I have almost all streaming devices: Chromecast, Roku, and Amazon Fire. The Shield just puts them all to shame. It's better in every aspect...power, features, stability, etc. The Roku is ok but apps are not developed as often or as well. Chromecast shouldn't even be considered as competition because of the lack of features. Amazon Fire drove me nuts. I spent months trying to work through their bugs and their outsourced customer service is absolutely horrendous! I would never buy another Amazon product based on just their customer service and technical support. The shield was a bit more spendy than the rest but you get what you pay for. It works seamlessly. The hardware is superior. Speed is outrageous. As far as stability, I have yet to have an issue or any functionality annoyances. The device is just solid!

I have a Sony TV with a pretty fast android TV built in... But eventually the speeds on the built in Sony Android got annoying, so I bought the shield couldn't be happier. It is lightning fast and can play a bunch of games as well.

I picked this up to replace my Roky Streaming Stick. Even though this offers 4k and games I kind of prefer the ease and simplicity of Roku. Batteries in the remote don't last long. Hulu stopped updating their app, so no live TV from them. Controller works as remote when the remote batteries died. Kodi is nice, but not sure I'll use it much. Very mixed feelings.

I enjoy is so far. I've used a Steam Link fairly extensively in the past so that's what I'm comparing against. The Shield does a lot more than the Steam Link, sort of like a mix between A fire TV and Steam Link together. Anyways, the issues I have are mostly hit and miss, such as a Windows pop-up while playing a game that cannot be resolved remotely. In other words, something might pop up, and it won't go away unless I get up, go to my computer, and click it from there. Also, I've been able to stream my desktop directly, which is a handy feature, but many times my mouse is invisible on the Shield. I can tell it's there because the UI reacts when I hover over things, but I can't actually see it. I've tried quite a few things to fix this, but to no avail. Finally, my primary PC has a resolution of 3440 by 1440, but the screen I steam to is 4k. There is always some conflict here if I don't manually change the PC resolution to 4k before I start streaming. Once it's up and running, and all the mentioned issues aside, it does work very well, better than Steam Link in many ways. 4k works flawlessly, and I think the experience seems overall slightly smoother as well, like less lag between PC and Shield and than I experienced between PC and Steam Link. All in all, I like the device and I don't regret the purchase, but it's not quite there yet as to be a truly plug and play, trouble-free experience.

I bought this mainly to run Kodi and to take advantage of the 4k capabilities. Apps are very responsive and fast. It's also much smaller than its predecessor. I'm hoping i can use it with my google home very soon. This is a must buy!

this is a great device, I use mine for gaming, and streaming videos and have had no issues. the gaming controller is a little different than I am used to being a Sony person, but that miner a I can pair my Sony controller to it.

Very Fast Zero Problems & Works Exactly As It Is Suppose To!

I sell Iptv and I recommend this device to all my customers. Anyone who is trying to cut the cord should use the money they’re saving to buy one of these. They are better than Chinese boxes, and way better than a Firestick. Most of my customers stop using their cheap Firesticks within a year cause of the low flash memory. Nvidia customer service is superb. The Shield is amazing in its speed and there are many You Tube videos out there showing how to sideload apps. I use Durex Build and it’s essential to cord cutting on the Shield . Stop buying jail broken firesticks and get some knowledge on how to side load apps and stream on the shield. You won’t be disappointed. Look up Durex Build support on FB and you’ll have everything you ever wanted,

This is my 2nd Shield. First was pro model at release. Tried a cheaper streaming box, but performance was lacking. I enjoy both the streaming capability, as well as the gaming available with the Nvidia subscription.

This little device is a home run. Works great for streaming video on apps such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go etc. You can also stream games via their streaming software without having an expensive PC.

This is just like the Amazon fire stick just a lot faster I canceled my cable bill and I get to watch all the movies and local channels, I want and the kids love it too only thing wrong is I need one for every room....
