Excellent paired with a 4k tv. Many options including gaming, streaming plus many other digital media needs.

Easy setup and fast. I was skeptical paying this much money for a simple streaming device, but it is definitely worth the extra cost. It's pretty much a mini computer. Only two issues I have are that the remote control is not responsive at times and google play music randomly launches even when the app is not open in he background. Hopefully this will be fixed with firmware updates. Don't think too much about the purchase, just do it and you will be happy.

Last year I bought the first version and was very impressed with how smooth it played videos and games. This current version is the same specs but has been shrunken down and now has an included remote and redesigned controller. The controller feels much better in the hand and the remote now has a replaceable battery instead of a rechargeable battery. Running 4K video through Kodi has been super smooth and I have had no problems with any other apps I have tried. Overall I am pleased with the purchase but wish it was a bit cheaper since it still includes the same processor and ram as the last version.

great NVIDIA - SHIELD TV 16 GB Streaming Media Player

Wow. Just wow. I threw everything at this nVIDIA Shield. Netflix 4K HDR, Amazon Prime 4K HDR, Vudu 4K HDR and YouTube in 4K HDR. Streamed all that media flawlessly on my LG 65B6. I even threw 4 4K HDR game titles streamed from my high-end PC through Origin, Steam and physically installed with all the video setting to the max and was able to play at a locked solid 60fps without a hitch. Very impressive cute little box. Highly recommend 10/10 IGN.

Worth the money. I recommend buying the 16 gig over the bigger one cause you can buy a larger portable hd and use that as storage on it for cheaper then the 300 doller shield that only gives you more built in space and a micro sd slot. To me the extra 100 bucks wasnt worth it for those 2 small things. I bought the 16 gig shield, 128 gig usb stick, 2tb portable hd, and a wireless mouse to use on the console for cheaper then the 300 doller shield

This is by far the best video streaming and gaming android player I've bought. Excellent graphics display and I connected a 1 TB storage device so the memory capacity is now better.

I have Apple TV and PlayStation for gaming, but I wanted a fastest android device that I can use Kodi with. Nvidia shield is very reliable specially for streaming in my case, the only reason I didn't give it a five star review is The remote is very annoying you can accidentally turn the volume up or down because the touch is very sensitive and the software is actually the most annoying to me at this moment it was fine at the beginning but right now the response is delayed sometimes I feel the battery dead or something wrong with it but after a while the command reach the device and without me touching the Remote it start skipping or pausing or replaying something like that besides that this device is The best on the market .

I got this because i have a Samsung 4k 75' TV that i wanted to play movies on from backups in MKV, MOV and even videos from my Phantom and Mavic drones. Other than having to connect a laptop directly to the TV other devices were not able to play these files. Having VLC and other media players on this has been great. I haven't played any games yet, however the controller does feel good in hand and free games are available. The price for what it is definitely high, at $200 you are already half way to the Xbox one X price point which is a much more powerful machine. I needed something small for the living room so bit the bullet on this one but defiantly consider all alternatives before making this purchase.

I usually use this for streaming TV through Netflix, Kodi ECT. The nice thing about this box is it actually buffers a little bit unlike a firestick. Also the kids love the games.

The old shield was fantastic, the updated version is truly an update. The new controller feels fantastic, the new Media controller seems to be a bit better. I can watch all my streaming media, and play PC games on my couch when I feel up to it, with little to no lag. I wouldn't recommend it for an online FPS, but you want keyboard and mouse for those anyway. With the addition of Amazon video, all my cord-cutting services are covered.

I purchased this device because I liked the idea of reducing the number of devices I own down into one device. My wife and I stream videos and such through built-in apps, and I am learning more about using the built-in Plex Server. I wanted the option to play games, but I am not a big gamer. This device has a range of options/features that can meet the varying level of gamers. NVIDIA Shield is a great product.

I've had the previous version was great looking device now it's even smaller and slimer controller. Very friendly interface n with Google search make things even easier I love it

If you are interested in Android TV or cutting the cord, this is your best option. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, YouTube, all the major services are supported. You can also play video games and use many of the same apps you would use work your Android phone or tablet. Expandable storage, Google Now integration, Nvidia Tegra processer, two controllers, etc. The Shield has everything you need and is updated regularly.
