work around it. At first used the game controller to get around, but now I only use the remote, its so easy. You may want to get a wireless or bluetooth keyboard ...like microsoft 400.

I bought the Nvidia Shield to act as a plex server and also for Kodi. Its really cool because it act as both server and client for plex. Kodi runs way better on the Nvidia Shield than on the fire stick. In fact everything runs smoother and looks better on the Nvidia. Havent tried the gaming out too much yet but it looks like there is some great content available.

This is great for streaming and playing games. Only thing I am not 100%in love with is the remotes don't hold charge as long as I would like.

If you want a low power, low profile, no noise device for your media and light gaming this is your answer. The only drawback is not all apps in the google play store will work and amazon video is not available. Howerever once you install google chrome the apps will work through a browser.

I'm in love with my Shield. Does 4k with no problems and it's fast.

Streams 4k Videos well, Shield gaming experience is as good as in a console except the controller can be a bit more comfortable.

easy to use. only draw back the price is more than other boxes.

I bought this for the design and because it streams 4k I had know idea how much more I would use this over my cable provider box. One of my favorite features is the fact you can plug in your earphones to the remote and watch your movies without disturbing the wife while she sleeps.

love the shield I use it for my tv apps with no problem and for gamers download your games on it or just plug your usb or SD card and play
